The team was established in 2013 through the arduous efforts of 8 young enthusiasts under the guidance of Dr.M. Leenus Jesu Martin (HOD Automobile), who wanted to understand more in practical terms of how an automobile functions in the real world. In the process of achieving the target of making a small vehicle, they also wanted a proactive work environment to be generated for encouraging young enthusiasts and providing them with an ideal platform to boost their skills. Hence the team was formed and named Team Full Throttle. Our team wanted to focus on something simple and effective and would have common populace as a wider audience group in the scenario of motorsports. Hence the Go-Kart championships were chosen to be the core sector. The team s ambitions were to pull in capable people who will be able to multi-task and work under pressure. The core team members possessed high levels of technical skills who were able to guide the juniors on the right path. We were early to start off for the event as we registered for NGKC (National Go-kart Championship) conducted by ISNEE (Indian Society of New Era Engineers). Our niche workforce was able to generate the design report, the manufacturing plan and the tool requirements and purchase in less than 4 months of time. This showed the effective planning and execution by the entire team. The team leapt forward to reach the top 5 in the pre-final round. But due to certain unforeseen reasons, the team had to back out from the event. There was a long idle period due to the disproportionate number of senior members to that of the junior members and hence the team size reduced drastically to a measly 2. But the two were able minded and determined to recover the team from the position it has thus landed in. The efforts of Mr Bhoopati D as the faculty advisor, Raghavendira B M as the Captain and Sreeharsha A as the Team Manager brought about a huge change in the structure of the team. New recruits had been taken in and the team was given a jump start. The team then geared up for the event conducted by SAE Collegiate Club of Lovely Professional University under the title of IGC (International Go-Kart Championship). This is the second largest event for Go-Karts next to NGKC (Currently renamed GKDC - Go-kart Design Championship). The team size was boosted to 11 people which had a good mix between members of different academic batches. There was diversity in the team as far as inter disciplinary interaction is concerned. The members consisted of various streams ranging from Mechanical Engineering stream to the Computer Science stream to assist various aspects of the technical and corporate works. The team was then pushed forward and the virtual rounds were qualified. The real journey started after the closure of the virtual events where there was a great deal of responsibility installed in every member of the team. As the team size is small the work was properly divided and the planning was done to implement the production plan accordingly. One of the significant achievement is the 24 hour discussion and planning session held after the floods to ensure that the lost time is compensated. Members toiled day and night even sleeping in the Fabrication Yard to ensure lesser travel times and more efficient work. The Team broke the barriers of human body and
sustenance to push forward to complete the vehicle and perform an extensive testing module. The faults were constantly identified, monitored and necessary actions for rectification had been taken. The Team had now produced its first vehicle called the Monster. The data collected was then used to finalize the vehicle to qualifying standards and thus the vehicle was dispatched. The floods were no barriers. The Monster roared on the tracks of Lovely Professional University and cleared all the Dynamic Rounds. While preparing for the competitions, the team members were determined to build a kart that would bring back laurels for the University. Our First Vehicle was announced as winners of the Autocross Round at the event and also secured the 8th rank out of over 150 teams that in the event. This was the beginning of a new journey. In the year 2016, the baton was passed to Sanjith W. Dass, appointed as the new captain and Aashish Antil as the vice-captain. To achieve the targets in a shorter span of time, the team added new members to the family. The team strength was raised to 25 members to build Monster 2.0 aiming towards victory in Go-Kart Design Championship (GKDC) organised by ISNEE in January, 2017. The virtual and Pre- Final rounds were propitiously cleared and the vehicle was dispatched for Kari Motor-speedway, Coimbatore to attend GKDC. Yet again the Team emerged as winners of Autocross, CAE and runners-up in Skid pad, photography round. The team recently participated in IGC (International Go-Kart Championship) organised by the Lovely Professional University in the month of March, 2017. Unlike the rest, this event was ill-fated in the team history but Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment, full effort is full victory said Mahatma Gandhi. With this thought in mind, the team is now cranked up, aiming towards victory, in the next event Go-Kart Design Championship (GKDC) organised by ISNEE in January 2018. After all these years of ups and downs we began the journey again and the baton was passed to Pratham Kumar as the team captain and Rashmi Ranjan as the vice captain. The team registered for GKDC 2018 organized by ISNEE. The pre-final round took place in the month of August 2017 in New Delhi. The team went there and not only successfully cleared the pre final round but was also ranked 7 th overall. Due to some unforeseen reasons the team had to back out from the event and could not participate in the final round. Yet another year and another season for. Our ambitions do not have an end and thus we gear up for this seasons feat. The season 2018-19 would be led by Bhavishye Goswami as the team captain and Sanath Singhal as the vice-captain. We aim to achieve higher this year and make the most out of the opportunities given to us by the college and the department of Automobile Engineering. Under the guidance of our esteemed Faculty Advisor Mr. D. Boopathi we believe that this season we have the ability, experience and the hunger to prove to everyone the potential of this team.
