TEAM MANAGER - RESPONSIBILITIES A Team Manager is an important role on our teams. Along with the coaching staff, Team Managers help to manage team activities, and expectations with parents. Responsibilities Conduct Team Meetings with Coaching Staff Weekly communication with parents Uniforms personalization orders (are they complete?) Coordinate Photo Day Coordinate Team treat schedule (if desired) Team Treasurer (money for uniforms, parties, treats, etc.) Coordinate end of season party / social gatherings Coordination with Miracle League (10+)
TEAM COMMUNICATION Communication with Your Team Weekly communication to team families on upcoming events Field Clean-up & Breakfast April 7th Opening Day May 5th Photo Day April 28 th, MHS (schedules will be sent out in April). Leagues 13 and older can schedule separately with Kemmetmueller if they would like team photos Golf Event June 18 th Game and practice cancellations due to weather Field status on website (Red=Field Closed, Yellow=Watching, Green = Open) League communication on game status (coaches cannot cancel games). Do not assume if earlier games were cancelled that yours will be If the fields are closed and games are cancelled, volunteer shifts will be cancelled Update team webpage as needed (announcements, messaging, events calendar) Email Messaging Functions you have access to email your team, as well as Coaches and Team Managers on other teams within your league. VOLUNTEER SHIFT- REQUIREMENTS Every family needs to sign up for 1 concession shift per player Full details can be found on the Concession Duty webpage (Menu Concession Duty) Exempt from Shifts Penalties Coaches 2 Official Assistant Coaches Team Managers Families that opt out during registration *Exemptions from a volunteer shift is ONLY for the player on that team. If they have other players on a different team, shifts for those players are still required. If a person signs up for a shift, and is unable to make it, they have up to 48 hours before the shift to reschedule. Within 48 hours it is their responsibility to find another volunteer. No shows for a shift are assessed a $25 fine, and must still complete a shift If a person does not complete their shift for a player within the baseball season, they are assessed a $200 fine If a person s shift is rained out, they DO NOT have to sign up for another shift.
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS- HOW TO SIGN UP Volunteer Sign Ups is located on the MBA website Volunteer Page (Event Calendar Volunteering) Make sure to select Volunteer Shifts from the correct location: Freeman Park, Bennet Family Park, and Veteran s Field. Click on the Sign up button. The person signing up for a shift, will receive an email reminder from the system. You may reschedule up to 48 hours before your assigned time before the record is locked. You can also Filter the Volunteering List by Category (Bennett Concessions, Vets Concessions, or Freeman Concessions, or Special Events).
TREAT TICKETS Treat Tickets are available at Bennett Family Park & Freeman Treat and Treat Tickets are OPTIONAL they are NOT required. You should work with parents on your team to determine if you want have treats for kids after games. Bennett Family Park (BFP) Cost of tickets are $1.50/each Outside Food and Drinks are NOT ALLOWED Freeman Cost of tickets are $1.00/each Teams are encouraged to use the concession stand Best practices for Treat Schedules / Tickets Have parent s sign-up for bringing treats to games with fields that do not have a concession stand, and purchase treat tickets at BFP and/or Freeman OR Collect money from parent s to cover their player s treat cost at the beginning of the season (# games * $1.00 to $1.50). For fields without concessions, bring treats purchased with the collected money.
TEAM UNIFORMS Hanus will contact you when uniforms are ready You will receive your entire set of uniforms when you pick up at Hanus Rookies thru Community 9 will receive a jersey, cap, socks, and pants Community 10/11 will receive a jersey, cap, and belt. Players must purchase their own gray pants Travel 10-12 will receive a jersey, cap, and belt. Players must purchase white pants with royal piping (Easton Mako 2) directly from Hanus or another vendor. Community 12+ will receive a jersey and cap. Players must purchase their own gray pants.
ACCIDENT REPORTING / AED INFORMATION Please be aware of important safety information. Accident Reporting Coaches are required to fill out paperwork in the case of a player accident when players need medical attention. Form is located on the MBA website on the Forms & Documents Page (Menu Forms & Documents). Insurance information will be emailed to team coaches. Please make sure coaches print out the information and keep it with their team equipment. AED Automated External Defibrillators AEDs are available at both the Bennett Family Park and Freeman Concession Stands.

FAQS Which age groups receive trophies? Ages 8 and under receive participation trophies. All other age groups receive trophies depending on tournament placement. My son lost his glove, where is the lost and found? Both Bennett and Freeman have lost and found bins. Where do we get scoreboard controls? Freeman Field 1 & 2 are in the concession stand. Freeman Field 3 is in the dugout by 1 st base. Bennett Fields are in the concession stand. Manitou and Excelsior Commons have lockboxes that the coaches will have access to. Who do I contact if there is a question on game rules? Coaches should contact their respective League Director. What are the addresses of each field? All field addresses are loaded onto our website. The League Athletics App for your phone will integrate with your phone Maps function. What if another parent on the team is volunteering to help with things on the team, can they get volunteer credit? Only head coaches, assistant coaches (2), and Team Managers (1) receive volunteer credits for working with the team. How do we know if a game is cancelled? League officials will communicate with coaches and/or league wide communication via email and text (based on your user profile on the website). Make sure to check email often if there is questionable weather. Is there a resource for buying and selling used baseball equipment? On the far right side of the website homepage, there is a place where families can post items they are looking for or selling.
