Hello everybody! My name is Alice and I'm the new newsletter editor. I've been in the River City Corvette Club for a few years along with my father. My Vette is a black 1988, which I won from a raffle at the Corvette Expo in Sevierville, and I also help my father with his three corvettes. I am currently seventeen and just about to enter college at UTC to get my degree in English Education. Some of my favorite events are Corvettes at Carlisle, the Corvette Bash and the September Show and Drag (where I got first place in the powder puff competition and second in the open class.) I'd like to ask that club members help and send me articles for this years newsletter so we have plenty of exciting things each month. I'm really excited to be writing this year and to get to know all of you better through it!! You can reach me at aliceseiter@gmail.com or on my Facebook (Alice Seiter).

Also, at the January club meeting we will give the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 932 a check for $1000. Teen Challenge The club members took pride in showing off their cars.

You've probably already seen the spy shots of what was thought to be the high-performance version of the 2015 C7 Corvette. You can breathe now, 'Vette fans, because underneath the black camo was, in fact, the 2015 Corvette Z06. Even more good news: Chevrolet will be bringing it to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2014. The C7 Corvette with the Z51 package was good enough to win our Performance Car of the Year accolade, which means that the performance of the new Z06 is going to be dang good. Chevy hasn't yet released any details regarding the powertrain or price, but you can expect the new Z06 to continue the trend of being much lighter, stiffer, and more powerful than the base Corvette. The outgoing Z06 had a 7.0-liter V8 which put down just over 500 hp, giving it only 40 more ponies than the base C7. With that in mind, expect power in the 2015 Z06 to be in the 550-600 hp range. With the starting price for the Stingray sitting just under $51K, you can also expect the Z06 sell for around $75K to $80K. Hey, speed ain't cheap.
