Sports In PE we're learning to play hockey. Hopefully next week we will play proper hockey games. In hockey you have a grip on the handle, one hand at the top and the bottom. In proper hockey your only allowed to use the flat side also women are better than men. People need to wear heavy armour because if the ball hits you, it will hurt OUCH!!! In hockey last week we were scoring goals and passing. To be a good hockey player you need to have a good grip, bent knees, be able to keep focus and most importantly... HAVE FUN!!! By Gabriel Summers Our Bowhill guinea pig area has got a tunnel, two hutches, a green ball with lettuce coming out, a cage with newspaper and three flower pots with lots of purple flowers. Now we have new baby guinea pigs they are black, white and brown. They are girls and Mrs Howell is going to choose the best two names. The guinea pigs are SO cute and gorgeous. So cute you would LOVE to hold them. I JUST CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM. You would love to be at Bowhill if you are not at this school so if you go to Redhills then you might just be a little bit jealous! By Abbie and Isabel KS1 Maths In class we are making green, blue, silvery snakes out of papier mâché and special glue. We have measured our snakes using different fractions. By Alex and Lottie 2

The Legendary Lion King After months of practicing day and night, on Monday 11th of July, Year Six performed their outstanding show to their fellow schoolmates, teachers and family. With a live band, fabulous lighting and dazzling costumes, this production was surely the best ever seen in Bowhill history. The audience were dazed by this fantastic performance. Applause was all that could be heard throughout the school on Monday. The majority of the audience was left crying their eyes out! Here is what some of the audience had to say postperformance... I really liked the singing. When they were singing I Just Can t Wait To Be King they all looked like they were really enjoying it, and they were smiling, which had a huge impact on the audience. Carris, Year 5 I really enjoyed the performance, all of the costumes looked amazing and the face paint was so detailed, It must of taken ages to put on. -Ella, Year 5 The cast of the Lion King. 4
Year 3 sleepover On Friday 19th of June, Year 3 spent a sleepless night in the canteen. Surrounded by their friends and favourite teachers, here is how it went At the year 3 sleepover, we had lots of fun doing activities such as, eating delicious burgers, playing a variety of fun games in the playground, and singing campfire songs around the fire, plus, we made beautiful dream catchers. We also drank hot chocolate and devoured lots of cake. Then unfortunately, we had to go to bed. But just before we settled down, we listened to Mrs. Price tell us an interesting story, and then finally, after an evening of excitement, we settled down to have a well- deserved night s rest. After a night of barely any sleep, we woke up to a joyful chorus of birdsong. For breakfast, we were treated to a variety of scrumptious cereals, toast and refreshing drinks. Next, we went outside for an early morning run around, before packing our bags, and saying goodbye to our friends and teachers. Finally, our parents came to pick us up and that was the end of our super sleepover! By Maisie Wilkes and Talia Turner (Year 3) 5
