Transcription:

VAIR VIEWS President s Message It s October and the weather is starting to turn. I hope everyone has been safe and unscathed from our recent high wind and rain episodes. We had a few downed limbs and some streaks of power outages, but nothing lasting. I haven t had much time to spend with or on the Corvair this last month. My day job has been keeping me very occupied and leaving little down time for hobbies. Kris and I are looking forward to a little R&R in Texas this month. We are combining some vacation time with one of my work trips. Kris and I will spend a track day at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth and then we ll cruise to Austin and end the trip in San Antonio. Kris will get an opportunity to do some site seeing while I visit clients and employees at projects I oversee. I hope to share some good stories at the next meeting. Next Meeting Info: The next monthly meeting for Columbia Basin Corvairs will be on October 21st, starting at 7:30pm. It will be at our normal meeting location at the Kennewick Banner Bank branch, 203 West 1st Avenue. October is nomination month. We will be nominating our 2014 officers at this month s regular meeting. Keep in mind who you d like to nominate or if you yourself would like to step up as one of the club officers. We will Vote on the candidates in November and have an installation function in January. Our next club meeting will be at our regular stomping grounds at the Banner Bank in downtown Kennewick at 7:30. See you there! Shine on, R.B. Dorran, President! PAGE 1

MEETING MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 16, 2013 R.B. called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. There were 11 Club members in attendance. The meeting was being held at Maverick s in Hermiston. Dinner was to be followed with the annual miniature golf. Unfortunately the lights at the course were not turned on due to the power outage the entire town had experienced the night before and the manager was unavailable to re-set the timer to turn them on. As of September 16, 2013 treasurer s report had a balance of $2,327.83. The Minutes were approved. Old Business: Walla Walla Fair parade had 6 cars participate and the club won first prize in the car club category. Wheelin Walla Walla had 3 cars in the show. New Business: Johnny has injured his leg getting out of his car and will not be doing the Hill Climb at Maryhill has previously planned. This upcoming weekend is Rollin on the River in Boardman. It is an afternoon car show. Nothing is planned in October except for the club meeting. November 9, 2013 is the veteran s Day Parade in West Richland. Meeting was called at 7:00 PM. After finding out that we could not play golf everyone went home. Submitted by Kris Dorran! PAGE 2
