This event always sells out and is one of my favorites. Friday night the ninth of November is preview night, come on down to the bar and check out the great auction items. If you haven t already, drop off a donation for the event, there is still some time left. Water will be shut off soon, final lift-out is not far away, Browns game Sundays are a bit more exciting, and Friday night open bar is back. Boating may be done for the season, but that doesn t mean we can t have fun. 24 Dale Cover Officer elections at LCYC will be held Thursday, November 1 st November 6 th. In both cases, make your voice heard! and Mid-term Elections are Tuesday Vice Commodore s Comments Al Vlach Well, boating season is over and out boats are being put to sleep. But, with that being said, Friday nights the bar is open and 1:00p Sunday afternoon Browns games have started. Come down and support the Club and bar. As always, you can reach me by email at avlach@oh.rr.com or text me at 440-487-3536 anytime or call after 4:00p Monday-Friday. Rear Commodore s Comments No report. Joe Prucey

Fleet Captain s Comments Hello All ~ Lift-outs are almost done. There is still plenty to be done around the Club for work hours and some really fun functions coming up too. The floaters will be lifted out November 4 th and will be placed up by Pavilion. Please make sure you take out any stabilizers that you may have on your dock. Also while shrink wrapping, please in large print put your last name and phone number on the wrap so we know whose boat is whose. Also, the Halloween Party is October 27 th at 8:00p and will be in the Pavilion. The sides will be wrapped and we will have it as we did last year. It's a great time so please feel free to bring friends! ALL are welcome. See the attached flyer for more details. We will have a DJ again as well. It is a costume party; if you would like to dress up. Bring an app or dessert to share and BRING YOUR OWN "BOOS". Lastly, a big shout out to all who have helped with lift outs! Thank you to all of our lift operators for your time and for ensuring safe lift-outs!! Treasurer s Comments Reminder to all members on a payment plan; all remaining payments or final payments, must be paid by December 1. Thank you in advance. Sunshine Report Jerry Schaffer had a bad fall, spent some time in the ICU and is now on a very long recovery. Good to see him at the Club last week. A gift will be sent. Entertainment Event Chili Cook-Off Becca Scaffide P/C Ray Strumbly Paula Vlach Please join us on November 25 at 1:00p for the Chili Cook-Off. Bring your best pot of chili (and the accompaniments) to enter the contest. Will you have the recipe to win this year? This event is FREE to anyone bringing Chili. See the attached flyer for all of details. Ladies Luncheon/Chinese Auction - Saturday, November 10, 2018 The Ladies Luncheon and Chinese Auction is only three weeks away. Now that the tickets are gone, we can turn our attention to donations. They are coming in slowly, so if you committed to giving something, but haven t brought it to the Club yet, please do so ASAP. All donations are due by Sunday, November 4. Keep in mind that the success of this event is based solely on the generosity of all LCYC members. Someone will be at the Club every Sunday to accept your donations. If you can t make it on a Sunday, leave your donation on the counter in the galley clearly marked that it is for the Auction. Include your name and the value of the donation. We thank you, in advance, for your support! We are looking for a few good men to help serve lunch to the women, help with side boards and help sell pudding and/or Jell-lo shots during the Event, and of course with clean up, too. If you can help, be at the Club by 12:30p on November 10 and park in the lot behind the Clubhouse. The theme is American Pride, so wear your Regatta shirt or something red, white and blue. We are also looking for someone to organize a work party in the morning of November 10 th to use blowers to clear away all of the leaves that accumulate around the pool, fire pit area. In other words, we need volunteers to help make LCYC look beautiful for our guests. Remember, too if you can t make it to the Auction on November 10, come to the preview on Friday, November 9 from 7:00p-10:00p. You can purchase tickets for the baskets, just remember to write your name on the ticket before throwing it into the bag! Winner need not be present at the Auction to win! Shaft Award Nominations Al & Paula Vlach The Shaft Award is an annual LCYC tradition. Each year nominations are accepted for members who may have had some bad luck (self-inflicted or otherwise) during the 2018 boating season. This year nominations will be accepted at the General Membership Meeting on November 1 and voted on at the December General Membership Meeting on December 6. The 2018 Shaft Award Winner will be announced at Change of Watch on Friday, January 4, 2019.
