GAME NOTES Clearwater (20-11) at Dunedin (14-17) Wednesday, May 11, 2016 LISTEN LIVE: Game No. 32 threshersbaseball.com Starting Pitchers: RHP Thomas Eshelman (1-1) vs RHP Brad Allen (3-0) Shark Bytes WALDING THE HERO IN WALK-OFF WIN: Mitch Walding came up clutch for the Clearwater Threshers twice on Tuesday, delivering the game-tying and game-winning blows as Clearwater outlasted the Dunedin Blue Jays with a 4-3, 13-inning victory on Tuesday night. The win for the Threshers was their first extra-inning win and first walk-off in 2016. Clearwater becomes the first team in the Florida State League to reach the 20-win mark this season. Walding tied the game with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, delivering an oppositefield single off lefty Tim Mayza to score Tocci. In the 13th, he came up with the bases loaded against position player Dickie Joe Thon, and smacked a single to center to give Clearwater the win. CLUTCH WALDING: Mitch Walding s game-tying and game-winning hits on Tuesday upped his RBI total to 24, putting him in a tie with Kyle Martin for the most in the Florida State League. Walding, who is already just seven RBI short of matching last year s season total, has gotten it done where it counts this season. The 23-year-old is batting.429 (12-for-28) with runners in scoring position and.500 (8-for-16) with RISP, two out. HE S BACK: Andrew Pullin is back with the Threshers, as the 22-year-old outfielder was added to the Clearwater roster from Extended Spring today. Pullin sat out the first month of the season, but his bat will be a welcome addition after he tied for the most home runs (14) in the FSL and ranked fourth in RBI (73) last season. MALQUIN MAY: Malquin Canelo reached base five times out of the leadoff spot on Tuesday, going 2-for-4 with three walks, two stolen bases, and three runs scored. After batting.216 in the opening month, Canelo is hitting.370 (10-for-27) across eight games so far in May. The 21-year-old has reached base in over 50% of his plate appearances over thst span, drawing eight walks for a.514 OBP. Canelo joined the Threshers last June after emerging as a SAL All-Star with Lakewood. He is ranked the No. 12 prospect in the Phillies system according to Baseball America. HEAD-TO-HEAD: Clearwater and Dunedin battle for the seventh of 20 times this season. The Threshers are 3-3 thus far against the Blue Jays, including a 2-2 record at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. 2016 FSL Standings NORTH Clearwater 20-11 Charlotte 18-14 Tampa 18-13 Fort Myers 18-14 Lakeland 17-14 St. Lucie 17-14 Dunedin 14-17 Bradenton 15-16 Daytona` 13-18 Jupiter 15-16 Brevard County 9-22 Palm Beach 14-19 SOUTH Organizational Report Philadelphia Phillies (19-14) 3rd in NL East Last Gm.: W 3-2 @ Atlanta Next Up: @ Atlanta, 7:10 p.m. Note: Adam Morgan 7 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, BB, 4 K in win; Maikel Franco hit his 7th HR.
