Important Exhibitor Information AHAM SUMMER ONE-DAY SHOW I AHA Recognized Show #141312381 AHAM SUMMER ONE-DAY SHOW II AHA Recognized Show #141312647 One-Day Show AHAM Summer ODS I and II One-Day Show results count toward AHA qualifications and programs. Entries shall receive all appropriate qualifications and points for Regionals, Nationals, Achievement Awards and Sweepstakes points in applicable classes. AHA Membership Each participate must submit a valid AHA Membership with Competition Card, Life Membership Card, or join AHA (Membership with Competition Card) at the show or pay a $35 Single Event Membership fee per person, per show. USEF No USEF fees or memberships are required for this show. Judging Class specifications and conduct shall be in accordance with the current USEF/EC Rulebook. This show will utilize the one-judge system and those placings shall prevail. All decisions made by the Judge and/or Show Management are deemed final and cannot be protested. Stalls Stalls are mandatory for all horses. The fee is $60 per stall with the fee covering both shows. Option Classes Option classes are available for purchase. Option classes must be purchased individually for each show. The purchase price includes one entry for the purchaser. Please refer to the Option Class page of the show bill for a list of available classes. Halter The Score-Card System shall be used for all halter classes and horses shall remain in the ring for the duration of the class. Leased Horses in Amateur Classes A leased horse does not constitute ownership in an amateur-owner class. Leased horses cannot be shown in any amateur owner classes. Rule Book The rule book of the USEF will prevail for the show. Any changes or corrections of rules will automatically become part of this prize list. Each class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. Questions not covered by USEF rules shall be decided by the Show Committee and its decisions will be final. Show Management will be charged with the responsibility of enforcing all USEF and AHA Rules. Violation of any USEF or AHA rule will be cause for immediate removal from the show grounds and all moneys, ribbons, and trophies will be forfeited. Drugs and Medications This show will follow the Rules and Regulations of the Drugs and Medications Rule of the USEF. Dogs/All Pets must be on a leash at all times on the grounds and in buildings. Pet owners are required to supply an official rabies certification showing the date and serum used. Proof of service status is required and must be promptly shown if asked to do so. Sharps Containers for used needles are attached to the walls in convenient locations throughout the stalling area. Arena All classes will be held in the 110 ft x 220 ft indoor arena which has a mixture of sand and dirt footing. All warm up rings have a mixture of sand and dirt footing. 3

Judges In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Show Committee reserves the right to substitute judges or show officials per USEF rules. GR1211.2 (b) No contact shall be made with the judges during the period of the show unless accompanied by a member of the Show Committee designated by the Committee for such purpose. Further, no exhibitor shall approach a Judge regarding a decision without first obtaining permission from the Show Committee or USEF Steward, who shall arrange an appointment with the Judge at a proper time and place. All classes will use the Single Judging System and those placings shall prevail. Registration Requirements All purebred Arabian and Half Arabian/Anglo Arabian horses to be shown must have been issued a certificate of registration from the AHA Registry and/or the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry (CAHR) or the Canadian Partbred Arabian Register (CPAR), or if under one year of age, be eligible for registry, and registration applied for and must be entered under their full registered name. Smoking - Smoking is prohibited in the Arena and all barns Discipline Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the officials on the part of an owner, groom, rider, driver or member of the family of the person participating in the show will disqualify the horse from adjudication. The management reserves to itself the right to remove a groom, horse, rider, or driver from the show without being liable for compensation or damages. Health Requirements A negative Coggins test is required for all horses exhibited at this show and must be dated within the current calendar year. For horses entering Michigan: (Michigan Statute) all equines require a pre-approved official interstate health certificate or certificate of veterinary inspection prepared by an accredited veterinarian from the State of Origin. An entry permit is not required. Determining Maiden, Novice and Limit Horse or Rider Ribbons won in one-horse classes do not count in reckoning the maiden, novice or limit status of either horse and/or rider/driver in any division. The status of Maiden, Novice or Limit entries is as of the closing date of entries, August 6 th, 2014. USEF GR 901.29 and GR 1301.7 Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. Campers The camping fee is $60 per unit during the show regardless of length of stay. All camper units/tents that are occupied over night must display a valid permit that can be purchased at the Show Office. Permits must be visibly displayed. Running of generators after midnight is prohibited. Camping is allowed in designated areas only. Campers may not be parked around the Dickinson Building. No horse trailers, except those with living quarters, may park in camping areas. Refund Policy and Class Cancellations If a horse is withdrawn from the show for any reason by August 6, 2014 all fees shall be refunded. After August 6, 2014, requests for refund of class fees will be considered on an individual basis. Refund requests should be given to the Show Secretary prior to the end of the show. Requests for refunds must be in writing with a Veterinarian s statement as to reason for cancellation of classes. Refund checks will be mailed after the Show Committee s decision. Class Cancellations: The Show Committee reserves the right to cancel a class if there are fewer than five entries, in which case all entry fees for that class will be refunded. If the Show Committee finds it necessary, it may also split a class. In this event, duplicate awards will be presented. Class fees will be refunded for any classes cancelled due to weather conditions. 4

Public Address System The public address system in the barns is used to call classes. This is a courtesy only. It is up to each exhibitor to be aware of the class schedule and to arrive at the gate at the proper time. Exhibitors are responsible for knowing when their class is being judged. A two-minute hold will be in effect at the gate. The announcer and the gate attendant should be notified when a conflict in classes occurs. Submit Complete Entries 1. Include the complete name and address of owners, trainers, riders, handlers, drivers and walk-trot riders. 2. The horse owner s name must be exactly as it appears on the registration papers. Leased horses need a copy of the lease agreement. No leased horses may exhibit in an Amateur Owner class. 3. AHA non-members may pay a $35 single event fee. Walk-trot 10 & Under, Lead line exhibitors, and parents who sign as trainers for their children are not required to be members. 4. The entry form must have all necessary signatures including owner, trainer, rider, handler, and driver. A parent/guardian signature for all exhibitors less than 18 years of age is required. A professional trainer, parent or child may sign as the trainer. Trainer in this case means the person responsible for the care and wellbeing of the horse. 5. Include a photocopy of the horse s Coggins Test. The original copy will be verified at check-in. 6. Enclose your check or other payment instrument. Check for full payment or open check must be made out to AHAM, signed, and dated 7. Enclose the stall request sheet located within this booklet. People requesting stalling together must have each other s names listed on the stall with section and must get their entries in by August 6, 2014. If a tack stall is being shared by two or more people, the cost of the stall must be paid in full by one person. 8. There is a $10 credit card convenience fee on all credit card transactions. 9. No fee will be charged to change a class if a class is added at the same time a class is scratched. Scratched classes with no added class will not be refunded. The scratch and add must be completed in the Show Office prior to the classes scratched and added. Any difference in fees from the scratched class and the added class will be paid by the exhibitor. 10. Settlements will be calculated and paid in their entirety by either the trainer or the owner. Settlement of fees and closing out open checks should be done no less than one hour after the last class ends. You may check out earlier when you have entered the last class but make sure it is the last class. 11. And most important if you have questions, call Show Secretary, Sara Ressler 248.922.0148. Advance reservation will be accepted followed by a signed open check, sent to Ron Gekiere, to confirm the reservation. No stalls may be resold except by Show Management. All 10 x 10 stalls have cement floors, 8 x 10 stalls have dirt floors. All box stalls have doors. Please note: Ingham County Fairgrounds will assess a $150 fine per stall to anyone who takes a stall apart and does not replace or straighten all items EXACTLY. Please note and report any problems with a stall before use, including broken or misaligned item(s) to the Show Office or Fairground Management. A stall assignment map will be posted on the tack board in the arena area and also on the north wall of the Crestview Tack building located on the hill. Show Management reserves the right to reassign tack stalls for use as additional horse stalls if needed. No changes in stabling will be permitted without Show Management s permission. No first bedding will be provided. Arrival Admission to the show grounds will not be allowed before 8:00 am on Friday, August 15, 2014. Parking will be in designated areas only. Stallion owners: We have no control regarding the gender of the horses in the adjoining stalls. It is the responsibility of the Stallion Owners to provide equipment or barriers to protect their horses as well as the neighboring horses. Shavings No first bedding will be provided. Shavings may be purchased from Crestview Tack Shop, call Ed Taylor at 517.749.1784. The sale or delivery of shavings by any other vendor is not allowed. No grain or hay will be available for sale at this show. 5

Option Classes Requests close at 4:00 pm the afternoon before the arena show begins -Option Class purchase fee is $30 and includes one entry for that class An Option Class may be requested by submitting the Option Class Request Form below, or call or fax your request. After the Option Classes are posted, anyone may enter the classes at the entry fee of $15. Post entry fee does not apply. Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes points cannot be earned from any option class.
