Face-off at UAA s Sullivan Arena (6,251) is slated for 7:07 p.m. Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday (Alaska Standard Time) About the MSU-UAA Series: MSU played the Seawolves in Mankato Nov. 25 and 26 with UAA gaining a 5-4 win in the first game and the two teams playing to a 5-5 tie in the next contest. MSU stands 33-23-8 all-time in the series vs. UAA. Most Recently: Its fifth consecutive weekend split (5-3 win and 7-3 loss to visiting Michigan Tech) gives Minnesota State a 10-19-1 overall record and 6-15-1 WCHA mark on the season. MSU has gone 5-4-0 in its last nine games and dating back to Dec. 9-10 when it swept Alabama-Huntsville in a nonconference home series, MSU has gone 7-7-0 in it s last 14 contests. 2011-12 Minnesota State University Men s Hockey - Page Two MSU All-Time: The Minnesota State men s hockey program, begun in 1969-70, completed its 42nd year of competition last year. The Mavericks are in their 16th year as members of NCAA Division I and in their 13th season as members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. With a total of 1,411 games played, the Mavericks sport an all-time record of 734-568-133 (.558). Michael Dorr Notes: Senior captain Michael Dorr heads into the series with UAA having totalled 2-2--4 in the last four games. With 6-10--16 in 26 games this year, Dorr ranks fifth on MSU s scoring charts. Dorr has 23-35--58 in 90 career games in ranking as MSU s active career scoring leader. Austin Lee Notes: Senior netminder Austin Lee, who hadn t played since Jan. 13 due to injury, came on in relief in MSU s 7-3 loss to Michigan Tech and stopped 18 of 20 shots in the contest. Lee ranks 19th in the nation in saves per game at 28.1 and his 562 total saves this year ranks 23rd in the country. Named the WCHA Defensive Player Week after shutting out #18 RPI to open the 2011-12 campaign, Lee owns a.907 saves percentage with a 2.91 goals against average and is 16-29-2 Minnesota State Head Coach Troy Jutting Richfield, Minn., native Troy Jutting (MSU 87) is in his 12th year as head coach of the Mavericks. A former stand-out forward for Minnesota State (145 career points in 136 games from 1982-86), Jutting ranks among the school s all-time leaders for career games played, goals, assists, points and single-season points. The third person to serve as head coach of the Mavericks, Jutting spent 10 seasons as an assistant coach with the program prior to being selected as head coach in the summer of 2000. A two-time WCHA Coach of the Year (2002-03 and 2007-08) Jutting owns a 182-219-54 (.459) career coaching record. Troy Jutting The Troy Jutting Show: The Troy Jutting Show airs Wednesday nights during the season, 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., on KTOE AM 1420. The show, which includes interviews with Coach Jutting and MSU players and guests, takes place at Buffalo Wild Wings in downtown Mankato with Mike Sullivan serving as the host. for his four-year MSU career. A three-year letterwinner, Lee is 5-13- 0 with a 3.17 GAA and.905 saves percentage for 2011-12. Mike Louwerse Notes: Senior forward Mike Louwerse scored his first goal of the season when he tallied an empty-net goal with the Mavericks on the power play in MSU s 5-2 victory at Bemidji State Jan. 28. Injured for a large part of this season, Louwerse has 27-27--54 in 134 career games in his four seasons with the Mavericks. Cameron Cooper Notes: Senior defenseman Cameron Cooper, who has 2-5--7 in 25 games this year, is a twotime WCHA All-Academic honoree. The Lakeville, Minn., native has 6-9-- 15 in 105 career contests. He is one of five players on this year s roster with at least 100 games played. 2011-12 Western Collegiate Hockey Association Standings Justin Jokinen Notes: Senior forward Justin Jokinen is MSU s active consecutive games played leader at 71 The Carlton, Minn. native who charted his second career game-winning goal in MSU s 3-1 win at St. Lawrence Jan. 7, owns 18-18--36 numbers in 116 career games played. Jokinen was selected in the fourth round by Buffalo in the 2008 NHL Draft, 101st overall. Adam Mueller Notes: Senior forward Adam Mueller heads into the series with Michigan Tech owning 3-4--7 in 27 games this year. The Roseville, Minn., native has two shorthanded goals in his four-year MSU career. Joe Schiller Notes: Senior forward/ defenseman Joe Schiller, who assisted on Johnny McInnis s goal last Friday vs. Michigan Tech, has 2-13--15 on the year. Chase Grant Notes: Sophomore forward Chase Grant, MSU s topscoring newcomer in 2010-11 with 8-12--20 in 33 games, played in MSU s first five games of this year before being forced to sit out due to injury and will apply for a medical redshirt year. The Oklahoma City, Okla., native is +10 for this two-year MSU career.
