The goal is to teach the athletes basic fundamentals of wrestling, sportsmanship, and to have fun. Athletes should wear a t- shirt, shorts, and a pair of wrestling /gym shoes. All practices will be conducted within the Lions Den, which is located in the High School next to Gym A. More information is attached to today s bulletin. We hope you join the fight and support the Bremen Lions on Friday, September 21 at our annual Believe in the Shine GO GOLD football game. Let s SHINE a light on pediatric cancer by wearing gold/yellow on Friday. Believe in the Shine will have a tent set up with free face painting and t-shirts will be available for purchase. Believe in the Shine will also have a donation bin for Memorial Children s Hospital. 10U BASEBALL TRYOUTS THIS WEEKEND Coach Pat Greene will be holding 10U All-Star tryouts this Saturday, September 15th from 3-5 and Sunday, September 16th from 3-5 at the Bremen Youth League baseball diamond. The Bremen 10U team plays in a local All-Star league the months of May and June and in a State sanctioned tournament the month of July. To be eligible, you must participate in the Bremen Youth League and be 10 or younger (kids can t turn 11 before 5/1/19). 2018 Bremen Youth Wrestling Camp Dear Parents: The Bremen Wrestling coaching staff will be conducting a wrestling camp for athletes in grades K - 6th. Our goal is to teach the athletes basic fundamentals of wrestling, sportsmanship, and to have fun. Athletes should wear a t shirt, shorts, and a pair of wrestling/gym shoes. All practices will be conducted within the Lions Den, which is located in the High School next to the main office. We will conduct 4 practices to be held on the following dates: Tuesday, October 30th 5:30-6:45pm Thursday, November 1st 5:30-6:45pm Tuesday, November 6th 5:30-6:45pm Thursday, November 8th 5:30-6:45pm We encourage parents to get involved in these practices and help teach the athletes proper technique. Following our 4 practices, we will host an end of camp tournament on Saturday, November 10th at 1:00pm. During the tournament, we will conduct a brief practice to demonstrate what the athletes have learned and then each athlete will wrestle 2 matches against boys approximately their own weight and age. We will not keep score during these matches, and there will be no pins. T -shirts will be passed out after the tournament. Cost of the camp is $30.00, and includes a T -Shirt from the tournament. Checks can be made out to Bremen Wrestling Club and should be returned with the application to the high school athletic school office. We would prefer registration forms be turned in early, however, you may also bring your registration to the first practice on Tuesday, October 30th if you wish to sign up then. 2018 3 rd Annual Oktoberfest Coloring Contest Sponsored by Bremen Castings Age Groups: Cash Prizes per Age Group: 2-4 years of age 1 st Place - $50 5-7 years of age 2 nd Place - $20 8-10 years of age 3 rd Place - $10 11-12 years of age All winners will also receive a certificate Rules/Guidelines: One entry per child. Entry must have child s full name & age neatly printed on the front and contact phone number on the back of the page. BCI is providing the coloring pages. There are two options for ages 2 7; and two options for ages 8 12. Each child may select one option to color. To download, go to the BCI Website (www.bremencastings.com) or Bremen Oktoberfest or Town of Bremen Social Media sites. Coloring pages can be downloaded beginning Thursday, August 23 rd Friday, September 21 st. Print to a standard 8 ½ x 11 letter sized paper. Children may use color crayons, colored pencils, markers, or embellishments as desired. All entries are due Friday, September 21, 2018 Drop boxes for completed artwork will be provided at the following locations: Bremen Castings, Bremen Town Hall, Bremen Library, Bremen Elementary School, and Woodies Supermarket. Winners will be contacted by Wednesday, September 26, 2018 via the phone number provided on the back of the coloring page. The winning pictures will be displayed in the Bremen s Historical Center window along will all participating entries in other locations throughout the Town of Bremen. Participation grants Bremen Castings permission to display artwork and allow names/images to be printed in various publications (I.e. Bremen Enquirer, Bremen Castings website or Facebook).
