AFTER SCHOOL CLUB DESCRIPTIONS WINTER SESSION 2018 Little Chefs 10 Classes Week of 11/26-2/11 $125 Increase your child s passion for cooking with this fun class geared toward teaching students about preparing amazing dishes. Students will be taught how to make all types of fun treats. Please be aware that students will be using a toaster oven, grill, and older students may use knives with assistance. Please make sure all allergy information on record is up to date as students will be exposed to a variety of foods. Mr. Kiki Wed. 3:00-3:45 *Please note that the K-5th class pulls students during study hall. School Musical 17 Classes Week of 11/26- Until Performance $255 Get ready to perform in an epic musical, Alice in Wonderland - Broadway Jr. This magical tale will come to life with great musical numbers like Zippie-Doo-Dah and I m Late. The musical will feature roles for those who are seasoned actor/actresses as well as parts for first-time participants. In order to highlight a variety of student talents, there will be roles for singers, actor, and dancers. An additional costume fee will apply. The performance will be held in April. Let your imagination soar with wood burning, 3D printing, tinker toys, Lego creations, Up-Cycling projects, green screen movie creations, and more! Ms. Caraballo 1st-5th: Mon. 3:45-4:30 Sewing Club 10 Classes Week of 11/26-2/11 $125 Are you interested in learning how to use a sewing machine? Do you like to create? This sewing club introduces students to the basic principles and skills required to sew, including design concepts, selecting and preparing patterns, operating sewing equipment, and completing sewing projects. Students will create various projects like a pillow case, pencil case, and an up-cycle project. Repeat attendees will be challenged with more complex projects. Ms. Caraballo 2nd-8th: Wed. 3:45-4:30

Odyssey of the Mind: Session 2 15 Classes Week of 11/26-3/2 $165 Odyssey of the Mind, Primary Museum Makers Edition: Students in grades K-2 will use their abilities to create their own museum! The team will create and present an original museum and its exhibits. During the performance, the team will reveal three creative displays that explain the theme of the museum and show off team-made items. Students will be required to attend the competition, Saturday, March 2nd (more details to come). Ms. Ross K-2nd (Primary Edition Only): Tues. 3:00-3:45 Drone Squad 10 Classes Week of 11/26-2/11 $95 Learn to be a drone pilot! Drones can provide hours of fun and now you can learn how to fly them at school. This class encourages team work, curiosity, and critical thinking skills. Join us after school to practice flying drones and capturing amazing arial pictures.* Instructors Mr. Chase 3rd-8th: Wed. 3:45-4:30 *Students will be taking turns with drones. Dungeons and Dragons 10 Classes Week of 11/26-2/11 $95 Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) is a fantasy role playing game in which players create characters and embark on adventures through math, role playing, and imagination! The club encourages students to coordinate and plan as a team. Every class will be a unique adventure in the dungeons and dragons club! Instructors Mr. Wallis 5th-8th: Tues. 3:45-4:30 NEW! Pro-Social Skills Club 10 Classes Week of 11/26-2/11 $125 This group series is designed for K-5th grade students who need additional support building pro-social skills. Participants will further develop healthy peer relationships in a structured environment through the use of interactive games, role play & practice, and guidance from our School Counselor. Targeted skills include empathy, self-control, boundaries, self-esteem, teamwork, and developing peer relationships. Maximum of 12 participants. Ms. Dayton Thur. 3:45-4:30 NEW! Magic Club 10 Classes Week of 11/26-2/11 $125 Do you want to learn the secrets and tricks behind making magic? Join the magic club and learn magic tricks and skills to impress your family and friends! Students will have the chance to attend an exclusive on campus magic show performed by a local magician and the newly trained magicians will also have the opportunity to perform in their very own magic show here at school! Private Tutoring $50/45 minute session Students receive private one-on-one tutoring with a teacher in order to strengthen and reinforce academic skills and/or complete homework. Yoga Monthly Sessions $63 This relaxing club is just what your child needs after school to relax and strengthen their mind and body. Yoga is for students in grades K-5. Fri. 3:00-3:45 *Please note that this class pulls students during study hall. Cheer Monthly Sessions $63 Cheer is a great way to get students moving in a fun and spirited way after school. Students burn off energy while learning creative, choreographed cheer routines. Cheer is for students in grades K-5. Wed. 3:00-3:45 *Please note that this class pulls students during study hall. Hip Hop Monthly Sessions $63 This after school class will teach students all the right moves! Students will move and groove to choreographed routines and have performance opportunities throughout the year. Hip hop class is for students in grades K-5. Mon. 3:00-3:45 *Please note that this class pulls students during study hall. Twinkle Toes Monthly Sessions $63 This dance class is geared for our youngest dancers in JrK and Kindergarten. Fun music, basic moves, stretching, and loads of fun will be in store for their tiny toes! JrK-K: Thur. 3:00-3:45

Challenge Club Week of 11/26-2/11 $95 Take on a variety of challenges as you safely participate in some of the popular challenges that have gone viral on the internet. Have fun testing your ability to stay frozen in place with the Mannequin Challenge, trying not to laugh with the Straight Face Challenge, and balance a bowl on your head with the Cotton Ball Challenge! Ms. Dayton 5th-8th: Fri. 3:45-4:30 Sports & Games Week of 11/26-2/11 $95 Learn the fundamentals of a variety of sports and games while developing fine and gross motor skills including balance, hand-eye coordination, throwing, and catching. Play your afternoon away in this fun sports and games class! Mr. David Mr. Jordan K-2nd: Tues. 3:00-3:45 *Please note that this club pulls students during study hall. Little Dribblers TBA (November-March) $150 (Parochial Athletics League) Little Dribbler athletes will have fun while developing basketball skills, teamwork, and a sense of community spirit. Students will play in match-up games with other PAL schools. Games schedule TBD with anticipated Saturday games. Girls and boys teams are based on number of participants; should there not be enough athletes to warrant a team, students will have the option to participate in an alternative after school program. Additional PAL registration forms will be provided during the first week of practice. Team shirt and/or jersey will be an additional cost. Coach TBD 1st-4th: 3:00-3:45, twice weekly, days TBD. Teams will be based on grade level and participant numbers. Practice will start after the fall recess with games beginning in January. *Please note that this club pulls students during study hall. PAL Sports Club, Winter Season Boys & Girls Basketball $150 (Parochial Athletics League) Please complete the registration form to indicate interested in playing on a basketball team. Coaches will be reaching out to student athletes, whom have expressed interest, with details. Tournament play may be arranged during the season and will incur an additional fee based on the tournament cost. Both competition and recreation teams are available. AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS AND CLASSES REGISTRATION INFORMATION 1. Review the After School Catalog for all available Fall classes, clubs, and sports. Please note the grade levels, cost, and schedules. 2. Complete the sign up form with student information, class name, and cost. 3. Submit paperwork and payment to the front desk. Please note that certain vendors are paid directly (Jazzerettes is paid with a check dropped off at our front desk). 4. If, after registering, and attending one class only, a course no longer works with your child s schedule, a partial credit can be deposited into your tuition account if paid to Merryhill School. If paid to a vendor, please contact the vendor for their policies. Refunds are not given and credit will not be issued after the first class. 5. Classes will be filled in the order registration forms AND payment are received. If a class is full upon submittal of the form, payment will be returned and child will be added to a wait list for the class or club. 6. Even if a course is paid directly to the vendor, the registration form MUST be submitted to the front desk to ensure attendance and accuracy of records.
