Knights Newsletter R I V E R R I D G E A T H L E T I C S. O R G April 23, 2018 Test Time... Over the next few weeks we will talk about Milestones, AP Exams, Senior Boards, and Final Exams. For several of our teams, the test that they have been preparing for all season is also underway. Both of our tennis teams won their first round matches and head into Sweet Sixteen competition this week. Baseball finished second in the Region and will host a double-header this Thursday starting at 4:00. Boys Lacrosse is finishing up the regular season with a chance of a State Playoff birth, Track is sending 18 athletes to Sectional with a chance to go to the State Meet, and Golf is preparing for the Area Tournament if the weather allows. Aces! I m so proud of our boys and girls tennis programs. Both won their first-round matches this week. The girls swept Douglas County 3-0 and the boys showed a ton of fire beating Hughes 3-1. Our teams have their work cut out for them this week with the Girls headed to Northview Tuesday, and our boys headed to John s Creek Wednesday. They also wanted me to thank you for headed out into the halls and supporting them with the Spirit Walk this week. Wish them the best of luck in the Sweet Sixteen!

Knights Newsletter Our Knight Baseball finished up the regular season as Region Runner-Ups, and will host Northgate High School Thursday evening in a double-header. The first game will start at 4:00, and the second game will start approximately 20 minutes after the completion of game one. The weather should cooperate with us, so go home and grab the family and come out and spend some time at the park this weekend. We will honor the team with a Spirit Walk this week. Stay tuned for a date and time.
Friday Fun The Connor Adams Kickball Tournament was a hit this past Friday. Thanks to Ms. Hamilton for organizing the event. Our kids has a blast, and to little surprise, a team comprised of soccer players took home the victory.

Our kids are awesome, the show is funny, and it forced me to download more Queen to itunes. There are a ton of great music and pop-culture references and you will leave happy that you attended. Knights Newsletter Tons of Talent Please join the Art Department in congratulating Graciella Elaine and Regan Martin, they have placed in this year s Congressional Art Competition. They received their awards Friday night from Congressman Loudermilk. The winner will hang in the halls of congress and represent the 11th district. Graciella Elaine won 1st place in the 11th district congressional art show. Her work will hang in the halls of Congress for a year. She also received $13,000 a year to SCAD as well as other scholarships and awards. Regan Martin received 3rd. River Ridge had 4 entry s this year, the other two students are India Johnston and Sydney Taylor. Please congratulate these talented students when you see them. Page 8

Knights Newsletter Boys Lacrosse Our Boys have finished their regular season and will know their play-off scenario Tuesday night. This week, they had Senior Knight and we were able to honor Seniors who have helped lead this team to the best record in the history of the program. Page 10

The organization or school with the most participation will receive $1000 and the organization or school with second most participation will receive $500! Get out your cape and run, walk, fly, hop, skip, crawl or cartwheel across the finish line with us to raise much needed funds for child abuse prevention & intervention services! Super Fun for the Whole Family at the 6th Annual Cherokee Superhero 5K Run and Fun Run at Etowah River Park in Canton GA. Presented by Amerigroup Health Solutions. The course will start and finish at Etowah River Park and will be run on the paved trails of Etowah River Park and Heritage Park. Fun Run 8AM 5K 8:30AM Awards: Overall Male and Female. 3 deep in standard Male and Female age groups. Shirts and Goodies: All who register by 4/23/18 will be guaranteed a shirt. Those registering after that date and on race day are not guaranteed a shirt or size. Youth sizes will not be available to race day registrants. There will be plenty of refreshments. Always on the Run Our boys and girls Track teams will be sending 18 athletes to the GHSA Track Sectional Competition this weekend at Lakewood Athletic Complex. These athletes will have a chance to punch their ticket to the State Championship in Carrolton the following week.
