TIMBERS SOON TO BE SHIVERED Year 2 East Freo Gala Day The Sharks Auskick Gala Day was a fantastic opportunity for our Yr 2 s to take to Shark Park! ATOM Stadium and participate in Auskick Grid Games on Sunday June 12 th 2016 Our three year 2 teams played four different games of 15 minutes, we were very fortunate with the weather and the kids were fortunate to have East Fremantle Colts and senior players attending the day to umpire all games. The Year 2 Blue team for the first time was able to wear their new jumpers and Blimey! Didn t they look the part? SALTY DOG OF THE WEEK NAME: Jake Webber PWJFC TEAM: Year 5 Orange FAVOURITE FOOTY TEAM: Eagles FAVOURITE FOOTY PLAYER: Matt Priddis WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?: A Footy Player or work with Animals. The day was action packed, full of fun and laughter; our team flags stood out and our kids did a great job representing our club. They all competed well with some very skillful passages of play and great goals. FUN FACT ABOUT ME: I love Star Wars and anything to do with Star Wars. Well done to our boys and girls that participated on the day, you should be very proud of yourselves. Go Pirates!! Auskick Coordinator - Pat Galvin Parent Raffle - Winner Thank you to all the Parents that help in our Canteen, around the grounds, and at BBQs. Construction is well underway with the central park due for completion late July. HOW THE TEAMS ARE SAILING YEAR 5 ORANGE The Year 5 Pirates have now played 6 games, mostly at home, which is good for the parents. We have grown from 11 players at the start of the season to now currently having 15 players and with injuries and illness Rd 6 was the first time we had all 15 players on the park. We have 3 players that have never played AFL before including our only girl in the team Bekah who gives as good as the boys. Although results have not always gone our way so far this season we have always played within the spirit of the game and the players have always given 100%. Our skills are improving within every training session and have set good foundations for future seasons. At the recent local schools inter school carnival we had 10 of ours players picked for Harrisdale PS (even though it was a year 6 competition) and each player not only represented their schools, but also our club in a high standard. KEEP IN TOUCH!!! We can be proud of the year 5 Pirates as the oldest playing group at the club and they give the younger players someone local to look up too. Coach Greg Webber
