Fly Fishing the CA Delta has been one of the top selling Fly Fishing books since 2010. He will be presenting his slide show Fly Fishing for Delta Stripers which will visually take you through one of California s best fisheries. - 2 - CLUB OUTINGS Submitted by Carl Laski DATE TRIP ORGANIZER April 13, 2013 Bass Fishing - Colorado Jerry Phan River/Canals May June July August September 20- Mammoth Fly Fishing Faire Carl Laski 22, 2013 October 11-13, 2013 Mammoth Carl Laski It s time to head out to Blythe and chase smallmouth bass in the Colorado River and irrigation canals before it gets to hot. If you haven t seen Jerry Phan s videos on YouTube, go to www.youtube.com and search by Jerry Phan. This will give you an idea of what the action is like in this area. For beginners, this is a great opportunity to get your feet wet. Actually, you don t even have to wade. There is easy access to the water and no obstructions to spoil your back cast. Blythe is approximately a 3.5 to 4 hour drive from the Los Angeles area. You can stay overnight in one of the many local motels or a campground. It s also time to start thinking about fishing the lakes and streams in the Mammoth area. If you are interested in attending any of these outings, please sign-up at the general meeting.

We will be offering workshops on casting, tying and on-stream techniques. More details will be coming and we want to hear any ideas that you might have. With all of our participation, this could be the biggest fly fishing event California has ever seen! ***Please mark your calendars.
