If you haven t seen Jerry Phan s videos on YouTube, go to www.youtube.com and search by Jerry Phan. This will give you an idea of what the action is like in this area. For beginners, this is a great opportunity to get your feet wet. Actually, you don t even have to wade. There is easy access to the water and no obstructions to spoil your back cast. Blythe is approximately a 3.5 to 4 hour drive from the Los Angeles area. You can stay overnight in one of the many local motels or a campground.
