More than just a series ProKart has cemented itself as home for many of the country's KZ2 entrants. Drivers from all over the country will be drawn to New Zealand s top facilities and join their fellow competitors in the biggest KZ2 fields every year. In its 18th year, this shifter kart series will once again prove that a true champion will be crowned after 5 rounds where all races count. The Team at ProKart appreciate how valuable your time is and so, will be doing its utmost to deliver once again NZs best KZ2 experience. SB Promotions will do its best to deliver the 5 Rounds to the stated formats and time lines provided. However due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, SB Promotions in conjunction with the event Race Officials, reserves the right to change the race distance at any round if needed. All the round dates have been approved by the host clubs, however, should a situation arise outside our control, a round date or venue may change or be cancelled. Should this occur all registered competitors will be notified well in advance of the round concerned.
Supplementary Rules 1820SP(c) P2 The will be run as a series of Group E events. The regulations, codes, rules, procedures and specifications of KartSport New Zealand apply as do any supplementary rules that the host clubs may have pertaining to their round plus these series supplementary rules. RULE NUMBER REFERENCES All references within this documentation to KartSport New Zealand rule numbers refer to the 2017 Manual but will be applied under the corresponding rules of the 2018 Manual. 01. CLASSES AND LICENCE RATINGS As per KartSport New Zealand racing rules & technical specifications. The ProKart Series for 2018 will run 3 groups Group 1 - KZ2 as per rule E3.2.5 Group 2 - KZ2 Masters as per rule E4.2.5 Group 3 - KZ4 as per rule E4.2.6 (the spec rear axle and tuning kits are available from the promoter) Please read the rule restrictions for this class in advance of entering. KZ2 Masters & KZ4 classes will be combined if the required numbers to run separately are not reached. A minimum of Tier 2 sprint rating is required for the. 02. SERIES TYRES As per KartSport New Zealand Rule L3.5 (b) Dry: Vega XM Prime - (11/p/19 Front - 12/p/19 Rear) Wet: Any tyre from the CIK homologated Wet classification tyre, 2011-13 or 2014-16 or 2017-19 list. 03. TECHNICAL INSPECTION Technical inspection for the ProKart Series may happen at any time during the event as per Kartsport New Zealand rules, procedures and specifications. 04. STARTS Will be by standing start rule J2.8 The series promoter would like all competitors to make themselves aware of the correct starting procedure as time penalties will be in place for start infringements. 05. RUNNING IN ENGINES ON TRACK Please note: Rule L2.10 Running in Plate: Competitors running in engines during testing, practice, or tuning runs must place a red cross over their rear number plate, (cross tape width: 25mm minimum) 06. SAFETY AT THE TRACK Due to the ever increasing awareness of Health and Safety we ask all competitors, guardians, friends and associated help to please be aware of any hazards during the series at the host clubs facility. 07. NOISE CONTROL As per KartSport New Zealand rules, every KZ2/ KZ4 competitor must have a current CIK-FIA homologated exhaust silencer fitted. N4.7 INLET SILENCER: An inlet silencer currently or previously homologated by the CIK-FIA is mandatory (NOTE: deleted CIK-FIA homologation 27/SA/24 is permitted for competition in New Zealand until 31 December 2024). An internal air filter is compulsory in CIK homologated silencers. For KZ2 ducts of 30 mm maximum. It is permitted to trim the internal portion of the rubber connector on CIK homologated inlet silencers. Variable volume air boxes are forbidden. It is the competitor s responsibility to supply the homologation form for the intake silencer. 08. CONDUCT The ProKart Series promoters will have a zero tolerance to unacceptable behaviour. Any competitor or associated person that brings this series into disrepute (in the sole view of the promoter) or contributes towards verbal or physical abuse against anyone, may find themselves facing disciplinary action.
Supplementary Rules 1820SP(c) P3 SERIES POINTS At the conclusion of the technical inspection points will be awarded for each series competitor. If one or more competitors are tied on points for the day equal series points will be awarded to the competitors concerned. Please read carefully The competitors with the lowest points for the round will be 1st = 40, 2nd = 38, 3rd = 36, 4th = 35, 5th = 34 etc. The fastest qualifier and the winners of the final will receive a bonus point. In the event that the fastest qualifier is a new competitor at the 4th or 5th round and has to start from the rear, pole position and the bonus point will go to the next fastest series competitor that has competed at previous rounds 1, 2 or 3. Each competitor will be awarded 50 series points at each round as long as they have been classified as a starter of one of the races at that round. Maximum points for a round = 92. The competitor with the most points at the conclusion of round 5 will be the overall series winner. In the event of a points tie after the final round the competitor with the most round wins is the series winner. If still equal then the competitor with the most race wins over the full series is the series winner. If still equal the competitor with the most 2nd, 3rd placings, etc, is the series winner. Note: all points count with no dropped races or rounds throughout the series. Non attendance = 0 points. Exclusion = 50 series points only. ROUND POINTS Points for Heats, Pre Final, Final at all Rounds 1st = 1, 2nd = 2, 3rd = 3, 4th = 4, etc. PRIZES AND TROPHIES SB Promotions will supply trophies as follows: 1st to 6th for each class for overall series as long as sufficient numbers are reached. There will be no individual round trophies, this is solely the discretion of the Promoter as this will be dependent on class numbers. At the time of submission of these series regs to KartSport NZ major prizes may not have been secured and so the Promoter reserves the right to introduce such prizes during the series, with all series entrants being notified at this time. Sponsor s prizes and giveaways will be drawn at drivers briefing on Saturday. The series prize giving is to be held at a venue confirmed within 1 month after the last round. ROUND CANCELLATION Before Qualifying, no points awarded. After Qualifying but before the Pre Final, only bonus points and series entry points will be awarded. After Pre Final but before the Final, then points will be calculated as normal. Where only 1 or 2 of the 3 classes are affected by the above, this will be applied only to the classes affected. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SB Promotions will recognise additional ProKart Series competitors as follows: Highest placed series KZ2 Masters competitor over 50 years of age ( F40 Veterans Cup ) Highest placed series KZ2 Group 1 competitor under 18 years of age ( Presidents Cup ) Due to the strict licensing requirements now being enforced on our host clubs, consuming alcohol is not permitted unless purchased from the host club s bar facility.

Kartsport New Zealand Permit No: 1820SP(c) 2018 Pro-Kart Series Pro-Kart Top 10 Shootout Supplementary Rules Addendum #1 To Supplementary Rules Unless otherwise specified within these supplementary rules the Shootout will run to the regulations codes, rules, procedures and specifications of KartSport New Zealand and any supplementary rules issued for the Pro-Kart series or the individual rounds. 1. The top ten qualifiers from qualifying will proceed to the Top 10 Shootout consisting of a warm up lap, a qualifying lap and a roll down lap returning to the pits. Depending on the track lay out this may not be a full roll down lap at some tracks. 2. All karts must be on the out grid ready to participate in the Top10 Shootout by the time the first kart is released out the gate. Entry to or from the out grid after this time will not be Permitted. 3. If a kart fails to post a time in the Shootout they will start 10 th ; if more than one fails to post a time the starting grids for these karts will be determined from their qualifying times. These drivers will be classified behind those competitors who did post a Shootout time. The results of the Shootout will determine the top 10 start grids for all heats. 4. Any competitor that has a mechanical issue or leaves the track and cannot return to the pits must pull their kart off the track to a safe position until the Shootout is completed. 5. The start of the qualifying lap will be signaled by a green flag and a chequered flag upon it s completion. 6. Due to any unforeseen circumstances that do not permit the running of the Top 10 Shootout then the first qualifying results will determine the starting positions for the heats. 7. Should conditions change and the stewards deem it unsafe to continue the Shootout will be aborted with first qualifying results determining the starting positions for all heats. 8. In the event that there is a malfunction with the timing system during the Shootout, the first qualifying results will determine your starting position for all heats. 9. The Chief Steward has the right to amend or delete any of these rules if needed. The addition of the Top 10 Shootout has been added to the Pro-Kart Supplementary Rules after the Series Promoter has informed KartSport New Zealand that every registered member of the Pro-Kart Series has been informed of these changes and no competitors have disagreed to these changes.
