On March 10th we had the comedy show with ventriloquist Peter Hefty and comedian Santa Bob. The show was great, and everyone had an enjoyable time. On Sunday March 25th, we held a fundraiser for Tim "Waffle" Pollachek which included live music, pulled pork sandwiches, auctions, a 50/50 drawing and gun raffle. The event was well attended, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. A special thanks to Vicki Daub for all her 2017-2018 Officers help in coordinating this worthy fundraiser. A total of $2800 was raised! With the weather turning warmer, more people will be venturing outside, and we are looking forward to utilizing our Pavilion more this year with some cookouts and outdoor jam sessions coming up. A big thank you to our Boy Scouts who have built some great counter tops with shelves and an ice well as part of earning their Eagle ranking. April's Steak night is on Saturday the 14th and the Sons of the American Legion will be stepping up to cook as the normal crew is away. Thanks to Johnnie Wilson and his team! The Post continues to do well and in May, we will have elections for officers...if you ever thought of running for one of our Officer Positions, there are self- nomination sheets taped up around the Bar and back room. Please sign up and run; we need new volunteers and I am sure you will enjoy becoming part of the management team! Speaking of team...our volunteer for the month of March is Ron Hill. Please congratulate him on his continued great contributions to keeping the Post in great working order. Finally, I would once again like to thank all of members who have been volunteering by helping in the kitchen and around the Post. A special thanks to Harry Reid for getting us the great lights for the stage and to Gary Ferguson and Jon Benson for hanging them and getting them working correctly! Our volunteers are truly making American Legion Post 356 a more fun and enjoyable place to visit and come back to. Our Legion team supported by the Auxiliary, Sons and the Riders have been busy this year and will continue through the summer...a big Thank You to all! Remember we are always looking for new members so bring a friend or two with you the next time you come out! As the weather gets warmer, don't forget your sunscreen and try to come out to the Post a few more times this month because when you are at American Legion Post 356 you always look more MARVELOUS!

Soon the weather will start to warm again, and more riding events will be scheduled. One that I know is coming is the Merry-Go-Round, which starts on 1 April and goes to 30 April. This event raises funds for Project Vet Relief. Currently the trophy is in 1 st District, it would be nice to be able to keep it. On a related subject, we get points for new members, so if you know someone who might be interested in joining The American Legion family, sign them up now, they will be voted on in April, neither the sponsor nor the new member has to be a rider, any new members that the Legion. Aux, or SAL get we get credit as a post. Lastly, Elections are coming, and the campaign trail has started. If you are interested in holding a position in the Legion Riders CH 356, please put your name on the Self Nomination sheet. There is one on the board near the front door, and one in the back room on the Riders cabinet. Ride Safe and watch for Spring Breakers. Shannon Daub Director FL-ALR CH 356
