PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Hi all! I hope everyone had a happy and festive Thanksgiving. As for myself, I intended to eat a little more lean turkey and a little less cranberry sauce, gravy, and pumpkin pie. Sadly it turned out to be just the opposite. So it s back to the treadmill. Thanksgiving is just the start of the holiday season. At GMSC, we have at least three great events planned for the month of December. Not the least of which will be the Holiday Party at my house on December 10. I always do my best to put on a great party and I look forward to seeing you. Details are on page one, but please RSVP so I know how many to expect. In addition we are working with the Skiwi Ski Club on their annual Christmas Dance at the Polish Cultural Center. This is sure to be another great occasion. Lastly, we are planning a New Year s Eve Bash with the Successfully Single Club. Details on all these events can be found in this newsletter, so be sure to soak up every page. Please note a slight change for the December General Meeting. Once again, we will be meeting at Bahama Breeze, but we will be in the back room (not the Atrium Room). This was worked out well in advance, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware of it. Please ask the hostess if you have any questions. And wear your Christmas sweaters! There are a lot of questions about our recent monthly Pub & Grub and Restaurant Of The Month outings. We have had mid-week outings to land some opportunities not available on the weekends. For example, we will be going to Luciano s Restaurant on December 14th for some great Italian food. Venues like this are nearly impossible to get into on a weekend. In the future, we will continue this where it makes sense, and returning to Fridays and/or Saturdays when possible. Either way, please note, we are striving for great opportunities for our members and friends. We look forward to your continued participation. That s it for now. Everyone have a safe and happy Holiday Season. Darrell Ahlberg, President, GM Ski Club Luciano s Wed, Dec 14 6:30pm 39091 Garfield Rd, Clinton Twp. HALLOWEEN PARTY

Sands Bash The 17th Annual Sands Bash is now history and it was a successful event put on by the Nautimile organization. It was at a new venue this year The Lakeland Banquet and Event Center in St. Clair Shores. We had 40 people attend (2 tables of GM Ski Club members & 2 tables of Skiwis members) and we had a pretty good table location right next to the band, the dance floor, the main door where people entered, and next to the bar. As we entered, most people got their picture taken by the Life Ring and the Dinghy which was raffled off. During the cocktail hour, most people were checking out the raffle baskets (auction) or buying tickets for the 50/50 raffle a couple of GM Ski Club members won a couple of prizes. This benefitted the Wigs 4 Kids organzation. Maggie Varney (Founder/CEO) and Jaeleen Davis (Recipient/Singer) gave a nice overview of the Wigs 4 Kids organization. An excellent buffet dinner was served and everybody had their fill. Then the music and dancing began we were entertained by the George Brothers Band. The dance floor was busy all night long and everybody enjoyed the band. Article written by John Zalewski. Photos published in the newsletter and the website gallery provided by John Zalewski, Beth Kish, and Laura Smith.
