1 Footnotes Established 1983 April 2013 Indianapolis, IN President s Corner March was certainly a party month for Indy Dancers!! First, we celebrated St. Patrick s Day by learning a few Irish dance steps and watching real Irish dancers. It was so much fun!! However, our 30 th Anniversary dance was the party of all parties!! The IUPUI Swing Cats (See their note below.), Harriett Fishburn and her group, Roger and Amy, and Scott and Yulia stole the show with their spotlight dances. And with the fabulous dance music put together by four of our DJs, everyone stayed on the dance floor until the very last dance. It was so much fun and a night to remember!! Make sure you catch the pictures in the newsletter and see many more at I also want to thank the following dance clubs that came to help us celebrate: Camelot Dance Club Dance Factor Friends of the Anderson Paramount Theater Continental Dance Club Heartland Ballroom Dancers Irvington Dance Club But that s not the end of our partying! Pull out your poodle skirts and slick back your hair for our Grease party April 20! You can also watch the movie during the dance!! Plus, we will serve coney dogs and chips all for the admission price!! What a deal! You don t want to miss it! In Indiana, May is race month and that gives us another reason to party! So, wear your shorts and sunglasses, put on your sunscreen and crazy race day hats and join us for a Snake Pit party May 21. Stay tuned for more details. Also, it s time to think about renewing your membership. With all this fun, you don t want to miss all the fun activities in the coming year. Income Statement Don Mindach The meeting was called to order by our President Rhonda Bennett. The minutes and treasurer's report, as printed in the February issue of Footnotes, were then accepted. For those of you that missed our special spotlight Irish dance, performed by Shelly Symmes of Celtic Motion, we have provided a link to it on our website. Write it down on your calendar...saturday, March 16th from 7:30-11:00 p.m., we are celebrating our 30 th Anniversary Dance at The Indiana Roof Ballroom. March 13th is the last chance to purchase anniversary tickets; unfortunately, we will NOT be selling any tickets at the door! The IUPUI Swing Cats, along with Scott and Yulia Shook and the amateur champs, Rog and Amy Greenawalt will be doing a spotlight dance. We are very fortunate and excited to have all three for your enjoyment; what a special treat! What an elegant and exciting anniversary dance we have planned for you!!! Don t miss out! March 19, Starlite, lesson at 7:00 p.m. with Scott and Yulia. April 20 is a "Grease" party!! Get out your poodle skirt, it is our annual 50 s dance at the Eastside. It's always fun to see the girls wearing those poodle skirts and saddle oxfords and the guys in their blue jeans and T-shirts acting like teenagers. To help make the evening more special coney dogs and chips will be served. May is race month and we will be having a Snake Pit Party.'
