These two months offer you several opportunities for you to dance and socialize with other club members just for the fun of it! For example, plan to attend Symphony on the Prairie to hear Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Sept. 8. Bring your cooler with food, a lawn chair and some shoes for dancing to some great swing music. But don t forget to sign up by Aug. 7 so we can get discount tickets. See page 6 for details. Also, plan to join us at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 11 as we dance for the fun of it. This annual event is not only fun for participants, but provides an excellent way to show the public what we are about. See page 5 for more information. Mark your calendar for Saturday, Sept. 1, when we take a road trip to Mike s Dance Barn in Nashville, Indiana. If you went the last time, you know what fun is in store! If you haven t been there, you are in for a real treat. First, the dance floor is probably the best of all our venues. It s beautiful! Second, you will enjoy ballroom dancing to some great tunes by the Twilite Nites dance orchestra. Hear audio samples at Last, go hungry because Mike is planning to offer some really good home-cooked food for a price you can t beat. Trust me, Mike cooks it himself and he s an excellent chef! See page 5 for car pool information. Keep this newsletter close by because you don t want to miss out on all the fun! Have fun and see you on the dance floor!! Rhonda Bennett Summertime in Indianapolis means lots of festivals and outdoor concerts. Whether it s Carmel Fest, concerts at Greenwood Park Mall or Concerts on the Canal, you will probably run into members of Indy Dancers. I even spotted some Indy Dancers participating in a Civil War ball!! How cool is that? Good music, a dance area and a party atmosphere always attracts members of our club because we love to dance and love to have fun. Income Statement Don Mindach The meeting was called to order by President Rhonda Bennett. The minutes and treasurers report were accepted as printed in June issue of Footnotes. The fun just keeps on happening Save the dates for the following upcoming special events: August 11 (Saturday), 8:00-10:00 PM at The Indiana State Fair, gate 6. Jim Pennington will be our DJ. We will have a bigger wooden dance floor. Fans will be provided to help try to keep us cool. Marilyn Sutherlin will have the passes which will be given to dancers who have signed up to go and participate. The passes are policed and we must have the number of participation vs passes. If anyone is interested in doing an exhibition, please let Rhonda Bennett or Marilyn Sutherlin know as this will add a little something for our audience and entertainment. This will be a great time! September 1, Saturday, 8:00 PM, road trip to Mike s Dance Barn in Nashville IN. It will be ballroom dancing that night. Carpooling will be available. September 8, Saturday, 8:00 PM, Symphony on the Prairie, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. August 7th is the last day to purchase tickets for $18.00 if 30 or more signup to purchase tickets. September 28, Friday, 7:30-11:30 PM, The Big Ballroom Bash, Murat Shrine Arabian Room. Before September 21 st admission is $20 for member and $23 non-members, after September 21 admission is $30. Members purchase tickets before September 21 and save $10.00 per ticket. December 15, Saturday, save the date. Christmas Dinner and Dance plus Party time. More details upcoming. Sorry we are in the planning stage and no details at this time. There being no further business, the meeting was closed after a motion was made and seconded. Let s get back to dancing! Releaser agrees to indemnify the releasees and each of them from any loss, liability, damage or cost they may incur due to the presence of the releaser at any activity or function sponsored by Indy Dancers, Inc., whether caused by the negligence of releases or otherwise. Releaser hereby assumes full responsibility for the risk of bodily injury, death, or property damage due to the negligence of releasees or other wise while for any purpose participating in any activity or function sponsored by Indy Dancers, Inc. Releaser consents to being the subject of photographs or video recordings of Indy Dancers and authorize Indy Dancers to cause the same to be exhibited, with or without advertising, as still photographs, motion pictures, video or other similar media. Releaser releases Indy Dancers, as well as any assignees, from any and all claims for damages for libel, slander, invasion of privacy or any other claim based on the use of the above described material(s).
