General: On Inquiry Apprentice Shaun O Donnell Jnr (SHE S GAGA) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under ARR.137(a) for allowing his mount to shift outwards when insufficiently clear resulting in MULTIMAGIC (M. Bazeley) being dictated outwards onto HERE COMES POPPY (S. Meeres) which was carried outwards, tightened and restrained from heels passing the 100m. Apprentice O Donnell Jnr subsequently had his permit to ride in races suspended for a period of 12 days to commence from midnight 24 May 2015 and to expire at midnight 5 June 2015. When assessing penalty Stewards took into account that this was Apprentice O Donnell Jnr s first suspension for careless riding and he had approximately 130 rides since commencing race riding in August 2014. Stewards inquired into the reason for TUMBLEWEED TANGO (C. Johnston-Porter) dipping from heels having to be steadied at the 1100m. Jockey S. Meeres was found guilty to a charge under ARR.137(d) for excessively slowing his mount between the 1150m and the 1100m causing TUMBLEWEED TANGO to improve onto the heels of his mount and as a result dipping having to be steadied. Subsequently Jockey S. Meeres was fined the sum of $200. When assessing penalty Stewards took into account that Jockey Meeres had not breeched under this rule in the past two years. STARTING OVER (Shelby Bowtell) - Commenced awkwardly losing one length. General: Stewards inquired into the reasons for SAXON COAST (S. Meeres) and ZABA ZABA DOO (E. Stent) steadying at the 25m. It was ascertained that ARSENAL POWER (K. Fitzgerald) which was racing to the inside of ZABA ZABA DOO commenced to shift outwards marginally from the 100m and simultaneously ZEE DRIBBLER (B. Kennedy) which was positioned outside SAXON COAST shifted inwards marginally causing SAXON COAST to be held tight having to be steadied at the 25m and ZABA ZABA DOO to race in restricted room having to be steadied also at this point. After hearing riders evidence and viewing the patrol films, Stewards were of the opinion that due to ARSENAL POWER and ZABA ZABA DOO shifting marginally that no rider had ridden carelessly and took the matter no further. RACE 4: ABIM SOLUTIONS HANDICAP - 1100M BOMBER BEL (Mark Forder) - Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Tightened and restrained and lost ground near the 850m. Bowtell) having to be restrained outwards from heels at the 150m. Jockey M. Bazeley was subsequently suspended from riding in races for a period of 13 days to commence from midnight 28 May 2015 and to expire at midnight 10 June 2015. When assessing penalty, Stewards took into account Jockey Bazeley s relatively good riding record. On Inquiry Apprentice Shaun O Donnell Jnr (LET S GO LAKERS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under ARR.137(a) for allowing his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in BOMBER BELL (M. Forder) being tightened for room and restrained near the 850m. Apprentice O Donnell Jnr subsequently had his permit to ride in races suspended for a period of 14 days and as a result of Apprentice O Donnell Jnr being suspended in Race 2, Stewards ordered that 8 days of this suspension be served concurrently with his previous suspension and 6 days cumulatively, therefore Apprentice O Donnell Jnr now has his permit to ride in races suspended from midnight 24 May 2015 and to expire at midnight 11 June 2015, being a period of 18 days.
