Can I say Shrimp Boil what a great turnout. Thank you to the 2014 Board for asking me to host this event and for the funds from Space Coast HOG treasury to pay for the costs above the money that each attendee was asked to pay. BIG THANK YOU to Charlie Burton, Howard Miller and Debbie Mumma. I got them into more then they anticipated! Being blonde, I miscalculated how many cookers/pots we needed so they improvised and no one was any the wiser and the shrimp and fixings were perfect! PLEASE take a moment to thank them for working so hard to ensure we had a great time. AND.. for those interested, you will find the recipe I use for my boil in the newsletter. I actually picked it up years ago at a Georgia State HOG Rally! February had 3 Key Note Events for our neighboring HOG chapters, we were close to winning the Chapter Challenge at the Seminole Event. As of this writing I am not sure how the Gainesville and Daytona Event attendance was but I am hoping it was awesome! The Raffle Ride was also awesome, with Jim Glazar and Pat Pellegrino winning a ride on the BiPlane. Since we had such awesome attendance we were able to pull two additional winners, John Roche and Cheryl Parravani won the additional drawings. The Syfy Ride is scheduled as I complete this article. Both of these rides were new ideas brought to Mickey by members trying to help us find new and creative places to go. At the February Board Meeting, presentations were made by three local organizations that are hoping to be selected as beneficiary of our Key Note Event which will be held on September 26, 2015. We vote at the March Board Meeting and will announce the benefactor at our March 14 th Membership Meeting. Then, it s off to work for those that volunteer to be on this committee. Charlie Anderson has agreed to be Chair for our Keynote Event this year. Kim Morgan has been busy arranging for our Picnic and Christmas Party. Mark your calendar, April 18 th for the Picnic (our April membership meeting that month will be cancelled in lieu of this event) and December 12 th for the Christmas Party. Also, Ladies, Kim is hoping to have LOH host a ride monthly, please contact her with ideas. Also, her PINK RIDE is going to be back in 2015!! March brings with it Bike Week and an overnighter to St. Augustine. I am looking forward to both of these events in addition to the other rides we are headed out on! Hope to see each of you on a ride soon! Ride Often, Ride Safe and Keep Smiling! Georgia Nelson

Activities Notes from Activities Howdy Ya all, First I want to thank everyone who joined me at a last Activities Meeting. The input has helped quite a lot and I look forward to seeing more of you as the months pass. It didn't hurt that the food was good and we a had a fun time. Please come to the upcoming meeting with a list of your hobbies! St. Augustine Candy Factory: The response to the initial announcement at our Feb Chapter Meeting has been very exciting (see, you should be at the meetings!). At the time of publication we have enough signed-up for two consecutive tours and as more information is received from Whetstone Chocolate Factory we will update you. Departure will be from McDonalds at I95 & Wickham Rd. KSU@7:30, North pick-up at Rte 46 rest area on I95N @8:30. Road Captain-Mickey Goshen. In this season of multiple Primary Events it s important to remember the pride and happiness we feel when our keynote event provides help to a worthy cause. That same feeling is what motivates our HOG Brothers and Sisters in other chapters, we should support them just as we appreciate their support. Lets demonstrate that we are not only a big chapter, but, big hearted as well. From the Director If you arrive at a ride late and group is ready to pull out simply jump behind the sweep until the next stop, then show road captain your current card or sign waiver and join the group! Until the road captain looks at your card or gets signed waiver you are not officially part of the ride but please... follow the sweep and join in as quick as we make the next stop. Bikers are Funny Too A young man walked into an insurance office to purchase coverage for his new Harley Davidson. Only one question on the application confused him. Do you have a lienholder on the vehicle? Looking confused, the new prospect said, I ve got kickstand, is that the same thing?

Did You Miss The Advanced Rider Training? We just had (January 17 th & 18 th ) Advanced Rider Training for both Bikes and Trikes. Seven men and women took the Trike Class and eleven men and women took the Bike Class. We were one person short of being completely full for both classes. One person had pneumonia and had to cancel out of the Trike Class and I had to cancel out of the Bike class because I had a stent in the heart 3 days before the class. Both of us are OK now, but we missed the classes. I would like to get two more classes on the books sooner than later, because I know there is interest. Because he had pneumonia, I know of one for sure on the Trike Class and two for sure on the Bike Class. Please look at the information below and let me know if you want to participate. By Ken Gordon, Historian National Gypsy Tours The first National Gypsy Tour was held in 1917, as shown in the photo below from that year. Gypsy Tours were large rallies organized by local motorcycle clubs. In 1939, the tours kicked off on August 15th. The events usually included a motorcycle tour that ended at a park where games and competitions were held. Participants were awarded watch fobs and trophies were handed out for various categories at a national level. These categories included best dressed, highest percentage of military participation, highest percentage of female participation, most riders, and fastest times for racing events. Gypsy Tours were open to all and were social events that attracted thousands of participants. They were billed as a way to show the public the fun times that could be had on a motorcycle. Although the American Motorcycle Association set the official date for when Gypsy Tours would take place, individual motorcycle clubs were free to hold them anytime during the summer. Gypsy Tours attracted large crowds, but their popularity began to fade in the late 1950s.The tradition of events like the Gypsy Tours were never lost, though, as motorcycle clubs around the country still hold annual rallies and tours. Photo of the Month We did a group "Fly & Ride" trip to Monument Valley. A friend, following our lead, took a picture of us on our bike while approaching this historic site. Denise Ritche, wife of Jim, won 1st place when she later entered it in a Photo Contest. She also donated a copy of this very same picture to an auction event for Down Biker, Ron Cavendish. A special Thank-You goes to Jan Boileau, wife of Al, for capturing these memories.rosanne Haydusky, wife of Vinny P. S. All names mentioned were or still are members of Space Coast HOG If you have a picture you would like t see as Picture of the Month please submit it to bbhogeditor@yahoo.com. The secret committee will look at all the submissions and choose one for the news letter each month. Congratulations to this month Picture of the Month and thank you for sharing the beautiful picture and story. Editor s Note
