PAC Calendar Jan 2019 Mon 21 7:30pm - 9:30pm General Meeting - Pakenham Golf Club. Meals & Drinks Available from 6pm. Property Report After reporting last month that the lease on the Key Lane site would be delayed until March it now seems it will be closer to May, if all goes well. So that s some of the bad news out of the way. The good news is that we have been able to negotiate a short-term agreement with Cardinia Shire to allow us access to the site to make a start on the clean-up process. The further bad news is that this agreement has a clause requiring us to have Public Liability insurance cover on the property. In spite of (or perhaps because of) starting the process of obtaining the appropriate cover on 18th December it is only as this report goes to print that I can confirm we can obtain the required level of insurance. With that hurdle now behind us, I m hoping we will have access to the site within the next week or so. I will update the situation at the club night on the 21st. With an increasing amount of time spent at Committee meetings dealing with property issues, it has been decided to form a Property subcommittee to come up with recommendations to put to the committee regarding a development plan. With the lease now not due to be finalized until May I would envisage the first meeting of this group would be late March or early April. If you are interested in being a member of the group or have some skills that would be useful please send an email to grounds@pakenhamautoclub.org.au and I will get back to you when we get organized. Working Bee I ve scheduled a working bee for the 20th January, tasks we need to tackle are mainly in preparation for the busy schedule in February, where we have two events within two weeks. We need to bolt more tyre bundles together, everything needed will be supplied except perhaps 13mm socket spanners so if you have those available bring them along. The other job, which has been put off for a while now, is dismantling the grader so that I can take the parts home with me to repair. We will need a porta power with about a metre of extensions for this job. I think I have access to this equipment, but if you have one and can come along give me a call, everything else to do the job I will bring. There will be a lot of grass to cut and tidied so a whipper snipper might be useful. We will kick off about 10.00am and I ll put some sausages on the barby about 12:30 and with a bit of luck and enthusiasm we should be heading home by around 3:00pm John Hill 5625 4049 2 P a g e

Speed Report Rally Report George Woods Rally 2019 The 2019 George Woods Introductory Rally will be conducted on the afternoon and evening of 23 February 2019. The event is a Multi-Club Special Stage Introductory Rally. It will incorporate the Rookies Ramble, a shorter, daylight only, event for Novice and Rookie competitors only. Graded competitors are encouraged to enter the George Woods Introductory Rally with a novice driver or navigator as this is the best way for a new competitor to learn. A training session for new competitors (and other interested parties) will be held, on the 8th February. at CAMS State Meeting Room 821 Dandenong Road, Malvern East. For over 30 years the George Woods Introductory Rally has introduced new competitors to the sport of rallying. This is still the primary role of the 2019 event. However, the 2019 George Woods Rally will also be Round 1 of the Historic Rally Association (HRA) 2019 Resto Country Spares Standard Car Challenge. The Entry Fee is $230; an Early Bird Discount of $50 applies for complete entries received before the ballot. The Early Bird Discount will be refunded to such entries. The Event will be run in two divisions. Division 1 will run in daylight over approximately 45 kilometres competitive and 15 kilometres transport. It will be fully route charted with tulip diagrams. Division 2 will run after sunset over approximately 55 kilometres competitive and 25 kilometres transport. It will incorporate both route charts and simple map reading stages. The Rookies Ramble will run only over Division 1. Start, Service and finish will be at Powelltown Recreation Reserve where food and drinks will be on sale. Supplementary Regulations are available on the following websites, George Woods (www.georgewoodsnovicerally.wordpress.com/), VicRally (www.vicrally.com.au) and HRA (www.hra.org.au). Further information contact Glad Fish, Clerk of Course, gladfish@netspace.net.au or 0410148058. 3 P a g e
