Natonal Development Plan 9 5.3 General Restrctons 5.3.1 It s fbdden f women pars and women's groups to wk on the back of the neck (except where there are two ponts of suppt) top of the head. 5.3.2 Men may not perfm Mexcan rng handstands. 5.3.3 catch to wrap (.e. legs astrde the hps of the base) may only be perfmed wth straght legs and s fbdden f men. 5.3.4 In mxed pars the base must always be the male. 5.3.5 Landngs must be suppted f all dynamc elements unless otherwse stated n the NDP Tables of Dffculty. 5.4 General Specal Requrements 5.4.1 One par/group element must be perfmed from each row n the Tables of Dffculty, except f Grade 5 Men's Groups alance where only three elements are requred to be selected from dfferent rows respectvely. 5.4.2 ll par/group balance elements must be held f a mnmum of 3 ( ) seconds unless otherwse stated n the NDP Tables of Dffculty. 5.4.3 When a mount a moton s declared f dffculty credt, the fnal poston must be held f 3 seconds. 5.4.4 Indvdual elements wth a statc hold ('Stand') must be unsuppted by partners to be consdered f dffculty value. These elements must be held f 2 ( ) seconds. 5.4.5 Each partner of a par group must perfm a maxmum of three ndvdual elements, one from each row, from Tables of Dffculty. 5.4.6 ll partners do not need to perfm the same ndvdual but they must perfm ndvduals from the same row ether smultaneously n mmedate successon but they cannot overlap. E.g. back-walkover cut to splts, then a hold n splts, counts as one element, not two separate elements. 5.5 Grade 5 and IDP Pars alance - Specal Requrements The followng apples to both Grade 5 and IDP unless specfcally stated: 5.5.1 IDP Pars alance exercses must contan a mnmum of 5 elements and maxmum of 8 elements from the FIG ToD 5.5.2 n unsuppted handstand must be perfmed by the top n a mnmum of 1 element and held f 3 seconds. 5.5.3 Top planche does not fufl the Specal Requrement of an unsuppted handstand. 16 November 2016 Verson: 1.1

5.6 Restrctons f Pars alance Natonal Development Plan 9 5.6.1 The top can receve dffculty value f the same poston n the whole exercse 2 tmes f a statc hold and 2 tmes durng the moton of a ase. 5.6.2 The bases may not repeat an dentcal moton, regardless of the poston of the Top. 5.6.3 t the end of a moton to the flo by the base, e.g. to st to splts, a hand hands used to assst the moton must be lfted from the flo f the statc hold. If the hand remans on the flo durng a statc hold, a techncal penalty of 0.5 s taken f addtonal suppt. 5.7 Grade 5 and IDP Group alance - Specal Requrements The followng apples to both Grade 5 and IDP unless specfcally stated: 5.7.1 IDP Group balance exercses must nclude a mnmum of 2 dfferent categy pyramds from the FIG ToD. 5.7.2 In Men's Groups, an alternatve to one pyramd, a sngle par element may be selected from the same level Pars Table of Dffculty provded t s perfmed by two pars smultaneously n mmedate successon. The par elements perfmed must be dentcal and receve the same dffculty as n pars although dffculty s f each par perfmng the balance. 5.7.3 The value of motons can be used n addton to the statc holds f Grade 5 and IDP Group elements. 5.7.4 Group balance exercses must nclude a mnmum of 3 x 3 ( ) seconds statc holds. 5.7.5 n unsuppted handstand (handstand poston s optonal) must be perfmed by the top n a mnmum of 1 pyramd and held f 3 seconds. Ths specal requrement cannot be fulflled by another partner actng as the top. The entry nto an unsuppted handstand s optonal. 5.7.6 Top planche does not fufl the Specal Requrement of an unsuppted handstand. 5.8 Restrctons f Groups alance 5.8.1 The top can receve dffculty value f the same poston n the whole exercse 2 tmes f a statc hold. 5.8.2 Categy 2 pyramds are pyramds wth 2 tops wkng. In ths specal categy, 1 of the tops may change poston and receve full dffculty value f the moton and the new statc hold, even f the poston of the second top and base remans unchanged. However, f the second top does not change poston, they receve dffculty value f the statc hold only one tme. (The base poston s also only gven dffculty value only one tme.) 5.8.3 Transtonal pyramds: t least one mddle and/ base must change the pont of suppt f a transton value to be gven. t least one box of the FIG Tables of Dffculty must change. F evaluaton of the whole transtonal pyramd, all base values are gven. 17 November 2016 Verson: 1.1

Natonal Development Plan 9 5.8.4 In a transtonal pyramd: When the top does not change poston durng a transton of the bases, the start poston s used to determne the dffculty value of the top. When a top changes poston durng a transton, the dffculty value of the transton s calculated as the value of the start poston of the top, plus the moton of the top, plus the transton value, plus the fnal statc hold and base poston. The top s not allowed to use an addtonal pont of suppt durng a transton. 5.8.5 There s no requrement f the top to hold the same poston durng the moton and on the fnal pyramd. E.g. a top may be n a straddle poston durng the transton and then press to handstand f the fnal hold. 5.9 Restrctons f Grade 5 and IDP Pars and Group Dynamc 5.9.1 IDP Pars and Groups Dynamc exercse must contan a mnmum 6 elements and maxmum of 8 elements from the FIG ToD 5.9.2 Not me than 3 dsmounts can be used. 5.9.3 Not me than 3 hzontal catch postons wll be evaluated f dffculty. 5.9.4 Not me than 3 lnks wll be evaluated n one exercse. 5.9.5 Not me than 3 dentcal start ponts. 5.9.6 Not me than 3 dentcal catch postons. 5.9.7 No me than 4 of the same start postons from platfm wll be evaluated f dffculty. 5.9.8 Not me than 5 landngs (dsmounts PLUS dynamc elements) on the flo. 5.9.9 Not me than 4 elements f dffculty can be perfmed n a seres n mmedate successon. 5.9.10 In Women s Groups all 3 partners must be actvely nvolved f an element to be evaluated f dffculty. 5.9.11 In Men's Groups only a change of partners durng flght phase s not consdered to be an dentcal element as the same element wthout a change of partners. 5.9.12 In Men's Groups Only 1 element perfmed by the 3 actve partners, wth the fourth not partcpatng n the element, may count towards the dffculty value. ssstng the landng n a dsmount s NOT consdered to be an actve role. 5.9.13 In Men's Groups Only 1 element executed by the Men s Group wkng as two pars, smultaneously n mmedate successon, wll be evaluated f dffculty. The dffculty value of the par element s added. (The values are taken from the pars Tables of Dffculty.) 5.9.14 In Men's Groups Only 1 element wth a throw of 1 partner by the 3 actng together may be credted wth dffculty. 5.9.15 In Men's Groups Only 1 dynamc element wth a catch of 1 partner by the 3 actng together. 18 November 2016 Verson: 1.1

Natonal Development Plan 9 1 Clarfcaton on Shapes and Postons One of the purposes of the Natonal Development Plan s to show the development route f the gymnasts and partnershps, shapes and postons have a substantal role n ths. It s not always clear when and f shapes and postons are deductble, therefe the followng descrptons am to clarfy some of the key acrobatc shapes and postons. The fgures n the NDP Tables of Dffculty are f llustraton purposes and do not always show the crect techncal shapes and postons. F example, many shapes and postons are shown wth a slghtly arched back, ths s to hghlght whch way the gymnast s facng, rather than to demonstrate the crect shape poston. 1.1 Descrpton f common shapes and postons 1. Top stance The whole body should be fully extended, flat stomach, shoulders down and body vertcal, unless n a counter balance suppted balance. In general the arm poston s optonal, as long as the rest of body poston s not broken. 2. ase stance Same as the Top. 3. Sht arm holds - ll sht arm holds should be perfmed wth the ase's hands free of the shoulders. 4. Long arm holds - When supptng on long arm(s) shoulder(s) should also be fully extended. 5. Stand on thghs - When supptng the partner the upper body should be flat and vertcal. There should be no leanng of the ase s upper body towards the partner rrespectve of whether the ase s holdng the partner by the hands not. - In a counterbalance the body should be flat and leanng backward. The lean should be proptonal to the amount of counterbalance. 6. Handstand The shoulders and hps should be fully extended wth the upper body flat and vertcal. 7. Half lever The upper body should be flat and vertcal wth the leg rased hzontal just above. 8. Straddle lever The upper body should be flat wth the hps near the arms but wthout touchng them and the legs rased hzontal slghtly above. 9. Russan lever The legs should be at least vertcal whether together apart and the upper body flat wth a slght slant backwards. 10. Planche The body should am to be hzontal and fully extended from the shoulders to the feet. slght hyperextenson of hps s accepted. If the poston s 45 degrees me above the hzontal the element s not recognsed a planche. 11. Flag The arch n hps and spne s strctly sdeways. The legs should be hzontal slghtly below. If the legs are splt both feet are to be levelled at slghtly below the hp level. 12. Crocodle The body should be arched wth the head and feet at the same level and clearly above the hps. 13. One arm handstand The supptng arm should be vertcal wth the whole body tlted off the vertcal around the supptng shoulder wthout changng ts geometrcal shape. The legs can be together apart but t s recommended when the legs are apart that the rght leg and left arm are hzontal and the left leg approxmately 30 degrees off the vertcal (f suppted on rght arm). November 2016 Verson: 1.1 2

Natonal Development Plan 9 14. Mexcan: There are two versons - Verson 1 smooth curve nvolvng the shoulders, spne and hps. The legs should be hzontal. - Verson 2 The shoulder s not nvolved n the curve, but should be above the hands. The legs should be hzontal. 15. Goofus/Yog Whether on two arms one arm, the arms must be vertcal and hps flexed to ensure that the legs are hzontal and the shoulders must be hyperextended wth the head pushed fwards. 16. ack angel - The whole body should be n a contnuous controlled arch poston from the feet to the head. It s preferable f the shoulders and arms to also be ncluded n the curve so that the curve ends at the hands. 17. Front angel Ths s smlar to back angel. The shoulders and the feet should be at the same heght and a clear curve must be shown, the hgher the better. 18. Straght salto shape In a straght salto the hps and knees should be extended to 180* degrees wth the upper body flat. dshed shape means that the shoulders are too rounded and head s to the chest, whch leads to the jump beng cut-off, decreasng the rotaton momentum and over tme resultng n problems wth the salto. n arched shape (slght hyperextenson of the hps) at take-off s good provdng the upper body remans flat. 19. Platfm cradle The upper body should be flat and uprght. Durng the throw and catch, there should be no lean of the ase s tsos nto each other. 20. Hurdle step Ths s a common approach used f elements such as handsprng and round off. The shoulders must be fully extended and reman lke ths untll the hands touch the flo. 21. Handstand full turn The body should be fully extended. The turn should be on the spot wth the hands steppng on the 4 cners of the square wth the body stayng n the mddle. These are just a few examples f the most popular elements, but the prncples they llustrate should be used n all elements to beneft the gymnasts development. November 2016 Verson: 1.1 3
