Kirkman RACE 1: CARLY- MAE PYE TRIBUTE - 1000M MOLTO ALLEGRO (Lucy Warwick) Slow into stride. COLETA (Peter Knuckey) Raced greenly throughout. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that when attempting to improve his position from the 600m his mount had a tendency to lay outwards and as a result became unbalanced. He further advised that the filly had only run on moderately in the straight. KIM EXCEL (Shaun Mc Gruddy) - Raced wide throughout. VITAL FLAME (Alan Kennedy) Crowded shortly after the start. RACE 2: CAITLIN FORREST TRIBUTE - 1000M SEEKER (Jason Whiting) Raced keenly through the middle stages and wide from the 500m. EXCUSE ME MAK (Shaun O'Donnell) Rider reported the gelding had made a respiratory noise shortly after the finish. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Ms. J. Clements advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell. MEGAFACTORY (Brad Parnham) Made contact with the barriers prior to being loaded and after undergoing a Veterinary examination was passed fit to start. STOCKS (Jarrad Noske) Fractious in the barriers. Slow into stride. Brushed the running rail and steadied approaching the 900m. THE CHORISTER (Peter Knuckey) Angled outwards across heels shortly after straightening to obtain clear running. Raced greenly and lay inwards in the straight. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rider advised that the gelding had disappointed but had raced greenly throughout running and had a tendency to lay-in in the straight and may benefit from today s run. Trainer A. Durrant agreed with the riders comments and advised should anything untoward show in the ensuing days he will advise Stewards accordingly. RACE 3: WESTSPEED STAYERS' BONUS HANDICAP - 2200M MY FASCINATION (Paul Harvey) Raced keenly through the middle stages. Raced wide from the 500m. STRIKING STAR (Shaun Mc Gruddy) Slow into stride. Raced wide with cover from the 1200m. MUSKETS AT DAWN (Peter Knuckey) Impeded behind heels between the 600m until angled outwards at the 300m and as a result was unable to improve its position. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned mildly lame in its off hind. Trainer Mr S. Miller
advised that he would have the gelding undergo a further Veterinary examination on return to the stables and advise Stewards of the results and his future intentions. NUNCA TE RINDAS (Mitchell Pateman) When questioned regarding leading today s event rider advised that he never intended to lead however at its last start the gelding had pulled hard in the early and middle stages and as a result he allowed the gelding to jump and take up a forward position, however, after being unchallenged in the early stages was left in the front on its own, and he therefore allowed the gelding to be left in this position as it seemed to be travelling more comfortably. BANANA BOY (Joseph Azzopardi) Commenced to race keenly passing the winning post on the first occasion shortly after being crossed by another runner. CONFIANZA (Jake Casey) Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event. EXCLUSION (Jarrad Noske) Raced wide from the 600m. HARD AS NAILS (Brad Parnham) Lay inwards over the final 200m. SIR READY (Ellie Cockram) Impeded for a short distance on straightening. RACE 4: SUPER SATURDAY NOVEMBER 22 HANDICAP - 1200M VAMPI LASS (Peter Hall) Commenced to over-race passing the 650m and as a result was steadied when improving on heels and shifted inwards and bumped another runner. Held up for clear running from the 400m until approaching the 100m. PRIVATE EYES (Jason Whiting) Raced wide throughout. ALYSSA (Patrick Carbery) Slow into stride. Raced keenly through the middle stages and was steadied approaching the 600m. STAR LIGHTNING (Joseph Azzopardi) Impeded for clear running for a short distance on straightening and again approaching the 150m, and was angled outwards shortly after. Lay inwards in the straight. BARAMBAS BID (Kyra Yuill) Held up for clear running on straightening until near the 125m. JIMMY'S LASS (Peter Knuckey) Raced wide throughout. MISS HEINEKIN (Ellie Cockram) Bounded on jumping. Returned having cast its hind plate. Raced wide on straightening. SHINDIVA (Lucy Warwick) Slow into stride. Bumped approaching the 600m. Rider accidentally dropped her whip passing the 100m. RACE 5: MELBOURNE CUP DAY @ ASCOT NOVEMBER 4 HANDICAP - 1200M GUARDLOCK (Chris Parnham) Held tight for a short distance and steadied approaching the 800m and commenced to race keenly thereafter. HELDER THE PAINTER (Peter Hall) Commenced awkwardly and bumped. RETRO ROCKET (Jarrad Noske) Raced wide from the 600m. THURSTUN LANE (Glenn Smith) Raced wide from the 500m. THE LOVESHACK (NZ) (Shaun O'Donnell) - Bumped on jumping. BERKSHIRE (Joseph Azzopardi) Threw its head on jumping. Impeded for clear running from on straightening until being angled outwards at the 200m. Had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight. ZACAPA (William Pike) Slow into stride. Impeded for a short distance on straightening. TOSS'N'SPIN (Misty Bazeley) Raced ungenerously through the early and middle stages and wide throughout. RACE 6: LADIES DAY @ ASCOT NOVEMBER 15 HANDICAP - 1000M SHEZA SCANDAL (Jerry Noske) Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards in the straight with the rider changing the whip through to her left hand at the 150m. SHOOEY (Patrick Carbery) Impeded for clear running between the 400m and the 300m. MEDOM (Joseph Azzopardi) Slow into stride. Rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m.
CROWN OF ARC (Troy Turner) Raced wide throughout. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of being in season. CASTLE KEEP (Jason Whiting) Following the unplaced performance Trainer Mr S. Miller advised the Mare would now be sent for a spell. OUR MEMORY GIRL (Lucy Warwick) Bumped on jumping. Eased passing the 900m. Raced wide throughout. BLACK GRAPE (Chris Parnham) Slow into stride. Impeded for clear running for a short distance on straightening. NO MORE SECRETS (Danny Miller) Bumped on jumping. Steadied when improving on the heels passing the 900m. General: Jockey Misty Bazeley (IN THE MOOD) was shown a section of the patrol film near the 900m where she allowed her mount to shift inwards resulting in OUR MEMORY GIRL (Lucy Warwick) being eased and NO MORE SECRETS (Danny Miller) which was following, having to be steadied. Jockey Bazeley was cautioned and advised that she ensures she is fully clear when shifting inwards to obtain a position in future. RACE 7: FESTIVAL OF PERTH RACING HANDICAP - 1400M ANGEL ROSE (Andrew Castle) Carried inwards, bumped and steadied near the 1300m. Bumped, crowded and restrained near the 150m. LET'S LIGHTEN UP (Ryan Hill) A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with a laceration to its off hock and an abrasion to the outside of its off hind. PLANET CLAIRE (Shaun Mc Gruddy) Raced keenly through the early and middle stages. Crowded, bumped and restrained near the 150m. WESTERN BLAZE (Peter Hall) Threw its head on jumping. Bumped near the 1300m and raced fiercely through the early and middle stages and failed to settle despite the efforts of its rider. Restrained getting its head in the air when improving on to heels passing the 800m and was again restrained passing the 700m. Lay outwards in the straight despite the efforts of its rider to keep his mount on a straight course. Trainer Mr A. Durrant was advised that due to the gelding s racing manner it would have to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. BROCKY'S DEAL (Craig Staples) Bumped inwards, tightened and restrained near the 1300m. Steadied when improving on heels and shifted outwards upbruptly passing the 800m when the saddle shifted forward, and raced wide thereafter placing its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. SKY MAGIC (Alan Kennedy) Raced wide throughout. TONTO (Jason Whiting) Slow into stride. Carried outwards passing the 800m. Bumped outwards passing the 700m and raced wide thereafter. VENETIAN PRINCE (Joseph Azzopardi) Held tight for a short distance and bumped passing the 700m. WESTERN GEM (Lucy Warwick) Slow into stride. Steadied outwards and bumped passing the 700m. Held up for clear running from on straightening and when improving into marginal room approaching the 200m was disappointed and shortly after was angled inwards to obtain clear running. Impeded for a short distance passing the 100m. STOCK TRADER (Shaun O'Donnell) Impeded for clear running from on straightening until passing the 200m. General: Jockey Alan Kennedy (SKY MAGIC) was suspended under AR137(a) for careless riding and suspended for 12 days to commence midnight 26 October 2014 and to expire midnight 7 November 2014, in that shortly after the start he allowed his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of ANGEL ROSE (A. Castle) who was dictated inwards which resulted in BROCKY S DEAL (C. Staples) being bumped, tightened and restrained at the 1300m.
Stewards further inquired into an incident at the 150m which resulted in PLANET CLAIRE (S. Mc Gruddy) being crowded, bumped and restrained at the 150m and ANGEL ROSE (A. Castle) being crowded and having to restrain. It was established after considering the evidence of the riders and the various video angles of the incident that WESTERN BLAZE (P. Hall) had shifted outwards despite the efforts of its rider to keep the gelding on a straight course which had resulted in the interference. Stewards deemed that no rider had ridden carelessly and therefore ordered that WESTERN BLAZE have to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again. RACE 8: TABTOUCH.COM.AU HANDICAP - 1600M WANDERER (Lucy Warwick) Held up on straightening until taken inwards to obtain a clear run, disappointed and steadied inwards across heels at the 175m. MCDALLY (Jarrad Noske) Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority of the event. TRADITIONAL TIME (Glenn Smith) Momentarily crowded and steadied at the 175m. APACHE ROCKET (Andrew Castle) Dwelt on jumping. HUE AND CRY (Jason Whiting) Raced wide from the 800m. STREET BANDIT (Steven Parnham) Lay outwards in the straight. SUNSET SUPERMAN (William Pike) - Raced wide throughout. Crowded and steadied when compounding at the 400m. Carried outwards and steadied near the 150m. DREAMALONG (Peter Knuckey) Held up for clear running on straightening until passing the 200m. Switched outwards to obtain a clear run at the 175m. CASABLANCA LILY (Joseph Azzopardi) Slow into stride. Steadied when racing keenly near the 1400m. DISCOVILLE (Brad Parnham) Lay inwards near the 175m, with the rider having to stop riding and straighten his mount. FRIARPAK (Ben Paterson) Lay outwards abruptly near the 150m. VITAL MISS (Willie White) Slow into stride. GENERAL Routine specimens were taken from all winners. Race 6. Jockey Glenn Smith (CROWN OF ARC) fined $150 under AR120(b) for accepting the ride when being unable to make the weight. Race 6. Trainer Simon Miller (CASTLE KEEP) fined $100 under AR117(3)
