Guide Your September 2015 Halls Student Experience Team publication Saturday 19th Saturday is the first of two massive moving in days at Greenbank Student Village and it s the perfect time to get out and about meet new friends and take advantage of the events put on for your arrival. 9am till 5pm- The BIG Arrival Weekender Greenbank Student Village is alive with the excitement and the buzz of new arrivals today. Halls Welcome and Residential Advisor teams are on hand to ensure your check in goes smoothly and assist you with any last minute questions. 12pm till 7pm Unwind in the Attic All moved in and not sure what to do? The Attic will be a hive of activity throughout the move in weekend with live rugby world cup coverage, Xbox, board games, pool and table tennis. The perfect place to catch up with all of today s new arrivals. Welcome Week Greenbank September 19th - 27th Want to be the first to know what is happening in your halls and on campus? This is where you meet your hall Warden who will welcome you all to Greenbank Student Village. The talk will be followed by introductory sessions with your Residential Advisors and the rest of your block with free refreshments. Must Do 9pm till 11pm - Welcome Party with DJ in the Attic 10am till 4pm Head upstairs to the Attic for a chance to meet up with everyone who has moved in today. The Attic is your common room, it s a space with TV s, sofa s, Xbox, pool and you are allowed to bring your own drinks along to it too. Over the arrivals weekend we will have a small bottle bar available to purchase alcohol or soft drinks as well as being able to bring your own. Laptop Clinics at Carnatic Halls Senior Common Room (1st floor of Carnatic House). Don t forget that Greenbank Residents can also visit and attend events at Carnatic Student Village (15 mins walk away). Held by our Computer Services Dept it s your chance to fix any problems you may have connecting to the network at your hall. Bring your laptop along and let our CSD team assist you. The team are there the same time on Sunday too!

Sunday 20th This is the final day of moving in with street performers and Halls and Residential Advisor teams on hand; everything is bound to go smoothly. 12noon till 7pm - Unwind in the Attic Must Do Will drinks and live coverage of the rugby world cup it s the perfect place to escape those moving in stresses. 7:15pm - Wardens Welcome Talk in the dining room This is a compulsory for all students arriving today (block L-T students). This is where you meet your hall Warden who will welcome you all to Greenbank Student Village. The talk will be followed by introductory sessions with your Residential Advisors and the rest of your block with free refreshments. 9pm till 11pm - Welcome Party with DJ in the Attic Head up to the bar for a few drinks and a chance to meet up with everybody who has moved in today before heading off to the Guild to see Jaguar Skills. Monday 21st 1pm - Local Food Shopping Tour Departing from Carnatic Reception this FREE tour will take you to all the local shopping spots, this tour will also give you an insight into the local area. 2pm till 4pm Crafternoons- VG&M (the red brick building) Our Experienced artist will lead the session in using vintage books and maps to create bespoke necklaces and brooches. Unique accessories for yourself, or friends. This is a FREE session held in the Cafe on the ground floor and places are on a 1st come 1st served basis. Monday 21st 12pm till 2pm Arrivals EXPO in the Dining Room. Want to know all there is about living in our halls? This is your chance to get the inside knowledge on what s hot about living here at the University. Visit our stalls to get advice and help from Student Support Services, register with Student Health, get that essential job advice from the Careers and Employability Service, not to mention all you need to know about your hall s sports teams from Sport Liverpool. There are plenty of opportunities to bag a freebie or two and a chance to enter our FREE PRIZE DRAW. This is your perfect opportunity to find out about joining your Hall Student Committee and Student Guide Team and make a big difference to your own hall. Tuesday 22nd 8pm Fire Safety and Security Talks for blocks A-K in the dining room. Wednesday 23rd 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm- Campus Tours 4pm -Shiverpool Ghost Tour These tours commence at the Guild of Students (Reilly Building). They are FREE and the perfect way to get to know your University better. Sign up at the Guild Reception. 2pm - Liverpool s Old Dock Tour and Liverpool ONE. Departing from Vine Court Reception on Campus this FREE tour is your chance to discover the wonders of Liverpool s original old dock and the city s great maritime history. After visiting the Old Dock our guide will take you to the heart of the 42 acre Liverpool ONE shopping area where you will have free time to shop. Faculty Mixers continue in the Attic. We have pool, table tennis, board games and giant jenga. It s your chance to show your the best at Greenbank and catch up with your Residential Advisor team. Bookable at the Guild Reception this is your chance to discover Liverpool s haunted past. This tour is part of your Give it a go programme and has been greatly reduced to the bargain price of just 2 per person. 8pm- Wind down Wednesday Why not don your onesie and come catch a film with your fellow roomies in the Attic or enjoy a quiet drink and challenge your house mates to a game of pool or giant jenga. Thursday 24th 8:30pm - Greenbank Quiz Night in the Attic Feeling competitive? Fancy yourself a bit of quiz buff? Or maybe you re just up for a fun night out! Tonight sees the launch of the weekly Greenbank Quiz in the Attic. Bring some drinks and compete for some great prizes.

Friday 25th Saturday 26th 3pm- Love Liverpool Walking tour Run by and bookable at The Guild this FREE tour gives you a quick introduction to all that we love about this fantastic city. 12pm Walking Tour of Liverpool Always a popular tour with Arthur our resident expert on all that is Liverpool. Expect to be gone at least half a day. There is plenty of time to see the top city sights, get in depth information on the city and meet new friends. OR 9pm- Welcome Ball Warm UP at the Carnatic Bar Warm up for the Guild s Welcome Ball with a drink or two at the Carnatic Bar.
