Twenty Three Years Our meetings are held the 3 rd Thursday of each month at O Charleys on Hixson Pike. Dinner at 6 pm and the meeting starts at 7 pm. Visitors are always welcome. Come and see what we are all about. With 130 members we are one of the largest Corvette Clubs in southeast Tennessee. Keep Connected. http://www.rivercitycorvetteclub.com/index.html http://www.rivercitycorvetteclub.com/calendar.html https://www.facebook.com/rivercity.corvetteclub What do our members enjoy? Organized road trips to the Corvette Museum, Maggie Valley, Gatlinburg, State Parks, etc. Cruises on scenic roads, including the annual spring and fall weekend trips. Participation in local events like cruise-ins, cookouts, the annual club picnic, local parades, homecomings and other community activities. Friday night lights, an informal gathering on Friday evenings, at a different restaurant each week to kick off the weekend. The club has fund raisers throughout the year and donates the money to local charities. Giving back to the community is a high priority with the club. BUT MOST OF ALL FUN!!!

From The President s Desk Happy New Year! I am excited and looking forward to all of the great activities that are in the works for 2014! We always have various fun activities and events throughout the year including Car Shows, Trips, Dinner Cruises, events with other area clubs, we truly have something for all members to enjoy. Our first activities this year include a lunch cruise to Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge on January 25th, our annual Valentines Dinner to the Station House at the Chattanooga Choo Choo on February 8th and a cruise to Summerville Ga, to visit Greg Wyatt Vintage Corvettes on February 22nd. The launch of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is at the Detroit Auto Show on January 13th. Chevy will live-stream the launch beginning with a special event at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time; the reveal itself happens at 10:00am. Also, I excited to find out about added optional features for the 2015 such as a Performance Data Recorder, 4G LTE capability and an App Shop. Robin Peterson The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is touted as being the "Most Awarded Car of 2013". The C7 has captured a long list of awards including: Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award and has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year, with a high possibility of adding the "North American Car of the Year" to the list. The list of the C7's accolades include: Car and Driver: 10 Best list, Road & Track: Performance Car of the Year, Yahoo!: "2014 Yahoo Autos Car of the Year", Forbes: "Hottest New Car of the Year", Autoweek: Best of the Best list, Popular Science: Best of What s New and "2014 Auto Excellence Award", Esquire magazine called the Corvette Stingray reveal the "Automotive Event of the Year", Kelly Blue Book: "Best Resale Value Top 10" and "Best Resale Value: High Performance Car", The Motor Press Guild: "Innovation Vehicle of the Year over $29,000", IntelliChoice & AutoPacific: "Motorist Choice Awards", The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada: "Best New Sports/Performance Car", Detroit Free Press named the Corvette Stingray as its "Car of the Year", Bloomberg: "Car of the Year on its list of 2013 s Best Cars". I look forward to seeing all of you at our first monthly meeting this year, January 16th at O'Charley's in Hixson. Dinner and Social Hour at 6pm, Meeting at 7pm. Robin Peterson, President River City Corvette Club

Hello everybody! My name is Alice and I'm the new newsletter editor. I've been in the River City Corvette Club for a few years along with my father. My Vette is a black 1988, which I won from a raffle at the Corvette Expo in Sevierville, and I also help my father with his three corvettes. I am currently seventeen and just about to enter college at UTC to get my degree in English Education. Some of my favorite events are Corvettes at Carlisle, the Corvette Bash and the September Show and Drag (where I got first place in the powder puff competition and second in the open class.) I'd like to ask that club members help and send me articles for this years newsletter so we have plenty of exciting things each month. I'm really excited to be writing this year and to get to know all of you better through it!! You can reach me at aliceseiter@gmail.com or on my Facebook (Alice Seiter).

2013 was a great year for charities with the Corvette Club! Just recently we delivered $1000 checks to Teen Challenge, the Chattanooga Food Bank, and Room At The Inn. Also, at the January club meeting we will give the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 932 a check for $1000. Teen Challenge The club members took pride in showing off their cars.

Room At The Inn Pictures in front of the Christmas tree at Room At The Inn. Chattanooga Food Bank We got a first class tour of the food bank with their CFO Buck Gentry.

You've probably already seen the spy shots of what was thought to be the high-performance version of the 2015 C7 Corvette. You can breathe now, 'Vette fans, because underneath the black camo was, in fact, the 2015 Corvette Z06. Even more good news: Chevrolet will be bringing it to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2014. The C7 Corvette with the Z51 package was good enough to win our Performance Car of the Year accolade, which means that the performance of the new Z06 is going to be dang good. Chevy hasn't yet released any details regarding the powertrain or price, but you can expect the new Z06 to continue the trend of being much lighter, stiffer, and more powerful than the base Corvette. The outgoing Z06 had a 7.0-liter V8 which put down just over 500 hp, giving it only 40 more ponies than the base C7. With that in mind, expect power in the 2015 Z06 to be in the 550-600 hp range. With the starting price for the Stingray sitting just under $51K, you can also expect the Z06 sell for around $75K to $80K. Hey, speed ain't cheap. RCCC Monthly Meeting Minutes Date: November 21, 2013 Officers Present: President: Robin Peterson Vice president: Ron Kellogg Secretary: Mike Nabors Treasurer: Nancy Price Yes Yes Yes No No. of Members Present: 26 Agenda: Secretary s Report: Mike Nabors read the minutes from the October Meeting. The Minutes were approved as read, with a motion for approval by Larry Harless and seconded by Anna Lane. Treasurer s Report: Treasurer s Report: Attached. Mike Nabors read the Treasurer s Report for October in Nancy Price s absence. The Treasurer s Report was approved as read, with the motion to approve by Gene Talley and approved by Ron Hasting. Membership Report: The Membership Report included 8 new members per Ron Kellogg, reporting in the absence of Jerry Ray (who arrived later). Old Business: President Robin Peterson read the names of the proposed new officers, and they were confirmed by show of hands since there was only one candidate per position.

President Peterson reviewed the Fall Integrity Car Show and thought that it was a successful show. She discussed the show with Integrity s manager after the show and proposed an increase in the number of trophies to top 50 plaques rather than top 20 and stated that Integrity had agreed to move the show to the used car lot in order to have more room for cars. President Peterson announced that the Car Care Clinic had once again been postponed because of health issues of the Adams representative. It is unknown if the clinic will be re-scheduled. The Christmas party scheduled for December 6 has about 30 members signed up and the club can still take reservations if anyone else wishes to attend. She reported that Ron Kellogg has volunteered to head up the proposed Key West trip since the original member/lead for that event has dropped out. Ron Kellogg reported that we had a new web site sponsor: Oasis Glass Tinting had been added. A get well card was passed around for Jerry Davis who was in the hospital having back surgery. New Business: Ernie Pierce agreed to take the lead for a trip to Corvettes of Carlisle in 2014. Christmas Parade dates were reviewed and members were encouraged to participate. November 23 is the East Ridge Parade, December 1 is Soddy Daisy and December 14 in the downtown Starlight parade. Jerry Ray (arrived) reported that the club was given the number 14 as the place in line for the East Ridge Christmas Parade. Parks Hall won the Trivia and was given $5 in cash rather than the usual $5 card. Suzanne Hall won the 50/50 drawing and was awarded $31. Adjourn
