After the game, the Shorebirds are heading to Greensboro, North Carolina for a showdown with the Grasshoppers starting on Tuesday night. The Birds and Power have become quite familiar with each other - by the end of this day, Delmarva will have played West Virginia in 12 of 18 games since July 28th. The Shorebirds have had a frustrating second half of the year after nearly winning the Northern Division in the first half. West Virginia won the second half last season, and even though they are tied for fourth place, they are only 2.5 games behind Lakewood. The Shorebirds have dropped 11 of their last 14 games, while West Virginia has won nine of it s last 14. That being said, the Shorebirds won two of the first three in this series and have a chance to win the series on Sunday. TONIGHT S OPPONENT: Right-hander Logan Sendelbach gets the ball tonight for West Virginia. Even though the Tiffin, Ohio native only sports a 8-5 record, the Power are 16-5 when he s the starting pitcher this year. Sendelbach was selected out of NCAA Division II Tiffin University last summer in the 10th round of the MLB First Year Player Draft, making him the first player ever drafted out of the university. He s made three appearances against the Shorebirds, going 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA (largely because he lasted just 0.2 innings in his last start with three runs against him). LAST GAME QUICK HITS: The Shorebirds rode Randolph Gassaway s hot bat all night long. He ripped two long home runs and drove in five of the seven runs in a 7-1 win on Saturday night. It was the best night of his young career. Cristian Alvarado continued to steady the pitching staff with his 10th quality start of the season. He earned his ninth win. PLAYER TO WATCH WHO S HOT/WHO ELSE RANDOLPH GASSAWAY OF Randolph Gassaway has burst on to the scene in his first opportunity with Delmarva. The 2013 draft pick has hit safely in 27 of his first 35 games, including a 4-for-5 game last night with two home runs. He is the reigning South Atlantic League Player of the Week. WHO S HOT CEDRIC MULLINS Despite missing a few games with lower back tightness, Mullins has continued to swing a hot bat. He s hit safely in 16 games in a row, which ties the longest hitting streak of the season for a Shorebird. Additionally, he s hit.373 against West Virginia in 14 games. WHO ELSE OFELKY PERALTA Peralta was recently named the Orioles Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July, 2016. He finished July 3-0 with a 2.57 ERA and threw his first career no-hitter.

This will be his 46th start in the South Atlantic League and his 56th career start since being drafted early in the 2014 MLB First Year Player Draft. He was selected in the third round of the draft, but was the Orioles top selection that summer. ARSENAL: 2-Seam Fastball, 4-Seam Fastball, Curve, Circle Change 2015 WITH THE SHOREBIRDS: Gonzalez pitched 105.1 innings in Delmarva last year, starting in each of the 23 games in which he worked. He finished the campaign 4-9 with a 5.71 ERA. Gonzalez finished the season on a sour note, tainting what was otherwise a fairly strong year. He allowed at least four runs in each of his last four outings. Brian has great stuff and was dominating in his four winning decisions. Gonzalez was high school teammates at Archbishop McCarthy in Fort Lauderdale, FL with Cincinnati Reds Top 10 prospect and 1st round draft pick Nick Travieso. Two years after the Reds took Travieso 14th overall, the Orioles selected Gonzalez in the third round (90th overall). Chicago White Sox catcher Alex Avila, Detroit Tigers outfielder Nick Castellanos and Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Danny Farquhar are among the most notable professional baseball players from Archbishop Mc- Carthy. 2016 SINGLE GAME STATS PRO CAREER GAME HIGHS Low Runs: 0, five times Innings: 6.1 twice (both vs. LWD) High Runs: 6, 7/6 vs. LWD Runs: 7 vs. HAG (6/29/15) Low Hit: 2, 5/24 vs. GBO Hits: 8, twice in 2016 High Hits: 9, 7/23 vs. KAN Walks: 6, vs. KAN (4/24/16) Innings: 6.1, 8/9 vs. LWD Strikeouts: 10, vs. GBO (5/24/16) Most Walks: 6, 4/24 vs. KAN Pitches: 98-61 vs. LWD (7/6/16) Strikeouts: 10, 5/24 vs. GBO Hit Batters: 2, 3x (last 5/2/16) 2016 MISCELLANEOUS NUMBERS W L ERA GS IP ER Home 2 5 3.44 10 55.0 21 Road 5 2 1.89 12 66.2 14 Day 0 1 3.94 3 16.0 7 Night 7 6 2.38 19 105.2 28 AVG AB H HR BB SO vs. Left:.189 127 24 0 11 28 vs. Right:.272 323 88 4 38 64 TOTALS:.249 450 112 4 49 92 2016 INNING-BY-INNING Inning ERA IP H R ER HR BB SO AVG GIDP 1 3.27 22.0 24 13 8 2 10 18.293 3 2 1.64 22.0 19 5 4 0 4 14.241 4 3 1.64 22.0 19 4 4 0 9 15.238 1 4 1.23 22.0 15 6 3 0 8 16.195 1 5 3.15 20.0 20 9 7 1 11 17.260 4 6 4.05 13.1 13 6 6 0 6 12.250 1 7 81.00 0.1 2 3 3 1 1 0.667 0 8 9+ 2016 MONTH-BY-MONTH Month Record ERA IP H R ER HR BB SO AVG April 2-0 3.48 20.2 21 10 8 2 10 17.263 May 3-2 1.54 35.0 28 7 6 0 10 34.220 June 0-2 2.89 28.0 25 13 9 0 12 14.238 July 2-2 3.16 25.2 30 13 9 1 14 22.303 August 0-1 2.19 12.1 8 3 3 1 3 5.205 CAREER STATISTICS Season Team W-L ERA IP H R ER HR BB SO 2014 Aberdeen 0-1 5.00 9.0 10 5 5 0 2 11 2015 Delmarva 4-9 5.71 105.2 98 76 67 8 59 81 2016 Delmarva 7-7 2.50 121.2 112 46 35 4 49 92 TOTALS 11-17 3.68 261.1 231 128 107 12 118 209 CAREER AGAINST THE POWER: Gonzalez makes his sixth appearance against West Virginia tonight, but only his third this season. No team frustrated him more in 2015 over three starts - he finished 0-3 with a 14.04 ERA (13 ER in 8.1 IP). This will be the third time in four starts that the lefty faces West Virginia. TUESDAY S PROBABLE: Reid Love is Delmarva s probable starting pitcher tomorrow evening. LAST OUTING: Gonzalez completely dominated through six innings before giving up a 3-run homer in the top of the seventh. That crippled the Shorebirds, who lost the affair 3-1. He had only thrown 54 pitches over the first six innings and had limited Lakewood to three hits during that stretch. Wilson Garcia hit the 3-run homer for the BlueClaws.

Game #120 Delmarva Shorebirds at West Virginia Power (Pirates) Appalchian Power Park MANAGER RYAN MINOR Minor, 42, returns for his eighth season on the Shorebirds coaching staff, and his sixth as the team s manager. In 2015, he led the Shorebirds to 71 wins, the most victories for the franchise since 2009. This is Minor s second stint in Salisbury, having previously managed the Shorebirds for three seasons (2010-12) and spent two seasons (2008-09) as the hitting coach for the Shorebirds. In between, he managed the Frederick Keys (Advanced-A) in 2013. During his tenure as manager of the Shorebirds, the team compiled 302 wins, the most of any Delmarva manager. Minor aided the development of current Orioles, Manny Machado and Jonathan Schoop, who played for the Shorebirds in 2011. Minor, a longtime resident of Salisbury with his wife Allyson and two children Reagan and Finley, enjoyed a four-year run in the major leagues from 1998 through 2001. He spent his first three years with the Orioles and his final season with the Montreal Expos. Minor s playing career is best remembered for replacing Cal Ripken, Jr. at third base on September 20, 1998 when the consecutive games streak of 2,632 came to a close. The Orioles drafted Minor in the 33rd round of the 1996 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Oklahoma. In 1997, he played for Shorebirds and was an SAL All-Star third baseman. He batted.307 with 24 home runs and 97 RBIs. Minor still owns the franchise single season records for doubles (42). Minor also owns a decorated college basketball career. He is seventh all-time in scoring at Oklahoma with 1,946 points. He was selected in the second round (32nd overall) of the 1996 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. In the other 24 games, Delmarva has tallied just nine errors and 54 total errorless games. RUNS PER GAME: Here is a look at what the Shorebirds have done over the last twelve years.
