THURSDAY TOURNAMENTS & EVENTS To participate in weekly events, you MUST BE A MEMBER of the Willowbrook Women s Golf Association and have a USGA handicap. All cancellations must be called into the Pro Shop. Thursday s flight winners will be posted weekly. All trophy events are played using a maximum handicap of 44. In the event of a tie in any trophy event, there will be a SUDDEN DEATH play-off with NO runners up. Those who tie must remain to play or forfeit. If inclement weather interrupts and event, there will be a one-hour delay before the event is cancelled. Players are expected to remain at the club until the event is officially cancelled! A minimum of nine (9) members must start the round to constitute an event. A golf event can only be cancelled at the discretion of the Pro and/or the Events Chairwoman. If the course is deemed playable, the event will go on. Birdies and Chip-Ins may be posted even if the full 18 holes have not been completed providing they were made on regular greens. PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST ½ HOUR BEFORE STARTING TIME!!!

RINGERS, BIRDIES, and CHIP-INS LEAGUE PLAY ONLY A ringer is the lowest score you can make on each hole during the season. Each player will post her own ringers weekly. Qualifying ringers are from a completed 18-hole round only. Any improved score on your ringer card (after the initial posting) must also be circled on your scorecard. Be sure your first name, last name and date are on your signed scorecard before placing it in the Ringer Box. A signed and dated scorecard MUST be turned in weekly to receive credit for ringers. Ringer score competition begins on Opening Day and runs through the week before Closing Day. Should an event be shortened to a 9-hole event due to inclement weather, ringers may be posted only if everyone has played the same 9 holes. Birdies and chip-ins may be posted regardless of how many holes have been played provided they were made on regular greens. NO ringers, birdies, or chip-ins will be posted on any temporary greens. A special award is given to anyone getting an EAGLE or a Hole-In-One during Thursday league play. HANDICAPS The Pro Shop will compute handicaps the 1 st and 15 th day of each month during the active golf season (April 1 to October 31) using the GHIN System. Handicaps are based on stroke-controlled scores. Persons participating in club events must have a current USGA handicap, which requires five 18-hole rounds or a combination of posted 9-hole scores. Please post all scores immediately after your round, posting a T for any trophy or tournament scores. All trophy events will be played using a maximum handicap of 44. WEEKLY SIGN-UP PROCEDURES If you plan to play in the Thursday morning scheduled event, sign in beside your name on the sign-up sheet for that event. This will eliminate members signing up more than once since you can easily see if you are already signed in. Thursday s pairings are usually done by Wednesday afternoon. The Pro Shop determines all pairings and starting time assignments You will receive an email from the Pro Shop with the tee times for Thursday morning. Should there be a rain delay, members should not linger in the Pro Shop while waiting for further instructions. The Pro Shop needs to maintain some kind of business normalcy to do their job. PACE OF PLAY ~~~~~ Suggestions to help prevent slow play ~~~~~ PLAN YOUR SHOT while riding to your ball or while others are playing. BE READY when it is your turn. Go directly to your ball, DON T FOLLOW OTHERS unless searching for a lost ball. Be efficient with your pre-shot routine take only ONE practice swing. PLAY A PROVISIONAL BALL if you think your original ball might be lost or out of bounds. Place your clubs on the SIDE OF THE GREEN where you will exit. Exit the putting green PROMPTLY after holing out. DO NOT CLEAN or put your clubs away before entering your cart, do it AFTER arriving at the next tee box as well as marking in the scores. You should ALWAYS keep up with the group in front of you. If you lag behind for any reason or are searching for a lost ball, please signal the group behind to play through.
