The Senators were able to salvage a game in the three game series against New Hampshire with their 1-0 victory in the series finale. The Senators are 3-3 against the SeaWolves this season, after each team traded three-game series wins at the opposition s ballpark. The Senators took two out of three against the SeaWolves in the two club s most recent series May 22 May 24 in Erie. DÉJÀ VU The Senators won the series finale with New Hampshire 1-0, marking the second time in the past four games the Senators have won 1-0, the only two wins over that stretch. Both games lasted exactly two hours and 12 minutes, and Wander Suero worked a scoreless ninth inning for a save in each of the two contest. MAY FLIES AWAY The Senators finished the month of May 12-17 overall, with a.266 team batting average, the fourth highest mark in the Eastern League during May, and 5.11 team ERA. The club launched 25 home runs during the month which is tied for the third most among all Eastern League teams, and Neftali Soto s seven homers were tied for third most by any player in May. MARMOLEJOS ON-BASE STREAK ENDS After going 0-3 against New Hampshire, Jose Marmolejos on-base streak ended at 17 games, making it the eighth longest current season only streak in the Eastern League this season. The 24-year-old has now reached base safely in 17 of the 18 games he s played and recorded a hit in 15 of 28. games SOTO HITTING STREAK ENDS Neftali Soto finished 0-1 with two walks in game one of the doubleheader on Wednesday, snapping his 16-game hitting streak. The streak is the longest current season only hitting streak in the Eastern League this season, surpassing Tzu-Wei Lin s 15 game hitting streak earlier this season. The 16 games in a row is the longest hitting streak by a Senators player since Jesus Feliciano s 17 game streak in 2005. The Manati, Puerto Rico native has recorded at least a hit in 22 of his past 25 games and 41 of the 48 games he s played. Soto has also reached base in 19 consecutive games, the sixth longest current season only streak in the Eastern League. TONIGHT S STARTING PITCHERS Taylor Hill starts the series opener for the Senators. Hill is 1-0 with a 8.04 ERA this season with the Senators after going 1-4 with a 9.29 ERA in six starts with Triple-A Syracuse. The righthander allowed just two runs over six and two thirds innings in his last start against Richmond on May 28. Erie tagged Hill for nine runs over three in innings in his only start of the season against the club. The right-hander was originally drafted in the sixth round by the Nationals in 2011. AJ Ladwig starts opposite Hill for the SeaWolves. The right-hander is 3-4 with a 5.40 ERA across 11 starts this season. Ladwig lasted just one and two thirds innings in his last start against the Senators on May 22, after allowing five runs on six hits.
