1 Todd Hardin has taken on the responsibility of submitting our chapter s events to the News & Views section of the MI magazine. With Todd s help we will now have regular submissions to this section. This section in the MI magazine keeps other clubs informed of our clubs activities, celebrations etc. Submissions to Todd need to be done by the 5 th of every odd month. Please Todd with your submissions at tehardin8@gmail.com October Activity Myself & Fred Ipock attended the MDC 80 th anniversary open house in Springfield October 10 th. I met briefly with Sara Pauley, director of MDC. She desires to have partnerships with clubs and business that have conservation ideals that are in unison with the MDC Fred & I had a long conversation with Brian Canady the MDC Division Chief of Fisheries. Muskies are classified as a sport fish by the MDC and the MDC is committed to preserving and increasing positive experiences concerning muskies in Missouri. October was our Annual Open Team Fall Tournament. 30 boats participated over the 2 ½ days in this year s tournament. Winners for the Friday tournament were: 1 st Place team - Matt Ginnings & Jim Coach Wilson. Matt caught a 42 3/4 beauty in the early afternoon getting the team win along with big fish honors for Friday. 2 nd Place team Scott Schlick & Skyler Schlick Skyler Schlick caught a 37 Muskie 3 rd Place team - Robert Sawyer & Billy Pitts Robert Sawyer caught a 34 1/2 muskie Winners for the Saturday / Sunday tournament were: 1 st Place team Dick Stewart & Wayne Humphrey Dick Stewart a 37 in the early morning getting the team win along with big fish honors for Sunday. 2 nd Place team Jason Keith & Andy Hoffman Jason Keith caught a 34 Muskie 3 rd Place team Troy Popes & Tom Panek Troy Popes caught a 32 muskie Big Fish for Saturday was caught by Earle Hammond III 34 ½ muskie November Activity Saturday November 4 th was our White Bass Outing. We had 4 boats show up for the event, there was not much enthusiasm to fish for white bass so fishing for muskie became the event of the day. No muskie was caught despite the favorable conditions. King of the Lake competition concluded on Sunday November 5 th. As with previous legs of the tournament no fish were caught. Jim Ashton took big fish honors by virtue of draw. There is no King of the Lake this year!!!!!!
2 Saturday evening s club meeting agenda included officer nominations and discussion concerning the review of Missouri Muskie Management Plan. We received good input from those in attendance along with input from members who were unable to attend. I have compiled everyone s input and sent the recommendation out to the officer committee for review. The deadline for us to submit our review of the plan is November 17 th. Since there were not multiple nominees for the 2018 officer positions, the following people are the 2018 club officers: 2018 Club Officials Officers President ** Vice President ** Treasurer ** Secretary ** Appointed Positions Membership Chairman Release Chairman Tournament Chairman St Louis VP ** KC VP ** Kids Day Chairman Guide for a Day Chairman Chapter Representative ** News Letter Editor Chapter Challenge Coordinator ** Denotes Board of Directors George Donner James Smith Steve Worstell Tim & Tyler Dunaway Tim & Tyler Dunaway George Donner Wayne Humphrey Joe Magerl Open Earle Hammond Fred Ipock Mike Folkert Open Red Wing has donated a 2019 one week s stay all inclusive in memoriam of Fred Wehrli. James Smith is chairing this raffle. Each member will get 5 books of tickets to sell; we encourage your participation in this fundraiser. Tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20.
