1 Buangor Primary School Fostering Learning For Life NEWSLETTER No th April 2016 Students of the Week Congratulations to our Student of the Week winners who were Ivy, Brooke and Fyn. Ivy s award was for working well to learn her spelling words each week and Brooke for working well in class. Fyn was awarded for showing great leadership. Well done Ivy, Brooke and Fyn! Principal Report. It has been wonderful to watch the enthusiasm of Junior School Council with their Mother s Day Raffle. They have all done a terrific job in selling tickets, dealing with money and looking after the prize stall. A big thank you to everyone who donated a prize. The draw will be held at this Friday s assembly. Beginning next week Gr 3-6 students will have their weekly spelling words recorded on their ipads. This will enable students to practise their spelling words at home. At this week s staff meeting teachers did review the spelling program to date and overall we believe we are on the right track. Next week Grade 3 and 5 students will be involved in NAPLAN testing. An information flyer is attached to the newsletter. If you have any questions please contact me before Tuesday. I hope that all mothers have a great Mother s Day this weekend. 2 Chooks Our girls are becoming part of the Buangor Primary School family. They wander around the yard at recess and lunch time and if lucky enough they score a bit of lunch. The students are spending time with them so they will be more friendly and comfortable around us. Buangor Primary School Newsletter Issue No 12 5th May
3 Last week at Assembly some of our students put on a performance for us all. There was some great individual talents on show as well as the Grade 3 doing a presentation on the Bounce Back Program (attached to this newsletter is a Bounce Back information leaflet). Well done to the students who participated. Please remember School Assembly is now being held once a week on Friday s at 3:10pm in the Multipurpose Room. Please come along and join us! Walk to School Day Walk to School Day will be on Thursday 19th May. We would like to see as many students as possible walking to school on this day. We understand many families don t live in walking distance to the school but maybe on this day they could be dropped off at a safe destination that they can walk from. Athletics Training Thursday 12th May will be the last athletics training session. After training will be a Sausage Sizzle for everyone. A huge thank you to all the parents who have given up their time to assist at training. This effort is truly appreciated! First Aid.
