Passing the 900 metres, Miasheeny Ruby got its head up when being steadied from the heels of Classic Flavour (D Oliver), which had shifted in. As a consequence The Tyrant, which was following, was checked. In considering the matter, account was taken of the racing manners of Miasheeny Ruby, however; D Oliver was reprimanded and advised that he must ensure he gives sufficient clearance when shifting ground. For a short distance approaching the 800 metres, Niarchos badly over raced and when being restrained, shifted in away from Catawampus, resulting in Orianthi and Dramastic being checked. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Passing the 500 metres, Orianthi was momentarily awkward on the heels of Catawampus. Rounding the home turn, when being shifted to the outside of Niarchos, Kempside brushed Crown Gem, resulting in that horse shifting out and causing some inconvenience to Glamour Planet (NZ). Race 4 SEN 1116 F&M MAIDEN PLATE - 1400 metres: Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the circumstances regarding trainer J Gaffney failing to scratch Chimes At Midnight by the prescribed time, which resulted in the elimination of Mrs Bean (third emergency). Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of Danestroem at 3.45pm, when it was reported by trainer I Hutchins that the filly had an elevated temperature. Mr Hutchins was advised that a veterinary certificate to that effect must be submitted.

The start of the race was delayed considerably due to a technical issue with the track lighting, which was subsequently established to have been caused by a blown fuse. The start of the race was rescheduled to commence at 9.00pm. On leaving the gates, Moreau, which had been slow to begin, was hampered when Pureminx shifted out. In the early and middle stages, Moreau over raced. When being steadied from the heels of Mucho Caliente passing the 900 metres, Misscatelli shifted in and bumped Barely A Secret. Near 200 metres, Barely A Secret, which was commencing to give ground, was momentarily steadied when Pureminx lay in. When under pressure in the home straight, both Black Booker and Mucho Caliente had a tendency to lay in. C Robertson, rider of Cerastium, which performed poorly, explained that the filly did not appreciate tonight s firm track and may be at the end of its preparation. A subsequent veterinary examination of Cerastium did not reveal any obvious abnormality. Race 5 DE BORTOLI WINES 0-62 HANDICAP - 1200 metres: The explanation tendered by K Newby, trainer of More Black Magic, for the late declaration of J McNeil as the rider of the mare, was accepted. J Lyon (Titus Vinius) reported that his mount was inclined to lay in when under pressure in the straight, placing him at a slight disadvantage in riding the gelding out. A Mallyon, rider of Richoman, reported that his mount was pressured for the lead passing the 1000 metres and this had affected its chances when placed under pressure in the straight, where the gelding gave ground. M Zahra, rider of Taxi Joe, which was having its first run from a spell in almost twelve months, reported that the gelding will be better suited with more racing. R Booth (Dimi The Dancer) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR137(a), in that passing the 100 metres, he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of Adams Bell, resulting in that horse losing its rightful running and having to be checked. R Booth s licence to ride in races was suspended for a total of 12 meetings, commencing midnight 20 October, 2012and expiring
