The event will be held at the main lodge of the Coldwater Lake 4-H Camp in Weidman. The program will begin with some words from our 2012 Royalty and then we will announce our 2013 top scorers and wrap up the evening with a reception including light refreshments. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us as we welcome a new Queen or King and Prince or Princess and their court. Horse Camp June Camp will be held at the fair grounds. Cost is $15 and $15 if you want to camp. Couple of clinics scheduled with a local vet and a judge. Crafts, games, and fun times! Check-in at 6 p.m on June 28. Food provided. Contact Jessica Janetski or Ashlyn Davis Isabella County 4-H Scholarships Awarded Congratulations to Nicole Morgenstern (Pony Creek 4-H Club) and Kate Troxell (Aim High 4-H Club), recipients of the Isabella County 4-H Scholarship Awards for the academic school year. Ten applications were reviewed by the Isabella County 4-H Awards committee. Best wishes, Kate and Nicole, with your future plans! Cat Project Members The 'Cats' area was left off the green pages in the fair book but we show the same time as the dogs, with vetting in at about 12:50 p.m. or so (after Dr. Pol vets the dogs). Our show starts at 1:00 p.m. with Cloverbuds immediately following; Open is after Cloverbuds. It is very important that exhibitors, parents and leaders read page 51 and a small section on page 61 of their fair book. Last year there were 3 exhibitors who did not have all their cats' shots and/or they did not have the shot records with them to let Dr. Pol examine them'. Just as with the dogs, exhibitors cannot show without vet papers. Accommodations for persons with disabilities may be requested by contacting the MSU Extension office at (989) ext at least 5 days prior to the scheduled event to ensure sufficient time to make arrangements. Requests received after this time will be met when possible.

2 Page 2 CLUB CORNER Aim High - Members voted to donate $300 to the fair board's multipurpose building project. The teen leadership group shared with the younger/newer members ideas and tips to better prepare for and "survive" fair week. Various forms relating to fair projects, auctions, etc. were completed with the assistance of leaders. Plans were made for the June 10 meeting which will include cleaning the ditches along Baseline Road. Families signed up to work a shift for the food stand. Congratulations were given to Bob and Barb Coldwell who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary -- everyone is invited to a public open house on June 9, from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at First Church of Christ. Barn Yard Kids - Our meeting in March was low on the attendance side, due to weather. We discussed the Maple Syrup Festival and our community service serving breakfast at the festival. We figured out our plant sale fundraiser for May 17 and 18 at the Clare Amish Flea Market. Rescheduled road side clean up for later in the year. Bowen Busy Bees - Started their May meeting with the introduction of the new Administrative Leader, Briana Allen. The change is effective in June. Discussion followed on topics of financial donations, community service options, and fair expectations. After the meeting members were encouraged to pick up and ask questions about any project record sheets as well as any other items relating to the fair. The June meeting will be focused on signing up for fair entries and a few community options. Farm Hands - At our last meeting in May all the members signed up for fair. We talked about our work shifts for fair week. We also passed out the rest of the sweatshirts and t-shirts. Pine River - At our May meeting we met at Payden Park for a roadside clean up/ barbecue/ softball game. Tally-Ho - We enjoyed spending Maple Syrup Festival in Shepherd together. The members had a soup/ chili sale Saturday during the Car show. Then on Sunday morning they volunteered to help serve pancakes for a busy breakfast shift. The members from age 4-17 along with parents and grandmothers had a fun but busy and tiring time. Town & Country Maple Leaves - In May we had a bake sale at Tractor Supply Company and sold 4-H paper clovers. For our meeting we did a make it-take it workshop to help teach members projects and also had a potluck.
