We have searched for ways to make the check-in procedure more efficient and finally decided to appoint Jane Perry as a permanent cashier working alongside a different board member each week. The check-in procedure is still in an experimental stage and refinements are to be expected. Thank you for your patience as we try to improve our procedures. The Club will celebrate 60 years of Sunday night dancing in A special celebration is being planned. More details will follow soon. We welcome back Ed Godby Schwab to teach us some new Foxtrot moves. Ed owns The Center dance studio in Lapel. He has danced jazz, ballet, modern dance and some stage work for the past 37 years. Also, he is an instructor at IUPUI. The beginners dance lesson will be taught by our member volunteers, Dave Sue Berard. They will introduce our new dancers to Foxtrot. The dance lesson in the small ballroom is free with paid admission to the dance. Our members volunteer because of their love for dancing. Looking forward to next month the Cha Cha will our featured dance. Kathleen Ilo will teach our intermediate/advanced dancers and Dennis Bess Dworski will teach our beginners. Please invite your friends to come and learn to dance or to join us in learning some new dance steps. Both beginning and intermediate dance lessons are available only WITH paid admission to the dance. Please, no video taping of the lessons. page 4

During the recession a few years ago, Joe s employer closed. Being unemployed force us to give up taking dance lessons. We found that we missed dancing and desired a way to continue.

People were welcoming. We felt comfortable attending as relatively inexperienced dancers. We have attended the group lessons at CDC. We found the instructors to be enjoyable and helpful.

After discussing several possibilities we agreed to ballroom dancing as an activity we would both enjoy. We went to a local dance studio in the Indianapolis area and began private and group lessons. During the recession a few years ago, Joe s employer closed. Being unemployed force us to give up taking dance lessons. We found that we missed dancing and desired a way to continue. I searched online for opportunities to do ballroom dancing in Indianapolis. We found the Continental Dance Club and we went on a Sunday evening to check it out. We really enjoyed the experience. People were welcoming. We felt comfortable attending as relatively inexperienced dancers. We have attended the group lessons at CDC. We found the instructors to be enjoyable and helpful. One session was taught by Scott and Yulia Shook who are teachers at Starlight Ballroom. We now take private lessons from Scott. In the five years we have attended Continentals, we have enjoyed the opportunity to dance socially. Everyone is very friendly and we have made great friends. We appreciate the opportunity to dance weekly. We enjoy the venue because Starlight Ballroom has an excellent dance floor. We also enjoy the special events like dinners, snack nights, and the annual homecoming at Indiana Roof Ballroom.
