Last Week in Pinkerton Academy Athletics Bass Fishing: September 1st, 2018 Event: 9/1 - Keene High School Bass Team Open - 8am - 2pm - West Alton Marina, Lake Winnipesaukee Team finish: 5th out of 9 boats Total weight: 8.02lbs. Highlights: Logan Berube caught the biggest Smallmouth Bass of the tournament weighing in at 2.37lbs. It was a nice win to start the season. Aleks Carney had 2 goals. Maddy Curley scored 1 goal and a had an assist. Holy Cardoza had 1 goal as well. Eliza Taylor played well on defense. August 30, 2018 Freshmen: Pinkerton 3- Exeter 0 Freshmen Field Hockey beat Exeter on 8/30/2018 with a score of 3-0. Goals scored by Jaclyn Dubray, Sage Wing and Peyton Knowlton. Assists made by Jaclyn Dubray, Lauren Sweeney and Sage Wing. Varsity: Pinkerton 1 - Timberlane 0 Pinkerton beat Timberlane - 1-0 in OT Winning goal scored by Sophomore Emma Johnston, assist to Lily Auger Khaliyah Ellis had 5 saves on the day. We play tomorrow (Wednesday, September 5) home vs. Manchester Memorial at 4:00. JV: Pinkerton 6 - Timberlane 0 Game ball went to Quinn Mailloux for never quitting. Petyon Knowlton had 2 goals along with Jess Johnson. Eliza Taylor and Maddy Curley each scored 1 goal. Alex Carney also added 3 assists. It was a well played game and a team win. Football: August 30, 2018 Freshmen: Pinkerton 36 - Spaulding 16 The Pinkerton Freshman Football team started off the season with a big win over the Red Raiders of Spaulding High School. The offense racked up 330 yards and scored 36

points while the defense shutout little red until late in the 3rd quarter. With Nate Campos at the helm as quarterback, the Astros had drives leading to three touchdowns by Jack Mackiernan, 1 by Riley Spellman and Campos ran one in himself. Dom Breda had a strong game at fullback, driving home a 2 point conversion. The offensive line was anchored by George Nigro III, Bryan Parker, Andrew Minzner, Jason Santuccio, Max Van De Veen, Picasso Bates and Anthony DeSalvo. David Clark the 3rd scored two extra point kicks and the defense, led by Anthony Terrenzio, Caleb Owen, Don Terrio and Russ Patrikas shut out the Raiders for most of the game. Next we they prepare for a matchup against Dover on Thursday at Memorial Field for a 4 pm kick off. August 31, 2018 Varsity: Pinkerton 48 - Spaulding 0 The Pinkerton Astros Varsity Football team started off the season with a win against the Spaulding, Red Raiders. The Astros scored in the first two minutes of a game with a touchdown pass from Goujon to Auger for a 39 yards. The Astros scored three more times to be up 28-0 at half time. The final score of the game was 48-0. The Astros will be travelling to Dover Friday night for their next game. North - 209-0-4 JV: @ Whippoorwill Golf Club - Hudson, NH Team Scores: Pinkerton - 238 Timberlane - 253 Alvirne - 276 The JV golf team opened the season on Friday by defeating Alvirne and Timberlane at Whippoorwill Golf Club in Hudson. Final scores were PA 238, Timberlane 253 and Alvirne 276. Chris Walder led the Astros coming in at 44. He was followed by Rob DeFeo at 46, Tylor Pappalardo 47, Liam Robinson 48 and Matt Lazzaro 49. The Astros return to action on Tuesday traveling to Dover for a 3:15 match at the Cocheco Country Club. They are 2-0 on the young season. Boys Soccer: Monday, August 27th, 2018 Freshman: Pinkerton 1- Exeter 0 Due to weather the game was played with 30 minute halves. After no goals were scored in the first half of play, Sam Dionne scored his first goal of the season assisted by Landon Villenuve. Owen Belanger made 4 saves in the second half of play to record his first shutout on the year. Varsity: Pinkerton 4 - Timberlane 0 Mike Curtin, Henry Andrews, Alex Rust and Conrad Demers each scored goals to help Pinkerton Academy cruise past Timberlane. Rob Douglas, Mac Johnson, Jon Tremblay and Brendan Hanlon anchored the defense to help Max Fairbank earn the shut-out. JV: Pinkerton 8 - Timberlane 2

The Boys JV Soccer team won their first game 8-2 against Timberlane, Friday evening. Girls Soccer: Monday, August 27th, 2018 Freshman: Pinkerton - Exeter Varsity: Pinkerton 2 - Timberlane 1 Pinkerton girls soccer started the season with a 2-1 win over Timberlane. Reagan Kolinski played big in net with 9 saves. Katie Ziniti, Julia Preston, and Tori Peguri played strong in the midfield, creating many chances for the Astros. After a 0-0 first half, Pinkerton came out in the second half to score two goals. Enya Vanasse-Lageaux got her first goal of the season, by playing great defense up top, taking the ball away from a Timberlane defender, and putting it into the back of the net. Later, Enya played a ball through to Sam Franks, who put her first goal of the season away. Timberlane scored on a penalty kick with about six minutes left in the game, but Pinkerton held them off. JV: Pinkerton 6 - Timberlane 0 The lady Astros started off the 2018 season with a strong first game, beating Timberlane 6-0. Goals came from junior Bronwyn Reed, junior Miranda Eckerman, freshman Sawyer Jackson (two on the day with a header goal), freshman Madeline Frank, and sophomore Hannah Borges. The girls take on Winnacunnet Tuesday in their first away game of the year. Girls Volleyball: Varsity: Pinkerton 3 - Memorial 0 Game 1: Pinkerton 25 - Memorial 13 Game 2: Pinkerton 25 - Memorial 13

Game 3: Pinkerton 25 - Memorial 6 The Pinkerton Academy Girls Volleyball team opened their season with a strong 3-0 win over Manchester Memorial. Senior captain, Amelia Graves contributed 8 kills, 13 digs, 9 service points, and 4 aces. Senior middle, Brooke Kane added 5 kills. Junior setter Ella Dandrade had 13 assists and a block, Junior Leya wang had 10 digs and 2 kills and Freshmen Ella Koelb had 15 service points and 8 kills. Senior Kiley Davis and Sophomore Reese Asselin contributed 7 and 9 digs respectively. The 1-0 Astros travel to Alvirne next Wednesday. JV: Pinkerton 2 - Memorial 1 Game 1: Pinkerton 25 - Memorial 13 Game 2: Pinkerton 25 - Memorial 8 Game 3: Pinkerton 15 - Memorial 11 The JV Astros stated off their season strong with a win over Memorial on Friday Night. Freshman Ella Koelb led the Astros from the service line and served 15 points in a row. Sophomore Ella Cashman and Freshmen Sierra Edgecomb played strong defensive games and Sophomore Sarah Taylor and Freshmen Lily Heywood were strong presence at the next. The Astros look forward to their next game away at Alvirne, next Wednesday. Athletes of the Week: Amelia Graves, Senior: Girls Volleyball Amelia Graves led the team to an opening day victory against Manchester Memorial with a team high 8 kills and 4 digs. Logan Berube, Junior: Bass Fishing Logan Berube - won "Lunker Smallmouth Award" catching the biggest Smallmouth Bass of the Lake Winnipesaukee HS Open Tournament on 9/1. Logan caught two of the four keepers for the team, helping Pinkerton to a 5th place finish.
