Dear Members Inside this issue: Contacts 2 Rallies & Training What to Wear 3 4 Teams 5 Area Teams 6 Dates 7 Dates 8 We have a full programme of activities for all ages and abilities broadly organized into 3 age groups: Minis who are lead rein riders or first ridden 4 8 years, Juniors from 8 13 years and Seniors from 14 years. The activities include rallies, training, horse and pony care, camps, competitions, visit to the Blankney Hunt Kennels, fun rides and social events. members are encouraged to do badges and take tests to promote knowledge of horse and pony care as well as develop their riding. Older members are encouraged to help younger members assisting at rallies and camps and to develop their instruction skills in a supportive environment. We regularly enter teams for inter-branch/centre competitions as well as the Area PC qualifiers in eventing, dressage, showjumping and tri/tetrathlon. our activities are run by volunteers who give up their own time to organise events for our members enjoyment and without their time this would be impossible. We do ask all parents to volunteer at rallies and events that we run over the year so please do let us know how and when you would like to help. In this newsletter you will find the latest information for our branch including dates for rallies and training. Please remember to look for emails for updates to training rallies these cannot be confirmed too far in advance as many of our trainers compete and have other commitments. Our website http://branches.pcuk.org/blankney also contains all information including our dates for all activities. Can I remind you of the following: Membership renewals are due by the end of February please send the completed forms to. Note that renewal forms must be received by the end of February 2016 for eligibility for any Area Team. New Hat and Back Protector Rules: please see the PCUK.org website for new Pony Club Hat and Back protector rules. http://www.pcuk.org/uploads/dcs/hat_rule_2016_fv.pdf http://www.pcuk.org/uploads/dcs/body_protector_rule_2016_fv.pdf I look forward to seeing you all at our events over the coming months. Rallies and Training Rallies are mainly based around flatwork, show jumping, cross country, dressage, games and road safety. They are suitable for all PC members, and mainly focus on the riding element of Pony Club Efficiency Tests. Therefore, members will be grouped by similar age and ability. Please book in for rallies by the dates specified (usually 10 days before) so we can book the correct number of instructors for the members attending, and if you are unable to attend the event after entering please phone the organiser to let them know. Note: if you do not turn up for a rally or cancel after the closing date you will still need to pay the full fee, if your place cannot be filled. To book into a rally - fill in a rally slip, available on the website, and send to. Payment may be by BACs or cheque. No booking will be accepted without the slip and appropriate fee. Tack and Turnout Points will be awarded for turn out at every rally and will count towards the Tack and Turnout trophy awarded at our annual prize giving. You do not need new tack or clothing but you need to be clean and tidy and on a well groomed pony. Training rallies are usually discipline specific, either show jumping, dressage, mounted games or eventing, and may be aimed at certain age groups. Please check carefully who the organiser is and book in with that person by the specified date. Arrive in plenty of time. Be mounted and ready to ride at your allocated time especially at short sessions. If you are going to be late, please contact the organiser. We accept BACS Payments We can accept payment by BACS for rallies and trainings. Cheques, made payable to Blankney Hunt Pony Club, are accepted too. If you wish to pay direct by internet banking our details are as follows:- Sort Code: 40-28-20 Bank Acc: 33847969 If paying by direct transfer, please include the member s name as reference and EMAIL your reply slip to the organiser.
