Gunter and Korah from SoDa will be teaching the rhumba from 6:30-7:30 and the Barn Dance, a couples mixer, will be taught later on. There'll be the usual give aways, a free membership, dance tickets, and restaurant coupons as well as some surprises! Well, shiver me timbers! It's time for the pirates of the Maquoketa to set sail once again. Join your fellow 40+ pirates as we plunder the treasures on the banks of the beautiful Maquoketa River. Crews will meet up at 7:15AM at Northpark Mall near Sears. Look for vehicles with canoes/kayaks on top.we will stop at the golden arches in Maquoketa to fill our bellies before setting sail. Be sure to wear your pirate clothes for the day, and bring your water canons to ward off rival pirates. Bring dry clothes for the final docking & travel home. We will arrive back at Northpark @ 6:00PM. No experience is necessary. We will pair you up with an experienced pirate. Be sure to bring your own lunch, snacks, & drinks. When not firing his "canon balls," Cap'n Frank will build a fire to roast your hot dogs. Bring your own hot dogs if desired. Please invite your friends, members & nonmembers, to share the experience. MAY/JUNE: CHA CHA The Cha Cha is a spot dance that does not follow the line of dance. Steps are quite compact, with the feet usually no more then 12 inches apart. Cuban motion is used throughout the Cha Cha, except on movements where it would give an unpleasant appearance or an uncomfortable feeling. A slightly more staccato movement of the hips is characteristic of the Cha Cha. This class is a must for anyone who wants to learn to ballroom dance or who is interested in improving their ballroom skills. No partner required. These classes are perfect for beginners to advanced dancers. Pre-registration deadline is normally the last Friday of the month prior to the start of class. The steps used in the Bronze Syllabus are taken with body flight and are designed for the 5

Sway and slight rise and fall highlight the smooth style of the American Bronze Foxtrot. This class is a must for anyone who wants to learn to ballroom dance or who is interested in improving their ballroom skills. No partner required. These classes are perfect for beginners to advanced dancers. Pre-registration deadline is normally the last Friday of the month prior to the start of class.
