5 CANE COUNTRY SQUARES This year Halloween fell on our Learner's Night - so we celebrated with them and had lots of fun. Some people dressed up and there was an interesting supper to follow. We had the pleasure of dancing once again to Nev and Bev McLachlan. It is always a pleasure to have visiting callers whenever we can. We welcomed Scott Fox and Sandy Lees when Scott was visiting Bundaberg for work commitments They came along again to dance with us. They had good recall of all the movements when only dancing with us occasionally. Well done. Rockhampton dancers travelled to help us celebrate our Free Christmas Dance just recently followed on Sunday morning with Round Dancing instructions from Michael Mills. Everyone helped to quickly make our hall look festive and to partake of the lovely food on the supper table. Clothing in Christmas colours added to the atmosphere of celebration. Thanks to visiting Callers for giving up their time to travel and call for us. Cane Country Squares will go into recess following our break-up on 8th December and will commence in the new year on 2nd February May your Christmas be everything you hope and pray for. 10 EZ SQUARES CABOOLTURE DANCE CLUB EZ SQUARES is nearing the end of another year. Our club will say goodbye on 5th December to our senior caller Glenn Wilson, who will have other commitments in 2018 and will be unable to continue with us. Glenn has been calling here for 25 years. He has taught most of our members to dance and we will miss him. He is being replaced by Elaine Davis and we are looking forward to 2018 under her guidance. On 27th August we lost one of our dear members Mac McDonald. We will miss Mac's zany ways. He loved our costume themed parties. We have five new dancers graduating in 2017, which we are happy about. We continue to try and encourage new people to try square dancing and we are having a family and friend s night on 28th November. We wish all our friends at other clubs a very happy festive season and hope to catch up with some of you in the New Year. 13 BURLEIGH SQUARE DANCE CLUB November has been a quiet month for Burleigh Squares. We were unfortunate enough to be closed two Saturdays in a row because of hall unavailability followed by the Society Christmas dance. However, we did manage a mid-week Come and Try Session at a local library, where we danced two squares. Once again Sue was in charge and the six learners thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A huge thanks to Sue and all our club dancers who made the event possible. This year we will be having two Christmas dances. The first one on Saturday 2 nd December will be Alan Evan s last calling night for the year for Burleigh Squares. The following Saturday 9 th December will also be a Christmas theme and will be a little out of the usual so, if you want to experience a dance with a difference, we would love to see you! Following the success of our mid-january holiday dance this year, we are looking forward to next year s Holiday dance on Saturday 13 th January. Michael Mills and Alan Evans will be great draw cards for the night. Our mid-january dance is aimed at attracting visiting dancers to the Coast as well as providing an opportunity for our members to catch up with friends over the Christmas/New Year period. We would love to see you there, dancing from 7pm at our usual venue, Maher Hall, 42 Matilda Street, Burleigh Heads. 15 HERVEY BAY SQUARE DANCE CLUB Since our last Bugle entry Hervey Bay have been to the Shindig on the Mountain 9. What a great weekend it was. The good news is that Gary will be back - when is another question. Congratulations to Ann who won free tickets to the next Shindig. We hope she doesn't have to wait too long to get the benefit from her prize. It was fun all round on the 4th Nov. when Alan Evans and Jane came to town. Our 60's night brought out a lot of good old tunes. Alan was in his best form. Thanks Alan for a great night and to Maryborough for your welcome company always. Well, everyone who likes Christmas decorations needs to head to Dan Dinna House soon. The hall looks magnificent. Samantha and crew did a wonderful job decorating the hall for all the hall users benefit. It looks like "fairyland". If you would like to come to our CD Xmas Dance on 9th December at 7 pm, you will be most welcome. The bonus, Christmas in Fairyland dance and supper $3. On 13th December our club is having their Christmas Dinner Party with a few party games and novelty dancing. Members are free, but non-members are asked to pay $8.
