WEST DRAYTON SOCIAL CLUB NEWS WHILE YOU BOOZE! June 2016 WELCOME to the summer edition of News While You Booze. Well I say Summer!

THEREhave been lots of things happening since the last copy including the Easter Fun Day, the Swing and Soul Night and the celebrations for the Queen s 90 th birthday where everyone enjoyed a right

Look out for photos in this edition, you may spot a familiar face or two!

We produced some leaflets to hand out to promote the Centre and Social Club and as such have already received new memberships, which is great news.

Don t forget to use the suggestion box in the bar, we d love to hear your feedback, news and any new ideas for the club. 2.

1 WEST DRAYTON SOCIAL CLUB NEWS WHILE YOU BOOZE! June 2016 WELCOME to the summer edition of News While You Booze. Well I say Summer!! I m hoping Summer falls on a Saturday this year so that I can enjoy it! THEREhave been lots of things happening since the last copy including the Easter Fun Day, the Swing and Soul Night and the celebrations for the Queen s 90 th birthday where everyone enjoyed a right royal knees up to the music of Dave Dawson. There was also a Community Quiz night and an ABBA tribute night so we have had a very busy time. Look out for photos in this edition, you may spot a familiar face or two! The Centre also had a stall at the May Fayre on the Green recently which was very successful especially as we were blessed with a lovely sunny day. We produced some leaflets to hand out to promote the Centre and Social Club and as such have already received new memberships, which is great news. THE Social Club also recently held it s AGM and minutes from this are available from the office for anyone who is interested. Don t forget to use the suggestion box in the bar, we d love to hear your feedback, news and any new ideas for the club PRIZES TO BE WON EVERY FRIDAY Friday Night is Poker Night Be in the bar on Friday evenings Tickets on sale from Saturday onwards Draw every Friday night in Bar - 10 prizes to be won each week YOU SPOKE! WE LISTENED! WE have listened to your requests and due to popular demand are pleased to announce the return of two popular events to the Social Club every Friday Night. FROM now on you can participate in a game of poker! Check out the notice boards or ask Dave or John for more information. YOU can also try your luck at winning your Weekend Lunch as the meat raffle is back! You can purchase tickets from Saturdays onwards and the draw will take place every Friday in the bar. In addition to the Social Club these also include Bingo members, Tuesday Club, Tea Dance and other groups who use the Centre s facilities. Did you know you can join these events? We would also love to see more of these members using the Social Club and now that we are offering more activities and events throughout the year we hope to welcome some new faces very soon. 5 Community Centre News FORTHCOMING EVENT IN THE OSCAR FREY HALL MOTOWN EVENING We are planning to hold a joint event between the Association and the Social Club in the very near future Date to be announced shortly. Come along and dance the night away with your favourite Tamla Motown hits The Senior Citizen s Party to celebrate the Queen s 90 th birthday was a very successful event, they were entertained by a very talented group of youngsters from the Stockley Academy and enjoyed the singing from the kids from Cherry Lane Primary school. The day was topped off by a good old English singalong with Sweetie. Here are some photos from the event CAN YOU HELP? VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED Please can anyone spare just one day a month to collect some of our Senior Citizens from their homes and bring them to the Centre and back again? We are looking for volunteers to drive a community bus every 4 th Wednesday of the month. Pick up bus from approx.10 am, collect folk from various addresses in the local area and bring them to our Senior Citizens Tea and Bingo sessions here at the Community Centre by 1pm. You would then collect them at 4.30 pm to take them home. We would be very grateful to receive any offers, please contact Jackie in the Office on if you are interested Full driving licence required and training will be given to drive the bus. 6
