Crayola ColorCycle Grissom Patriots are collecting used markers and highlighters (any brand) to be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more! Green collection boxes will be in each classroom and on the bench outside the Commons. The program can keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year. Remember, don t throw out that used marker ColorCycle it!
Box Tops for Education The PE department is collecting Box Tops for Education. Please turn them in to your PE/Health teacher.

Special Olympic Basketball Our District 140 Special Olympic Basketball Team will play at Grissom on Wednesday, Nov. 28 th at 6 pm. They will also play at Prairie View on Thursday, Dec. 13 th. Come on out and support your team!!
Cheer/Dance All students interested in trying out for Cheer/Dance must attend the clinic on Tuesday, Dec. 4 th. Tryouts will be held after school on Wednesday, Dec. 5 th. Permission forms are in the rack outside the Main Office and must be turned in to Mrs. Griffin (Room 210) no later than Friday, Nov. 30 th.
Jazz Band Jazz Band rehearses every Wednesday from 4:00-5:15 at Prairie View.
You Can Do the Cube Returns! Beginning Nov. 26 th in the Media Center, you may borrow a Rubik s Cube to help complete a mosaic image. In order to participate, you must meet the following requirements: *No fines! *No overdue books! *You must have your ID with you!

Family Reading Night Tonight, Grissom will be celebrating Family Reading Night. Turn off the TV and devices and read for 20 minutes. A $10 Book Fair certificate will be awarded to one lucky student and staff member who participate. Return your signed slip to your Reading teacher no later than Thursday!

Respond Now Clothing Drive Student Council is sponsoring a winter clothing drive through November 16th. Please consider donating new or gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, mittens or scarves to help those in need. There is a collection box outside the Commons.
Mathletes Interested in Mathletes?? The initial test/tryout for the team will be after school on Wednesday, Nov. 28 th and Thursday, Nov. 29 th in Room 222. You only need to come one of the two days. See Mrs. LaPlant in Room 222 if you have questions.
6 th /7 th Boys Volleyball The Patriots defeated Jerling yesterday to improve to 8-1 on the season! Grantas Sakenis and Evan Dickinson led the way in the victory!

Intramurals Intramural sports are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:30. Volleyball intramurals are held on Tuesday, and Basketball intramurals are held on Thursday. *Last Week! *Last Week!
Ronald McDonald House Charities Grissom is once again collecting pop tabs to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities! The pop tabs are recycled and sold for scrap metal. Last year, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana raised more than $40,000 from this program. There is a collection box on the bench outside the Commons for your donations.
Student Support Student Support is held in the Media Center before school every day from 8:00 8:35 and after school Monday through Thursday from 3:10-4:05. Please be sure to bring your work with you! You will need to sign in and stay the entire time. If you are a bus rider, please remember to sign up for the activity bus that day!
Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge Last year Grissom Patriots saved 10,263 plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills by using the water bottle filling stations throughout the building. So far this year, we have saved 4,043 bottles! Please remember to use these instead of plastic bottles!
