Lincoln Hills GC was once again, the venue for this year s Memorial Invitational. Kicking off the tournament was the Federation Team Match which was held on Friday. I have to say, the greens on the Orchard Course were a little furry and bumpy. The weather was a tad bit on the cool side when the sun became hidden by the clouds. At the end of the day, I heard a lot of 3 putts and 4 putts being bantered around the 19th hole. It became the Battle of the Bay, with the team from San Francisco (125) squeeking out a one stroke victory over their across the bay rival, Oakland (126). We had three days of relatively good weather with highs reaching in the high 70s on Sunday. Use to playing in not so ideal weather, the group from Portland donned their shorts and wondered why it wasn t raining. This year, in leu of tee prizes, we decided to use that money and donate it to the Asian Community Center of Sacramento Valley, Inc. We would like to thank all the golfers for their generous support.
