Dylan Dunn was permitted to claim only 1.5kg. Four Carat (GER) After commencing awkwardly and making contact with Gingerboy was then restrained from its wide gate to obtain a position on the fence toward the rear of the field. Disappointed for clear running to the outside of Black Stardom rounding the home turn. Black Stardom (NZ) Raced wide in the early stages and as it was also over racing was allowed to stride and obtain a position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres. Raw Impulse (GB) Near the 1600 metres had to be eased when crowded for room between Golden Mane and Black Stardom (NZ), which was racing tightly to its outside. Golden Mane Momentarily impeded near the 250 metres by Raw Impulse (GB), which shifted in under pressure. App Regan Bayliss was fined $400 for using the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres.

Doctor Care (NZ) App Ben Thompson stated that, in his opinion, the gelding may appreciate tracks with more give. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery. Race 2 PHIL SLY MEMORIAL PLATE - 1100 metres: Pedrena Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after straightening, disappointed for clear running to the inside of Bringaroo, which had been taken inwards by Blue Tycoon, which shifted in quickly before being straightened by its rider. After passing the 200 metres proved difficult for its rider to shift out away from the heels of Bringaroo, which had also shifted out slightly, in an effort to obtain clear running as it had a tendency to lay in. Rock Giselle Commenced awkwardly. Blue Tycoon Knuckled on jumping away, shifted in and bumped Bringaroo. Preemptive Raced keenly, getting its head in the air when being restrained in the middle stages. Bringaroo In the early stages, near the 800 metres, got its head up when being restrained to gain cover, then shortly after had to be checked to avoid the heels of Blue Tycoon (Michael Walker), which shifted in. Bringaroo was then steadied outwards, racing wide for the remainder of the event. Further, the colt over raced when racing wide. Michael Walker was severely reprimanded. Flying Comet Hampered outwards passing the 800 metres by Bringaroo, which had shifted out at that stage. Gimlet Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight. New Indian Rupee Rider Michael Dee reported that the colt raced greenly and would be better suited over more ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Race 3 ARVANITIS PHILANTHROPHY PLATE - 1200 metres: Sea Spray Slow to begin. Unable to obtain clear running over the final 250 metres, going to the line not fully tested. Japhils Knuckled on jumping away and then made contact with Face Forward. Elle Excite After commencing awkwardly was then bumped heavily by Shades Of Bella, which jumped in. A Lotta Love Held up for clear running from straightening until over the concluding stages, effectively going to the line not being fully tested.

Khutulun Held up for clear running from straightening until obtaining a tight run between Elle Excite and Takeover (NZ) approaching the 100 metres. Takeover (NZ) Shortly after straightening had to be taken outwards to obtain clear running and approaching the 100 metres was bumped on the hindquarters by Khutulun. Trainer Don Dwyer was questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance and stated that the mare had been suited by the drop back in trip and further they had difficulty finding the right races as, due to being such a small mare, had difficulty carrying higher weights. He stated that after working well and with a lighter weight they expected an improved performance. Nadeem Lass Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. App Jake Bayliss reported the mare hung out and in his opinion would be better suited on tracks with more give. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Danestroem Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages before weakening. App Beau Mertens reported although the mare was first up it felt flat. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with trainer Michael Kent. Race 4 COMDAIN HANDICAP - 1400 metres: Lyuba Got its head up when racing keenly in the early and middle stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality and a swab sample was taken for analysis. Trainer Darren Weir advised that Lyuba would now be spelled. Jocasta Crowded between Air Apparent and Miles Of Krishan, and shifted out when close to the heels of Air Apparent passing the 1000m. When the pace slackened in the middle stages commenced to over race and had to be steadied out off heels passing the 800 metres. Andrioli Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Elegant Queen Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. Air Apparent Shortly after straightening (350 metres) had to be checked and was then unable to improve when in an awkward position behind Lyuba and to the inside of Claudia Jean, both of which had commenced to weaken. From the 300 metres continued to be held up for clear running until the 150 metres. Miles Of Krishan Had to be checked severely passing the 1000 metres when placed in restricted room to the inside of Andrioli and to the outside of Jocasta, which was shifting out to avoid clipping the heels of Air Apparent. In assessing the interference Stewards were satisfied that there was no rider error involved. Held up passing the 300 metres until near the 200 metres. Gingie In the early stages of the straight momentarily held up before shifting to the inside of Jocasta to obtain clear running.

Claudia Jean App Regan Bayliss reported his mount would be better suited to tracks with more give. Valentines Reward Momentarily impeded for clear running shortly after straightening. Race 5 PETER JACKSON HANDICAP - 1400 metres: Leonforte Trainer Tony McEvoy made a request shortly after race 1 to withdraw the gelding from the race as, in his opinion, the track was firmer than the Good 3 rating. As the stewards felt that the Good 3 rating was appropriate at that stage his request was denied. Rider Luke Currie reported that in his view, the gelding was reluctant to stretch out in the straight due to the firmness of the track. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering the thumps and had sustained a slight abrasion on the right hind bumper. Star Fortune Trainer Clinton McDonald fined $100 for the late notification of rider (Craig Newitt). Got its head up when racing keenly in the early and middle stages. Rounding the home turn had to be checked to avoid the heels of the tiring Shintaro and in doing so shifted out and bumped Thinking Of You (NZ). So Does He Stood flat footed at the start and lost ground (3L). Shifted out near the 350 metres making contact with Volcanic Ash then shifted back in having to be steadied when then awkwardly placed on the heels of Samartested, which, when weakening, shifted out slightly. Trainer Shawn Mathrick was advised that prior to racing again it must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Volcanic Ash Commenced awkwardly and settled further back. Held up in the early stages of the straight when awkwardly placed on the heels of Any Dream Will Do and again approaching the 100 metres when obtaining a narrow run between Any Dream Will Do and Bascule. Samartested Raced wide in the early and middle stages until being urged along passing the 800 metres to obtain a position outside the leader. Shintaro Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. App Beau Mertens could offer no explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Thinking Of You Bumped out off its course rounding the home turn. Race 6 THE JERICHO CUP IN 2018 HANDICAP - 2000 metres: Meru Slow to begin. Star Zone Got its head up in the early stages when attempting to obtain a position with cover. Steadied off the heels of Bo Bardi when disappointed for clear running near the 350 metres.

Bo Bardi Obliged to race wide for the majority of the event. Lay inwards in the early stages of the straight. Defence Witness In the middle stages when the pace slackened, raced keenly. Duke Of Boneo (NZ) Crowded for room near the 500 metres and had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the straight. App Jordon Childs stated that although his mount was held up it failed to run on as expected. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Last Typhoon After commencing awkwardly bumped by Prince Of Babylon, which shifted in. Near the 350 metres shifted in and away from Bo Bardi, which had also shifted in quickly and was then inclined to lay in under pressure and further had some difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 200 metres. Red Alto Bumped on several occasions by Tavi Bay (NZ), which shifted in under pressure near 100 metres. Over the concluding stages had to be eased when crowded by Tavi Bay (NZ) (Chris Parnham), which shifted in. C Parnham was advised to take more care when in similar circumstances. Unbreakable When questioned regarding the riding tactics adopted today apprentice Michael Dee explained that he was instructed to try and gain a position one out one back, which he was able to achieve, however, when the tempo of the race continued to slow he elected to shift out to a three wide position with 700 metres to travel and was reluctant to restrain his mount too much to ensure the gelding kept in a smooth rhythm. He added the reason was a combination of the slow tempo and that his mount was over racing, however, in hindsight, he should have endeavoured to make a greater effort to remain with cover, bearing in mind the strong headwinds. Whilst app Michael Dee acknowledged his error Stewards reiterated that in similar circumstances he should show more initiative than he did on this occasion. App Michael Dee (Unbreakable) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 500 metres leaving insufficient racing room for Shes Got Speed resulting in Shes Got Speed becoming unbalanced and having to be checked. Michael Dee had his permit to ride in races suspended for a period to commence after the day meeting at Geelong 27 May, 2016 and to expire midnight 2 June, 2016, a total of seven race meetings (2 metro, 5 prov). In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the interference in the mid-range and ordered this suspension be served cumulatively with the suspension incurred at Cranbourne on Friday 13 May, 2016. Race 7 YELLOWGLEN HANDICAP - 1200 metres: Thelburg Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Near the 150 metres became unbalanced when bumped by Divine Mr Artie which shifted out slightly to improve its position. App Ben Thompson reported that his mount over raced in the early stages, however, he did not feel he would be able to cross the runners to his inside without doing too much work and therefore remained in a three wide position.

Ability Held up from rounding the home turn until obtaining a narrow run to the inside of Tan Tat Charger approaching the 100 metres. Bassett (NZ) Disappointed for a clear run to the inside of Chapel Road near the 200 metres and having to be steadied at that stage. Nats The Boss Rounding the home turn (350 metres) restrained outwards when laying in to avoid the heels of Nudierudie, which also shifted out slightly. Divine Mr Artie Held up for clear running from the 300 metres until attempt a very narrow run near the 150 metres between Tan Tat Charger and Thelburg, which at the same time shifted in resulting in contact between Thelburg and Divine Mr Artie. Ragazzo Del Corsa Unable to obtain clear running for the majority of the straight and effectively went to the line not fully tested. Chapel Road When questioned Jake Noonan said that his mount got quite stirred up in the preliminary and then once headed by Tan Tat Charger at the 300 metres his mount failed to respond to his riding and in his view may have come to end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Trainer Mick Price advised that the gelding will now be spelled. Race 8 BRETT AND MARK WILSON SPRINT - 1100 metres: Good Offa Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Rider Regan Bayliss advised it was inclined to hang throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Spreadeagled (NZ) Trainer Robert Smerdon was fined $100 for the late notification of rider. When racing tightly to inside of Good Offa (app Regan Bayliss) had to be steadied after making contact with Our Nkwazi on a number of occasions. R Bayliss was advised to show greater caution in similar circumstances. Olivier Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Prix DOr Inclined to hang out rounding the home turn. Held up moment for clear running near the 100 metres. Taddei Tondo Held up in the early stages of the straight and near the 200 metres had to be restrained out when it improved up onto the heels of RockNGold. Smackdown (NZ) Near the 100 metres, when making some ground, had to be checked to avoid the heels between Villopoto which shifted out slightly and Written Up (B. Allen), which shifted in under pressure. Written Up App Ben Allen was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in near the 100 metres when not clear of Smackdown (NZ).

RockNGold Steadied near the 100 metres when awkwardly placed on the heels of Written Up. Lonrockstar An inquiry was opened immediately after the race into the riding tactics adopted on the gelding. Evidence was taken from app Thomas Sadler, trainer John Sadler and in part from Matt Pumpa, representing T Sadlers interests. The main points of contention being the lack of vigour displayed by Thomas Sadler in the first 700 metres of the event and his failure to take a clear opportunity to shift to the outside of Spreadeagled (NZ) in the early part of the straight and then opting to shift back in where there appeared to be little opportunity to gain clear running. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering the thumps and a throat abnormality, a veterinary clearance is required prior to Lonrockstar racing again. Trainer J Sadler advised Stewards that the gelding had previously undergone tie back surgery. The inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed. Race 9 TILE IMPORTER CITY TIMBER HANDICAP - 1600 metres: Wish Come True (IRE) Buffeted at the start between Excites Zelady, which jumped out and Hard Call, which jumped in. Every Faith Commenced awkwardly and hampered by Longeron, which shifted in. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight. Hard Call Raced wide in the early stages until striding to outside the leader near the 1200 metres. Petrology App Regan Bayliss was fined $600 for using the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres. Further, R Bayliss was severely reprimanded for using the whip in consecutive strides on two occasions. Hollywood Bound App Michael Dee stated that when placed under pressure on straightening the gelding failed to respond to his riding.
