1st Annual 2009 Pioneer Cheer & Dance Team Challenge Sponsored by The Sacred Heart University Cheerleaders This competition is open to all of the following teams: All- Star, College Cheer and Dance, Junior High Cheer & Dance, and High School Cheer & Dance. Partner Stunt competition in all of the Cheer divisions as well. The competition will take place on Saturday, Jan 17 th,2009 at The William H Pitt Center at Sacred Heart University. ** Please note there is NO snow date to this competition. NO REFUNDS** The competition will take place on a 42 x 54 cheer floor for All- Star teams and college teams. And on a 42x42 cheer floor for all other divisions. All Star teams must follow the 2008-2009 NACCC/USASF General Safety Guidelines. All school teams will follow the 2008-2009 National Federation High School Spirit Rules and AACCA rules. College teams must follow either NCA or UCA Collegiate Guidelines. There will be a trainer on staff for your cheerleaders. However, teams are responsible for their own taping and precautionary measures. The trainers are there for emergency situations only. Entry Fees- Team Entry: Stunts Groups: $110.00 per team (all divisions) $10.00 per cheerleader We will be having two sessions this year. They are TENTIVELY set as followed depending on enrollment SESSIONS ARE SUBJECT TO BEING COMBINED: SESSION 1- ALL STAR, Junior High Cheer, & Junior High Dance Teams Registration is at 7 AM. Warm-ups begin at 7:30 AM. Doors open at 800 AM. Competition begins at 9:00 AM. All Star Cheer: Junior High Cheer: Mini- 8 years & under- (levels 1,2,3) Youth grades 4 & under (levels 1,2,3,4, & 5) Jr. Prep grades 6 & under (levels 1,2,3,4, & 5)) Junior- grades 9 & under (levels 1,2,3,4, & 5) Sr. Prep- grades 6-11 (levels 1,2,3,4, & 5) Senior- grades 12 & under (levels 1,2,3,4, & 5) Open - 18 years & older (All Girl or Co-ed: level 6) Junior High School: Open to any team made up of grade 8 & younger Jr. High Novice: Open to any team made up of grade 8 & younger that is relatively new to competition.(novice Division only: No free- standing single-legged stunts. Braced single legged stunts are legal. No basket tosses allowed. No full twisting dismounts from extended stunts. Single twisting dismounts from the prep level are legal. ) Junior High School Dance: Open to Junior High School dance teams.
SESSION 2- High School Cheer, High School Dance, College Cheer, & College Dance Registration is at 1230 PM. Warm-ups begin at 1:00 PM. Doors open at 2 PM. Competition begins at 3 PM. High School / College Cheer: All Girl Novice: For all girl varsity teams that are relatively new to competition. (Novice Division only: No freestanding single legged stunts. Braced single-legged stunts are legal. No basket tosses allowed. No full twisting dismounts from extended stunts. Single twisting dismounts from the prep level are legal.) Junior Varsity Cheer: Open to JV teams only All Girl Varsity: Open to all high school teams who are made up of all girls. Co-ed Varsity: Open to all high school teams that have one or more male members. College Cheer: Open to any college team (All Girl & Co-ed divisions) High School / College Dance: High School Dance: Open to High School dance teams. (Pom, Jazz or Hip Hop) College Dance: Open to any college dance team In order to hold a spot for your team please mail your team entry form and roster. Deadline to receive entry forms and rosters is January 8, 2009. Checks should be payable to Sacred Heart University Cheerleading. Please note: ALL information, including score sheets, warm-up/performance times, waivers, and directions are communicated via email. When giving your email address please double check to make sure it is correctly written and is the one you most frequently use. If you do not hear from us by January 10th, please contact us to make sure we have your correct contact information, and received your registration information. Only TWO coaches allowed in with each team. All other coaches must pay $5 at check in. All Star teams cannot check in without their entire team. Please do not have parents drop their children off at the University without a coach present. All fees are NON-Refundable. All participants must have release wavier filled out and signed by Parent/Legal Guardian. Release waivers will be collected at time of registration. Participants cannot compete without them!
