Refunds (minus any non-refundable deposits) are only given in the case of a documented serious illness/injury. CONSENT: I permit my child to attend and participate in all classes, activities and event at Studio for the Living Arts Dance Complex (SLADC) during the Sasha Yapparov Summer Ballet Intensive (SYBI)and I understand dance instruction involves kinetic corrections that may include physically touching as part of regular class calls work and rehearsals. I also realize that there are inherent risks of serious injury in all of the above activities as well as in the general participation in Program activities and events. I declare that I have either consulted a physician or voluntarily chosen not to consult a physician before or during the course of the SYBI 2016. I have been advised that my child must be in good health to participate in the program and I now declare that he/she is in good health. I understand as a parent or guardian, I will be contacted if medical attention is required during the SI 2016. If I cannot be reached I authorize the SYBI faculty to arrange for treatment as necessary at my expense. I shall indemnify, hold harmless and defend SYBI faculty and SLADC against any and all claims, actions or suits brought for damages or alleged damages, property or from loos of life sustained by my child while my child participates in classes, rehearsals and performances on the premises of SLADC and offsite locations for performances and rehearsals. MEDIA RELEASE: I hereby give permission to SLADC and SYBI to take photographs and/or videos of my child to use for the purpose of promoting SLADC and SYBI without compensation to my child. All such reproduction shall constitute the property of SLADC and SYBI. I hereby relinquish any right I may have to examine or approve the completed product or products or the advertising copy or printed matter that may be used in conjunction therewith rote use to which it may be applied. STUDIO FOR THE LIVING ARTS DANCE COMPLEX Sasha Yapparov Summer Ballet Intensive JULY 18 - JULY 29, 2016 This 3 level program is designed for students age 10 and up to further explore the beautiful world of ballet. A well-balanced daily schedule of classes will include Ballet Technique, Pre-Pointe / Pointe class, Variations, Choreography, Modern, Character, and dancer wellness. In addition to Sasha Yapparov, faculty will include Catherine Batcheller, Dean of the Cincinnati Ballet s Otto M. Budig Academy, Kailtyn Hayes, Nicole Getchell, and Mary Stride. Dancers attending the full two weeks will participate in a final off-site performance for friends and families, location (TBA). This is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to learn more about ballet and have summer fun! Intermediate - Advanced Levels: 9:30am -3:00pm Monday - Friday $275 (1 week) $525 (2 weeks ) Advanced Beginner Level: 9:30am -12:30pm Monday - Friday $175 (1 week) $325 (2 weeks) Registrations are now open. SASHA YAPPAROV Sabir Yapparov received his academic and ballet training at the Perm Ballet Academy, Russia and studied with some of the finest teachers in his country, including Julius Plahkt. He was a soloist with the Sverdlovsk Academic Theatre of Opera & Ballet and with the Bolshoi Theater in Uzbekistan, and was a principal with the Odessa Academic Theater of the Opera and Ballet in the Ukraine. His repertoire included leading roles in the classical, neoclassical and contemporary ballets: Albrecht in Giselle, Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Prince Star in Masquerade, Prince Desire in Sleeping Beauty and Ivan inhunchback Horse. Mr. Yapparov worked with prominent teachers and artists as A. Messerer, M. Plisetskaya and V. Gordeev. He was invited as a guest principal throughout the former Soviet Union, Italy, Hungary, Portugal, Finland, India, Spain and Canada. He was also awarded the rank of Honored Artist of the Ukraine. Mr. Yapparov worked as a ballet master with the Sarasota Ballet for eleven years, serving one year as Associate Artistic Director. In 2003-2004 he was a Visiting Professor in the Dance program at the University of South Florida School of Theatre and Dance, and was a guest faculty member at North Carolina School of the Arts in 2007-2008. Mr. Yapparov recently was both a ballet teacher and the Assistant to the Artistic Director at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C. He was the director of Portland School of Ballet s preprofessional CORPS program from 2011-2012. Most recently, he served as Principal at the School of Cincinnati Ballet.

CATHERINE BATCHELLER Catherine brings over 30 years of professional experience with her. Under Catherine s direction as the Dean of the Cincinnati Ballet s Otto M. Budig Academy, the Academy is receiving national recognition as one of the finest pre-professional programs in the country. The Academy has experienced tremendous growth with students moving to Cincinnati to train as well as international students joining the Academy s Summer Intensive. CBA year round students have been hired by the Royal Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Louisville Ballet, Houston Ballet II, and Milwaukee Ballet II. Catherine s international career as a principal dancer spanned some of the world s leading ballet companies. She danced with the San Francisco Ballet and the Stuttgart Ballet as well as the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and she worked with some of the most distinguished choreographers of our time such as William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Maurice Bejart, Sir Peter Wright, David Bintley and Wayne McGregor. She also performed many works by John Cranko, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins. She has been invited to teach across the country including the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Walnut School for the Arts, Indiana University, and Portland Ballet as well as internationally for the Stuttgart and Alberta Ballet. In 2001, she co-founded and co-directed Configuration Dance, and directed Configuration Dance Studio, the school associated with the company in Massachusetts. Prior to joining Cincinnati Ballet, Catherine was the Artistic Director at Ballet Conservatory of South Texas in San Antonio, a pre-professional company and ballet academy. She also holds a M.A. from Birmingham University, England. Catherine trained with Victor Marino, the Cleveland Ballet School, Washington School of Ballet and San Francisco Ballet as well as summers at SAB, ABT and Joffrey where she studied on scholarship.

KAITLYN HAYES began her dance training on Cape Cod, MA with Virginia Zango. In 2003, she attended Boston Ballet, where she performed in their annual production of The Nutcracker. After attending three years of high school at North Carolina School of the Arts (now the University of North Carolina School of the Arts), she proceeded to attend and graduate Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Purchase College with a BFA in dance and a concentration in choreography. She had the pleasure of working with many choreographers while attending both schools, including Camille A. Brown, Brenda Daniels and Bradley Shelver, as well as performing works by Merce Cunnigham. Upon graduation, she has performed all over Massachusetts with many choreographers including Tony Williams, Thomas Vacanti, Maryanne Kodzis, David Sun and Jackie Underwood. She joined Portland Ballet in 2013 and has performed many roles, some including Arabian Coffee, Victorian Doll and Snow Crystal in The Victorian Nutcracker, both Catherine Edwards and Annie Chapman in Shipman s Jack the Ripper, a fairy in Shipman s A Midsummer Night s Dream, the title role of Alice in Roberto Forleo's Alice with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Push Me Pull You, among others.

NICOLE GETCHELL Nicole Getchell, is a graduate of Virginia Intermont College where she received her degree in dance. She then trained with Portland School of Ballet and Andrei Bossov in Waterville, while performing for both Bossov Ballet Theatre and Portland Ballet Company as a principal dancer. Nicole s teaching skills have taken her to Encore Dance Center and Kennebec Dance Center in Augusta, down to Steps in Florida, and back to Maine and the Portland School of Ballet. Her PBC performing credits include Degas, Bolero, Chopin Variations, Les Patineurs, Napoli, The Victorian Nutcracker, Higashi, Paquita, Duke Suite, Carmina Burana, the Capriccio Festival and Portland Dances!

MARY STRIDE Mary is a certified holistic health counselor through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC. She also holds a bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology. In her early years, she was a competitive gymnast. Later she trained in classical ballet (Cechetti and Vaganova) and danced professionally. She performed soloist and principal roles with Portland Ballet, Maine State Ballet, Ballet New England, and with Andrei Bossov, formerly of the Mariinsky. She danced classical roles of Lilac Fairy, Fairy Godmother, Myrtha, Chopiniana s Mazurka, Titania, White Swan pas de deux, Grand Pas Classique, Arabian, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Snow Queen. She performed in numerous contemporary pieces choreographed by renowned dancer, teacher, and choreographer with the Mariinksy, Andrei Bossov. Mary is a frequent guest teacher with a careful eye for classical technique, placement, and artistry. With her knowledge and passion for wellness, along with her personal experiences as an artistic athlete, Mary has a deep understanding of the health and happiness needs of dancers.
