RHOD GILBERT S WORK EXPERIENCE: DRAG ARTIST Monday, May 21, BBC One Wales, 10.35pm Waxed, plucked, and wearing a false bottom and breasts, comedian Rhod Gilbert is about to tackle work experience as a woman as he tries his hand at being a drag artist. Rhod tries out his alter ego Rachel in a local bar, admitting that his new feminine attributes are already making him walk and stand differently, before meeting his drag mentor, internationally known female impersonator Ceri Dupree for a few more tips. But when Rhod s attempt to try out a Shirley Bassey routine leaves Ceri fearing no one will want to spend a little time with him, Rhod gives Rachel a chance to shine - even if he can only do it by pretending she s got really drunk at an office party. But what will the audience at Rhydyfelin nonpolitical club make of the transformation? Jenny Walford
WALES IN FOUR SEASONS: WINTER Wednesday, May 22, BBC One Wales, 10.45pm In the last programme of the series, Renee Godfrey looks at winter in Wales. It s up north to Gareth Wyn Jones farm in Llanfairfechan first, where she finds him and his fellow farmers enjoying a rare day out shooting. It s a local shoot, and gives everyone the opportunity to catch-up and have some banter and fun with family and friends. It s not so relaxed in Crickhowell as the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team do some night time training in preparation of that next callout, which can happen at any time of day, in any weather. In Aberdovey, champion surfer Renee is given a challenge that s enough to turn her knees blue, as Mike Alexander of the Outdoor Swimming Society takes her swimming in the cold February seas. But it s the warm winter that s causing problems in Aberglasney gardens as the mildest winter in years makes strange things happen in the plant world. Mari Williams
DEMENTIA: MAKING A DIFFERENCE Thursday, May 24, BBC Two Wales, 10pm It s forecast that one in three people over 65 will develop dementia, so scientific research that will lead to the development of treatments is crucial. Dementia: Making a Difference meets a variety of people striving for a better understanding of the condition, but determined that even with this diagnosis, life is there to be enjoyed. Jerry and Shirley from Newbridge and Norman and Betty from Cardiff are just two of the couples featured who share their stories and have managed to find groups which offer them support, singing, and other activities which can help to stir memories. The programme also meets Professor Julie Williams, from Cardiff s University Hospital, who is getting the world s leading experts to put aside their usual competition for funding and research papers to work together to find the genetic causes for the condition. POBOL Y CWM Llun-Gwener, Mai 21-25, BBC Cymru ar S4C, 8pm Monday-Friday, May 21-25, BBC Wales on S4C, 8pm bbc.co.uk/pobolycwm Daw r amser i Gwyneth benderfynu p un ai yw hi am ymladd y cancr ai peidio. Mewn gwirionedd, does dim dewis os yw hi am fod yna i w theulu doed a ddelo. Yn ôl y meddyg mae ganddi opsiynau, a r mwyaf gobeithiol er mwyn cael gwared ar y cancr i gyd yw hysterectomi - llawdriniaeth ddifrifol fyddai n golygu na all fyth gario plant eto. Heb unrhyw drafodaeth am y sefyllfa gydag Yvonne, gwna Gwyneth benderfyniad yn y fan a r lle, sy n gwneud eu perthynas yn fwy bregus. Er iddo gymryd peth amser mae Debbie wedi sylweddoli fod yna bethau pwysicach nag arian mewn bywyd. Ceisia egluro wrth Kevin fod ei theimladau tuag ato yn dwysau ond dywed yntau yn bur gyflym mai ychydig bach o hwyl yw eu perthynas iddo fe. Wrth iddi geisio dianc mewn anniddigrwydd o r caffi, mae n cwympo lawr y grisiau ac yn torri ei braich. Ond yn hytrach na mynnu iawndal gan ei chyflogwr, mae n teimlo y gallai hyn ddod â nhw n agosach at ei gilydd wrth iddi gamddehongli ei gynnig am swper. Gan sylweddoli ei bod hi n rhy hwyr iddi wneud unrhyw beth am ei harholiadau, mae Gemma yn canolbwyntio ar fwynhau ei hunan. Ond gwyr hi hefyd nad yw ei gwaith yn y Deri yn ddigon i w hariannu dros yr haf. Ymddengys fod Gemma yn dda iawn am guddio pethau a dweud celwyddau wrth Ed. The time has come for Gwyneth to decide whether she s going to fight her cancer or not. But when it comes to the crunch, she has no choice as she must do all that she can for her family. The doctor tells her what her options are, and it seems the best one, which would almost ensure that the cancer wouldn t return, is a hysterectomy - a big operation which would end any possibility of ever carrying a child. Without any discussion with Yvonne, she makes a decision there and then which puts them on even shakier ground. It s taken a while, but the penny has finally dropped for Debbie - there are more important things in life than money. She opens her heart to Kevin and tells him that her feelings for him are deepening, but he hastily explains that he doesn t feel the same. As she tries to flee the café in blushing anger, she falls down the stairs and breaks her arm. But instead of looking for blame and some compensation, Debbie feels that this might actually bring them closer together and reads more into his offer of dinner than was intended. Realising that she s left it too late to learn anything for her exams, Gemma concentrates on having a good time. But surely she hasn t been working enough shifts at the Deri to fund her lifestyle? It seems that Gemma is very good at lying and hiding things. Meleri Thomas
