The drive and eat took us locally to Andale so people could be home in time to see the Jayhawks. We had a great turn out plus two prospective members. Thanks to Dale and Barbara for being sympathetic to all the basketball fans needs and taking us to a place with a television and good food. That weekend weather was great for a drive to Enid to the corvette show and the drive and eat. The following weekend was not as nice for the drive to Columbia, as five corvettes braved the potential for rain and snow, which arrived Saturday morning. However, the weather did not dampen the fun or spirit of this charitable event. The weather for our trip to Tulsa was Officer at Large.........Linn Smith 316-806-8004 N.C.C.C. Governor...... After lunch at Ted s we departed for Ugly John s where we were treated to a guided tour of his outstanding collection. I can t believe there were not a few trips down memory lane while looking at all the cars. I would like to thank Jim for setting this up, it was a very enjoyable day. Don t forget the Lone Star Corvette Classic coming May 16-18, registration is due by May 1. Also, at the May meeting we will be discussing new club shirt colors so come and voice your opinion. May, 2008 Volume 42 - Issue 5 Minutes from the April 2, 2008 ACCC Meeting The meeting was called to order by President Monte Rans at Don Hattan Chevrolet. Rick Epp, Jim Hattan representative, shared that the Don Hattan Dealership is now a GM Certified Corvette Dealer. W e welcomed visitors Dave & Deb Larsen who just ordered a new Z06, Mike Young with an 08 convertible and new member Mike Harrington. We also welcomed guest Joyce Cornejo who invited us to bring our cars to a car show in June to Life Care Center in Andover. She offered free food as a bribe : ) A tentative date was set for Saturday, June 14th from 10-2. A motion was made and passed to accept the minutes as printed. Vice President Jack Crossman reported the new membership packets will be in the mail. Treasurer Randy King reported that the checking account has a current balance of $1073.71 and savings has a balance of $1329.30, both now at Bank of America. Secretary Marsha Battaglear had nothing. Officer-at-Large Lin Smith asked all interested persons to check the points sheet. Smith s and Michael s in 1st, Mansfield s 2nd, Hoofer s 3rd, McKee and Snodgras 4th and Wilkinson s in 5th place. The deposit has been paid to the Petroleum Club for the Award s Banquet January 16, 2009. Saturday, May 10th Drive & Eat Meet in the parking lot of the old Builders Square on the South East Corner of Kellogg & Webb Hosted By: Gary & Joan Jones Group Leaves Promptly at 6:00 PM Governor Gary Jones informed everyone of the two Friday night Cruise Ins at Bigs and Plaza West, both on west Central. He shared many up-coming show dates as the new season begins. Following is only a partial listing. Contact Gary or the car show guide for more details. Newsletter as always Kent needs pictures of events that you attend. Old Business Marsha reported on the new denim club shirts. She passed around an Order form. Kent will send out information and the shirts will be ordered in time for the May meeting. The Ugly s trip caravan will leave McDonald s at 47th & Broadway at 9 am. Mike McKee brought some ACCC graphics for the windshield of your car. They went fast so see him if you want one. The Sun Downer Parade for the River Festival May 9th is being set up. Dale Brotton is parade coordinator. See him if interested in participating. Exploration Place would like us to bring our cars for a car show. They will be meeting in Mid-April and notify us of dates. Kevin proposed a monthly breakfast Drive & Eat. Many seconded and it passed. Chris amended the original motion to be Only those who have not hosted a regular Drive & Eat can sponsor the Breakfast Drive & Eat. The motion passed. A sign-up sheet was sent around. Only the Hendersons signed-up for August. If you are interested in hosting (a good way to boost your points) see Marsha. New Business Several members attended the Texas Mile. Travis Pearson led the group with a recorded 170 mph in his Z06. Barry Hoofer recorded a 160mph and matt hoofer came in with a 150 mph. Travis suggested that we set up a group to go to the one in October. The Drive & Eat for April will meet at the ice rink at 5:30 pm. Dale and Barbara Brotton are hosting and Dale promised we won t miss the KU game. Go Jayhawks!!!! Swap and Shop Dick Volkman knows of a red automatic 2001 coupe with tan interior and 28 thousand miles for $26,900.00. Dick and Joyce Preisser have their house on the market for $329,000.00 along with his 82 for $7,00.00 which needs paint and a tune up. 50/50 Pot was won by our visitor Deb Larsen. Way to go! May, 2008 Volume 42 - Issue 5 Minutes from the April 16, 2008 ACCC E-Board Meeting The meeting was held at Don Hattan Chevrolet. All board members were present. President Monte Rans called the meeting to order but had nothing new to discuss at this point. Vice President Jack Crossman reported 69 paid members. All new members now have the revised packets. He reported that we have a new member, Terry Hurley and possibly two more couples. Treasurer Randy King reported $1181.86 in checking and $1319.56 in savings. He requested approval to keep out $30.00 for change for the monthly 50-50 pot. The Board granted the request. Secretary No report. Officer-at-Large No report. NCCC Governor Gary Jones reported he had filed the annual Federal tax report. The Kansas report was ready but needed Monte s signature. He also requested $40.00 to pay the annual fee to the state for not for profit status. The River Festival Parade Insurance has been turned over to Dale Brotton. Newsletter Editor - Kent Michael asked Monte to sign the membership cards either by hand or electronically. Old Business Monte reported that everything is set for the cruise to Ugly s in Oklahoma. Reservations have been made at Ted s for 12:00 and then to Ugly s at 2 pm. The new club denim shirts are ordered. We will begin research on a new short sleeved, light weight polo shirt, preferably red, with both a men s and women s cut. Kent will check on price of a logo decal for the cars with white lettering and clear background. We need to plan for the club photo. Possible venues are the Bunting Airport, or the Air Museum. Monte will contact Ray Wyatt. New Business We discussed having some club cards printed, either with a club picture or logo, to use as Thank-You cards. All agreed this was a good idea. Wichita, Kansas Membership Application Regular membership dues for A.C.C.C. are $50.00 per year for new members and $45.00 per year for renewals. Membership dues include A.C.C.C. spouse membership and one National Council of Corvette Clubs (N.C.C.C.) membership. Associate membership, designed for the non-corvette owner, is $25.00 per year for new members and $20.00 per year for renewals. Associate membership does not include spouse or N.C.C.C. membership.
