With a new offensive-minded, creative head coach in Frank Reich, Luck certainly has QB1 value for as long as he s healthy. SAM DARNOLD, JETS Despite getting a late start on training camp because of a contract hold-up, Darnold looked sharp in his pro debut, completing 9 of his first 11 passes for 74 yards and touchdown. Since then, he s reportedly been hogging first-team reps in practice. Even if he s not named the Week 1 starter, he ll be under center before long. FALLING LAMAR JACKSON, RAVENS Jackson simply hasn t looked pro-ready in his two preseason appearances. His athletic ability has certainly flashed, but that was never in doubt. His passing (11-for-28 for 151 yards) has been scattershot. Jackson hasn t looked comfortable processing reads from the pocket and seems unlikely to push Joe Flacco for the starting job anytime soon. He s off the draft board in redraft leagues for now. JOSH McCOWN, JETS As mentioned in the Rising section, Sam Darnold impressed in his preseason debut and is seeing more first-team reps in practice. Mc- Cown s days as the Jets No. 1 QB are numbered. He s not worthy of a roster spot in most fantasy formats. TOP 100 OVERALL IN TWO-QUARTERBACK LEAGUES 1. Alvin Kamara, RB, NOR 2. Prosise SEA 7 189 1 32 262 1 75 Javorius Allen BAL 10 340 3 11 84 1 RISING ROYCE FREEMAN, BRONCOS Freeman, a third-round pick out of Oregon, outplayed Devontae Booker in Denver s first preseason game, running for 38 yards and touchdown on four carries. He s the powerful RB the Broncos need to get their running game back to playoff form and seems likely to unseat Booker as the No. 1 back by the end of the preseason. REX BURKHEAD, PATRIOTS With first-round pick Sony Michel undergoing knee surgery that will cost him the rest of training camp, Burkhead will preserve his spot atop the Patriots RB depth chart. He s an effective runner and may be New England s goal-line back. He s also a solid receiver who could see extra targets during Julian Edelman s four-game suspension. KERRYON JOHNSON, LIONS Johnson had an impressive pro debut, playing 40 snaps and contributing 67 total yards on seven carries and four catches. His highlight was an impressive 57-yard run that was called back for holding. He certainly looked the part of a productive three-down back on a team that has been desperate for just that over the past two decades. SAMAJE PERINE, REDSKINS In wake of Derrius Guice s torn ACL, Perine likely ascends to the No. 1 early-down role for the Redskins. After a rough start to his rookie season, Perine amassed 580 yards from scrimmage in the second half of 2017. He s now worth a late-round pick in most fantasy formats. FALLING MARLON MACK, COLTS Mack entered training camp with the inside track to be Indianapolis No. 1 RB, but a hamstring strain suffered in the preseason opener leaves his Week 1 status in doubt. New head coach Frank Reich mixed and matched RBs with Philly last season, and Mack s injury opens the door for rookies Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines to carve out larger roles even when Mack is fully healthy. DEVONTAE BOOKER, BRONCOS After cutting C.J. Anderson in April, Denver drafted Royce Freeman to challenge Booker for the starting gig. Booker failed to reach 50 rushing yards in any game last season and looks better suited for a backup, change-of-pace role. Freeman was surely the superior runner in the Broncos first preseason game. LeGARRETTE BLOUNT, LIONS As rookie Kerryon Johnson shined in Detroit s preseason opener, Blount s limited role as an early-down, short-yardage back was cemented. His week-to-week value will be too volatile and TD-dependent to make Blount worth a roster spot in most fantasy leagues. DERRIUS GUICE, REDSKINS Guice tore his ACL in Washington s first preseason game, ending his rookie season before it really started. Dynasty-league owners should keep him in mind, but redraft owners can ceremonious cross him of their draft boards. DraftEngine.com Fantasy Football Hot Sheet / 7

Cincinnati released Brandon LaFell in early August a vote of confidence for Ross to be the starter opposite A.J. Green. Ross is one of the league s fastest players and the Bengals will get creative with him. COREY COLEMAN, BILLS Coleman is a former first-round pick whose two seasons in Cleveland were plagued by injury, ineffective coaching and brutal quarterbacking. Though Buffalo figures to have one of the NFL s weakest passing games this season, Coleman s talent could earn him a huge role in a thin receiving corps. RYAN GRANT, COLTS Grant garnered praise from Indy head coach Frank Reich and is poised to be the Colts No. 2 WR opposite T.Y. Hilton. The loss of rookie Deon Cain to a torn ACL further strengthens Grant s hold on a starting job. For as long as Andrew Luck stays healthy, there will be targets for the taking while Hilton draws defenses attention. ANTONIO CALLAWAY, BROWNS With Corey Coleman shipped off to Buffalo and Josh Gordon missing in action, Callaway has a chance to carve out a big role in Cleveland s offense. He could ve been a first-round draft pick if not for off-thefield issues (which make him a huge fantasy risk), and looked electric in the Browns preseason opener. He s a high-risk, high-ceiling lateround flier. FALLING DOUG BALDWIN, SEAHAWKS Loyal Draft Engine readers know that Baldwin is deified in our office. So it pains us to admit our concern with him this season. A sore knee has his Week 1 status in question, and it s unclear if he ll be playing at 100% once he does return. DeSEAN JACKSON, BUCCANEERS Second-year wideout Chris Godwin figures to have a bigger role in Tampa Bay s offense this season, potentially replacing Jackson in two-wr sets. Jackson is not the explosive playmaker he once was and won t have any fantasy value as a part-timer in Tampa. MARTAVIS BRYANT, RAIDERS In early August, Oakland head coach Jon Gruden said of Bryant, He s got to get out here and play better. He s in a competitive situation. Right now, a lot of the other receivers have had a nice camp. The Steelers got tired of Bryant s inconsistent effort and attitude, and the Raiders are having the same issues. He may not earn enough playing time to make a fantasy impact despite his sky-high potential. ZAY JONES, BILLS Jones 2017 rookie season will go down as one of the worst seasons a wideout has ever had. He caught a mere 36% of his targets (lowest in the NFL among players with 50+ targets), prompting Buffalo to acquire former first-round pick Corey Coleman. Jones is ticketed for a minor role on a run-heavy team. 8 / DraftEngine.com Fantasy Football Hot Sheet

Njoku showed great athleticism in his two-touchdown preseason opener. DALLAS GOEDERT, EAGLES NBC Sports Philadelphia projects the 6 5 Goedert to have a significant role in the Eagles red-zone offense as a rookie. With Zach Ertz sidelined, Goedert hauled in four passes for 66 yards and touchdown in his pro debut. He s a high-ceiling, late-round pick who becomes a fantasy starter if Ertz misses time in 2018. FALLING GEORGE KITTLE, 49ERS Kittle is a popular sleeper pick in fantasy circles, but a separated shoulder is likely to keep him sidelined for the rest of the preseason. Missing reps in his first offseason working with Jimmy Garoppolo will hinder their chemistry and possibly diminish Kittle s role in the earlyseason passing game, especially with a competent No. 2 TE in Garrett Celek on the San Francisco roster. CAMERON BRATE, BUCCANEERS When Jameis Winston was injured last season, Brate posted a mere three catches for 28 yards in three games. With Winston suspended for three games to start 2018, Brate holds no fantasy value to start the season. He s not worth drafting, though he s a sneaky waiver-wire add going into Week 4 (we ll remind you in our in-season Hot Sheet).
