A 6-2 forward from Mt. Laurel, N.J., Maddie Sims has signed and returned her National Letter of Intent during the Early Signing Period and will enroll at Siena College next fall. We are extremely excited to add Maddie Sims to the Siena Family, said Jaques. We had our sights set on her for a long time, and I know that she will be a perfect fit in our program. She is a skilled and tough post player that will continue to give us a presence in the paint. Through her first three varsity seasons playing at Lenape High School in Medford, N.J., Sims has averaged nearly a double-double with 11.9 points and 9.3 rebounds in 83 games. She enters her senior season just 15 points shy of 1,000 for her career, and is also on pace to eclipse 1,000 career rebounds. She averaged 14.9 points and nearly 11 rebounds and six assists per game in being named an Olympic Conference All-State All-American Division First Team, Group 4 First Team, All-South Jersey Second Team and an All-County selection. A three-year varsity starter, Sims was named First Team All-Conference and Third Team All-County following her sophomore season, and was a Second Team All-Conference selection as a freshman. A left-hander who is described as an extremely versatile player who can shoot from the outside, but is also a nice rebounder and good at finding the open person, a smart player, Sims played her AAU ball for the NY-NJ based iexcel which she led to a 34-3 record this past summer which included Basketball in the Bayou and Deep South Championships.
