Any r ules herewith can be changed, added to, or deleted at the discretion of Select Stallion futurity committee or the IAA Board of Directors. PRIZE MONEY: All pr oceeds fr om the sale of the stallion services, minus 10% (given to the Select Stallion Futurity for operational expenses) will be used as prize money for the SELECT STAL- LION FUTURITY. Accumulated interest from money received through stallion service auction investments will be used to pay expenses. ELIGIBILITY: Only foals resulting from the stallion fee purchased on the SELECT STALLION AUCTION and the stallion donator will be eligible for the WEANLING purse. However, ALL YEAR- LINGS AND 2-YEAR-OLDS sired by stallions whose fees sold on the Auction will be eligible for the Yearling Longe Line Class, Two-Year-Old Snaffle Bit Western Pleasure Class, and Two-Year-Old Hunter Under Saddle Class. STALLION OWNERS OBLIGATIONS: Stallion agreement contract must be signed; Stallion owner will submit a photocopy of stallion papers. Stallion owner agrees to file a stallion report with the Appaloosa Horse Club. Stallion owner may show two foals for each stallion service sold and paid in full. The stallion owner will have the option of paying the balance of any unpaid fee of their stallion as of December 31st of year due to maintain eligibility in the auction. The stallion owner will then have three eligible entries. Stallion owner will be responsible for nominating their mares on or before January 1st. Stallion owner shall contact the Futurity Secretary to see if all money is paid on their stallion(s) before a Breeders Certificate is issued to the purchaser of the fee. If money is still owed, the Breeders Certificate will not be issued until the Futurity Secretary notifies stallion owner that the fee is paid in full or the Breeders Certificate can be sent to the Futurity Secretary. STARTING BID: Only one service fee per stallion may be auctioned. Starting bid must be one half of the advertised fee or greater, with a minimum starting bid of $300.00. If the advertised fee is Private Treaty, then the minimum starting bid is $300.00. If there is a chute fee, it must be declared on the contract. TERMS: 25% down, with the balance due in 3 equal payments of 25% due the 20th of each month. Balance must be paid in full by July 20th of the year following the auction. Example - purchased stallion fee on 2016 auction balance must be paid in full by July 2017. If balance is not paid in full when due then foal will not be eligible to show at the futurity. No futurity checks will be paid out on any account that has a balance due. RETURN SERVICES: Should a mare not conceive the first year of service, the mare will be given retur n service the second year. In the case of death of the original mare or should she pr ove unbreedable, a substitute mare will be acceptable. The stallion service fee from the Stallion Auction will remain in the year purchased but the foal will be moved to his year of eligibility. If there are extenuating circumstances concerning a return privilege, the Select Stallion Futurity Committee will discuss the matter and make a ruling. CREDIT: In the event of the following: death of a stallion; stallion being unserviceable; stallion owner, manager or lessee refusing to honor contract for any reason; or should the stallion be moved to an undesirable location, credit will be given purchaser the following year for the same amount on another breeding fee through the Auction if approved by the Select Stallion Futurity Committee. However, if there is no attempt to breed in the appropriate year, then it becomes a forfeit unless there are extenuating circumstances and the Futurity Secretary is notified of the circumstance by August 1st of the breeding year following purchase. The Select Stallion Futurity Committee with discuss the matter and make a ruling. There are no refunds. A party may sell his purchased stud fee by notifying the Futurity Secretary in writing. By doing so, that party forfeits his right into the Futurity and new party is then eligible. The fee must be paid in full before it can be transferred. UNSOLD SERVICES: Services not sold in the Auction can be sold by the Select Stallion Futurity Committee to a bidder up to May 1st with all payments due paid to date of purchase. UNPAID SERVICES: If a previous year s stallion fee purchase in not paid by the current year auction, any new purchases must be approved by the Board of Directors.
