Clare County May 2018 4-H Program Coordinator s Message The busy 4-H season is upon us and I encourage everyone to get involved in the many opportunities that are available. Now is the time to check out our 4-H camps and to spruce up your skills with your animal projects. There are showmanship clinics happening soon that everyone should take advantage of. Don t forget that all youth have the chance to enter Home Arts projects into the Fair. There are many projects that youth are probably already doing at school, home, or in their clubs that can be entered for Home Arts. All Cloverbuds, youth age 5 to 8 by January 1, 2018, should keep an eye out for a special letter in the mail during the month of May for the Cloverbud Show during the Fair. Alex Schunk 4-H Program Coordinator Flower and Plant Sale The 4-H Council is asking that all Clare County 4-H Families sell 3 items during the Flower and Plant Sale Fundraiser. A variety of vegetables have been added this year. Order forms can be found on your family s 4HOnline profile. The club that sells the most will win a $50 pizza gift card to throw a pizza party with your club! The money raised from this fundraiser goes directly towards educational 4-H things like the 4-H Council Higher Education Scholarship, 4-H camp and Exploration Days scholarships, Make A Wish Scholarships, Holiday Craft Day and much more. Forms and money are due to the MSU Extension Office on Wednesday, May 9. Tentative delivery date is Friday, May 18. Everyone will be notified of pick up times by email and Facebook. Volunteers are needed for the day of delivery. Contact Us Alex Schunk 4-H Program Coordinator 225 West Main Street P.O.
