I hope each of you have had a wonderful holiday season and are now looking forward to the New Year and all the fun and camaraderie BYSC has to offer. Wed. Jan 20 BYSC Line Dancing 10am Fri.. A huge time was had by all and it was a great success. I would like to once again welcome the many new members to the club 2015 was a year of growth for BYSC, so there are a lot of new faces among us. I encourage everyone, old and new members, to participate in a variety of the activities, events and informal gatherings that are ongoing throughout the year at our club come on out, meet people, get involved, you will have a good time. And on that note, look through this issue of Bow Watch or go to the club website and you will see there are a lot of activities to choose from at the club during this slow season. It really is NOT too cold to enjoy the water or to play some tennis or to volunteer for a work day or club project. The river is generally not quite as busy now so it is actually a nice time of year for boating/sailing/ fishing/kayaking/rowing/sup ing. As always, it is your club, come enjoy it. General Manager s Message: Mitch McGuigan Welcome to 2016!! Even though it is winter, there is lots going on at the club. We have heaters on the porch so that members can enjoy Sunset Friday, Steak Night and of course the Super Bowl Chili Cook-off on Sunday, February 7. Scroll down in Bow Watch for details. It is soooo... warm out, that grass is even growing on the septic field. More than a few members have asked that it become the club s official bocce-ball court. The Junior Sailing of Beaufort Oyster Roast on January 1 was a great success. It was nice to see so many club members ring in the new year. The oysters, chicken and pulled pork were perfect and once again Captain Irons (aka Ricky Akers) entertained the crowd and opened wallets. Proceeds support Junior Sailing of Beaufort.
